As a 51 year veteran cosmetologist I must disagree with your comment that any shears will do. It really does matter. Please invest in a good pair of hair shears it will make a world of difference.

Thanks gor the video. Three years ago I had a nightmare at the salon, ever since then I cut my own hair. I figured it can't be that bad and truly, whatever haircut I do it is not messed up like the one I was given. I choose okder kady, thinking she got experience...inly ti find out when she screwed me up after hours of chopping my hair, that she worked her whole life at HP. I jumped out of the chair and run, she started running after me, yelling I didnt finish...I had to go to the other salon, crying my eyes out and hair had to be cut short to give it any shape.i should know when my poor husband started picking up my hair strands from the floor that something is not right. My hair was long and ge somehow thought that it can be put back 😅
I am a licensed cosmetologist and I’m begging everyone NOT TO FOLLOW THIS! THIS IS ALL WRONG! From the way she combed her hair to her using regular household scissors (Scissors do matter dramatically) as opposed to professional shears to cutting diagonally instead of straight across. This is a nightmare! PLEASE DO NOT FOLLOW THIS VIDEO! If you’re not a hairdresser, leave the tutorials to the professionals! I can guarantee if I blow that out, there will be tons of imperfections and lots of adjusting needed!
This cut is from the 1970’s, the first one we learned at cosmetology school. It’s simple and looks good on many women. The look is coming back and best of all, it’s diy!
Same thing, just as simple and effective: Now comb it all straight forward and place the elastic at the bridge of the nose between the eyes and chop it straight across thus creating the PERFECT Frame Cut that compliments the Gypsy Shag
This cut has been used since the seventies. They rename it every once in a while. But ...it sort of works. Except for the corners. The one with three pigtails works better. One on top and then one on either side of the head. A hair dresserput it on here a few months ago.
I have cut my hair like this since I was 14 years old. I discovered it when I combed my hair up after a haircut and realized it was all straight across the top. I'm now close to 60 yrs old and it has worked all these years every time!
