At least what I can praise about XX is that there are people playing online at all times of the day. My first day on the game I was able to pick up and beat players despite not playing it. The funniest part about this game is it's over a decade old and still popping online, but newer anime fighting games like Metly Blood or Under Night IN Birth are fucking barren. Can't get a match. Uni is not intuitive at all while Melty Blood is so stupid you can mash your face against the controller and get a combo. I don't think Arc Sys or French Bread are interested in making good games anymore.

Xbox series x/s controller is amazing for fighting games. The dpad is toooooo good. No one gives it a chance.

Actual 1 to 1 of my experience in this game. I picked HoS. Started hittung buttons and couldnt help but exclaim this shit is cool over and over. Needless to say we just 500 hour mark for this game and its still teaching me shit. A never ending pile of things to learn. This game is truly a gem.

This is awesome. It's interesting that people think of GG as this impossible monstrosity of a game instead of just playing it. They really be acting like fighting games haven't gotten much easier to play and learn due to things like UA-cam and discord. No matter how hard you remember a game being, nowadays they are much easier to play, and I don't even agree that the game was that hard to learn to begin with. They really like to forget how hard a game like for example MvC3, which came out much later, can be compared to GGACR. The weight thing is weird, but it's not really the first thing to worry about when learning the game. I think many people are just remembering the game through loss-colored glasses, they are just thinking about how good people were at the top end and not considering that new players are learning these games all the time. This is especially nice for me because I don't jive with Strive, but I'm happy to see new players taking an interest in ACR and Rev2.

Love this. Even if it's sloppy, I enjoy watching people learn fighting games. This next year I'm gonna focus/build my channel on encouraging people to do what you did here and learn older fighting games. We have so many new people in the FGC, and rollback makes a lot of older fighting games MUCH easier to play. Also, older fighting games tend to lose the toxic players over time, so your experience of the community is not so surprising. Older games persist because they are just that good and become timeless, so the players just end up wanting to show people how cool their game is. There is an upside to not having to be chasing the dragon so much, in the sense that new games having million dollar prize pools is cool, but attracts a more, we'll it "aggressive" player base. Then there's people like me that want to learn the games they missed, like for example VF5 has a new game on the way someday, which is enough reason for me to invest some time in learning. Lately I've been playing Samurai Shodown VSP, which I personally think is the best in the series, and Gundam Battle Assault 2, which is a very unique game with several unique mechanics that you still don't really see duplicated even to this day. I'm planning on making a rotation of older games and newer ones but just to name a few classics I haven't mentioned yet: Garou (in addition to the new FF), Last Blade 2, Capcom Vs SNK2 (got that new collection on the way!), Street Fighter X Tekken (a cursed game that eventually developed into a great one, main thing being tournament gems fixing that system), KOF13, HNK, and Rumble Fish 2 (don't buy the new version, sadly it's cursed AF, just play on Fightcade). I happened to be in Japan and play RF2 randomly, so I have a soft spot for that one. That game REALLY never saw the light of day over here, so I'd be willing to bet that nobody over here is even that good/familiar to be unbeatable. Every game I've mentioned I would consider to be a "forever game" that I legitimately hope people will play long after I'm dead, just timeless classics.

i had no idea mordecai liked guilty gear but unironically this video is peak, it incapsulates the acr expierience perfectl lol i havent been playing for more than like,,,2 weeks and the only reason i started is because my friend got the game for me, it feels very different than strive but its a lot of fun i play millia here, and all of my friends have been beating me up but im still having an insane amount of fun, my first round w my friend was before i did training mode and it i liked just jumping into it without knowing anyything at all and trying to survive

the mayflash f300 is awesome i wanted a hitbox but figured i'll make my own later. i like how you saved mf doom for the hitbox instead of commentary lol. what i took away from that was "hitbox is legendary so i'll just use a legendary rapper to do the talking for me"

Best things about guilty gear xx (any version)are combo damage reduction and normal hits damage. You can easily win matches without landing a single combo. It reduces the skill ceiling dramatically as long as you can react to your opponent

Do you think someone who haven't played any fighting games is able to beat Arcade on astonishing hard difficulty? I try it everyday for some minutes and try to use blocks/counters/skill and im not very interested in combos(i try to invent them myself).

My favorite move he has is back air, not because of the kill move, but because of the forward hitbox it has. It’s small, but still reaches forward a good amount. It has less knockback than nair, and sends slightly upward so it’s a super cool combo move. I’m also disappointed you didn’t mention his higher full hop. If you full hop while crouching you get an even higher jump. It’s super useful for juggling and catching high recoveries. Frog is so fun

I really hate the naming scheme of controllers. I hate that a PS4 controller is called a pad. IMO a leverless should be a pad, a traditional arcade stick should be a fightstick and a PS4 controller should just be a controller. Maybe we should call leverless "boxes" but idk.

I know this video is 2 years old but I just got into strive. S tier fighting game IMO. I play melee, that is my game. But when SF6 came out I decided to branch out. SF6 was a great learning tool to learn motion inputs. Anyways I have a couple of friends who are master rank SF6 players and playing strive against these guys made me learn the game fast. I think this is by far the best way to learn. If you have someone who is far better than you but can teach you a little bit you will learn way faster than just playing randos online. Anyways I love this game.

Just bought myself a Haute 42 R16 to try out leverless but have been training on the keyboard whilst it arrives. It’s such a blast. 😅 getting absolutely bodied by my friends but it’s a good time. Keep making videos like these and maybe like challenges for how good can you get at a more difficult character in GGST in 24 hours may be a fun thing?
