Elephant throws a stick at me
Переглядів 9077 годин тому
I heard a couple people "oohing" and "aahing" just to the west of our campsite and grabbed my phone and went to have a look. The people were up against the fence that separates the National Park from the campsite. A breeding elephant herd had come up to the fence at Bakgatla Campsite in Pilanesberg National Park, South Africa. The elephants were a bit alarmed by the people. In an unusual move, ...

An elephant bull gets up close and personal with a game viewing vehicle in Pilanesberg National Park, South Africa. Watch how the experienced Wildlife Guide slaps the door of his game viewer when he wants the bull to move along. Such intelligent and tolerant animals the wild African elephant.
Lions mating up close.
Переглядів 8 тис.21 день тому
Lions are known to mate repeatedly and frequently over a series of days. These lions were feeding at the carcass of a dead elephant. This was one of many times the pair mated while the cameras were there that day. The male bites the lioness viciously on the back of the neck during copulation and when the lioness broke free she left the scene. #lion #wildlife

Elephants are quite used to drinking from the drains during the dry season at Elephant Sands in Botswana. They are not really allowed to though, because they will often break the drains. But the people and the elephants have learned the advantages of co-existence. The elephants are extremely tolerant of the human presence. For the humans though, especially first time guests, the closeness of th...
Elephant herd runs away.

A herd of elephant run for the hills when they see people at Kukhama waterhole in North east Botswana. The area was a hunting concession and at this time even though there was no hunting taking place, the memory got the elephants to flee immediately. #elephants #botswana

Lioness queen swaggers her territory.
Did know one see the baby hippo hiding behind his dad
Well spotted... and thanks for watching
Thank you for your comment. The elephants are nervous because the herd is close to the campsite fence (big, strong, electrified, 'elephant proof'.) There are people, campers, at the fence watching the elephants and this makes the matriarch (herd leader) nervous. That's why she throws the stick. You cannot clip the tusks of an elephant because after a certain age the tusks will not grow back and they need their tusks to live a good life. Here in South Africa elephant poaching is not a big problem. Poachers go mostly for rhinoceros whose horns are cut to deter poaching. These horns do grow back at any age. At this National Park, Pilanesberg, there is a very efficient anti-poaching unit that looks after all the wildlife. The rules are strict and you cannot be in the park after dark. I hope this gives you more information about the situation here. Thank you for watching.
You haven't seen an elephant until you've seen The AFRICAN Elephant. And you are not going to find it at the circus.
True that. Thanks for watching
I'd rather watch the video without the music. Sounds of the nature.
I hear you. The natural sound was mostly botched by me moving around the vehicle so I would have had to overlay other natural sound. I am happy with the music... especially since I added it when uploading and couldn't even preview the video with the music because my internet connection was not strong enough. Art in the eye of the beholder I think. Thank you for always supporting the channel and commenting honestly. Your feedback is always appreciated and thank you for watching.
Those eyes are incredible
Amazing eyes. I had the 'park' lights on on the pickup and in the dark some of the clips have a spooky feel with the reflection. Thanks for watching dear Lisa.

Never saw such a big elegant,my favorite animal.
They are rather large. Thanks for watching
This bull still hasn't reached his full size, still he looks so huge, it would be nice to see him when he reaches his full size at 40
Indeed it will. Thanks for watching
Seems to be looking for the cameraman.
Quite possibly. I was far from him. Thanks for watching
