Thank you! Got it on sale on Amazon! 👕
That's the one fish I would never want to take home. They have parasites does spaghetti worms best released everything else is fine
Great report Andy! And as for the sea trout having worms, yeah some of them do, some of them don't. These fish that show up this time of year in the inlet are the ocean run fish, which are usually cleaner than the ICW fish. We had a few years that none of them we kept had any worms! You just never know. They are tasty, but I don't keep them anymore either. Fun to catch though, if you find them, you can usually catch a bunch of them!
@WayneLandry-m9n those trout come out of the Indian River. Weakfish are with the bluefish on the migration.
@charlesachinelli3857 well maybe some of them come out of the river, not all of them. The spotted weak fish I'm talking about run down the beaches along with the weak fish we catch on the beaches sometimes year round, and more so in the winter. So to get it straight, you have the spotted sea trout in the ICW, and along the beaches you have the weak fish, and the spotted weak fish that run together in the winter time, but they are around the beaches most times where the coquina reefs are that harbor baitfish. The weak fish have no limits, but the spotted sea trout ones do. If you take a spotted sea trout, and a spotted weak fish, and put them side by side, you can tell the difference. I used to fish them commercially back in the day. Cheers.
Snook season ends this Sunday!
Snook season wraps up this Sunday, but reopens February 1st.
thx so much im going there in a week or 2 and i was hoping to see what i could catch
Thanks for the report.
Good job Andy! Thanks.
Thank you! 🙏
I caught four of them and they're all between 12 and 13 inches
That's awesome!
Flonder no keepers
@@michaelcash3827 It's a good sign that they're biting early in the season.
Andy, as a Sebastian resident I greatly appreciate your excellent reports on this great fishery and all the other things of interest, hugely appreciated. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year’s to you , your family and staff!❤
Thank you so much! 🙏 I greatly appreciate it.
Great report Andy! The only thing you forgot to mention was the spotted seat routes I mentioned in my report to you. They have been showing up in good numbers, which is good, but their season doesn't open until January the first. And with the cooler water temps, the ocen run fish should be in the inlet now. They usually do show up in December, that's when I start catching them. Thanks.
I totally forgot about that! I’ll mention it in next report.
@SebastianInletFishing all good sir! I'll be mentioning it again in my next week's report as well since it's getting close for them to be in season. Last year's season was pretty good for them.
@@WayneLandry-m9n You from South Florida?
@leversforever9748 no sir, east central, brevard county.
Cooler weather this week, so make sure to take a jacket!
It looks cold
It is cold! 🥶
The Sebastian inlet my old surfing spot, great fishing spot
Best inlet I've visited yet!
Great fishing weather starting Thursday!
Same to you Andy from. Palm Bay I'll be pulling some flounder out this weekend happy Thanksgiving God bless you and yours
Some showers on Friday, but the weekend is great for fishing!
Great week for fishing. Higher wind gusts on Friday and Saturday, but still good fishing weather!
Thank you sir! You as well.
Great report Andy! As always. Snookman here wishing everyone a very pleasant Thanksgiving!! Catch some fish, they are biting!
Happy Thanksgiving Snookman!
Thanks beother!
Lol. Should have been BROTHER..
Question, I’m going today at 7 am to Sebastian inlet to fish and I’ll be there all day with live and dead shrimp, I’m targeting sheepheads, small snook, and flounder, where should I go?
I would fish off the rocks west of the bridge.
Thanks for the report. Take care, Mickey
Always a pleasure.. Happy Thanksgiving!
All they do is stress them out catch the same fish over and over. Not to mention leaving all of the hooks. People Target them on the North Jetty and do UA-cam videos
not sure why they are so protected people dive there and you can see that there is always at least 10 of them and they are active too not just sitting there
@itspapa3853 because 30 years ago there wasn't any. People kept them to the point that they were gone. Now they're kind of a nuisance because they congregate on the reef and take a lot of fish off of people's lines

@@captmojoe very cool. Thanks.
Colder temperatures coming! The challenge when fishing at the Sebastian Inlet will be the higher wind gusts.
The weather is about to cool down this week.
@@SebastianInletFishing yes it is. And I'm not a fan of anything below 70. Lol. But all good.
I don't mind colder nights, but sure hopes the weather warms up during the day!
@SebastianInletFishing yeah, it will warm up because it will be sunny, but only in the 60's, and with a brisk NW wind in the teens, so it will feel cooler. Then Monday and Tuesday the winds switch to NNE, but light. Fishing should be picking up from now to then as the seas have dropped down to 1 to 2, with offshore winds to keep it calm. I went down today, and the water looked good, cleaned up a ton! And there were mullet in the north surf, but fishing was aliw everywhere I went.
Awesome report Andy, as always. Great job!
Thank you Wayne!
You're welcome!
UPDATE: Tropical Storm Sara is expected to weaken. No threat to Florida!

Great info. Keep up the good work man.
Thank you! 🙏
I was catching big Spanish mackerel last week on fingerling mullet
Awesome!
Don't forget that the North Jetty is closed until July. You can still fish west of the bridge, or at the South Jetty.
I also included the latest forecast of a potential storm that the National Hurricane Center is monitoring. No threat to us yet, but we need to keep an eye on it.
NEW VIDEO 👉 Sebastian Inlet North Jetty SHUT DOWN for Months! ua-cam.com/video/21H6KpBoUtA/v-deo.html
Just a new update for everyone, the north jetty is NOW CLOSED for the remainder of the project duration. As of this morning Friday 11/ 8.. Have a great weekend all. We will keep you all updated on the progress. Have a safe veterans day!!
Thank you for the update!
Great report Andy! I talked with the district this afternoon while was down there, and they told me that the jetty would probably still be open through Monday, veterans day, since it's a holiday. But I suggest anyone wanting to go, call the park to double check on the status. Cheers!
Thanks Wayne! I hope this weather clears up because the seas are crazy! But it may continue as long as we have those 2 disturbances to the south.
From what I saw in the weather, it is supposed to lighten up some over the weekend. But this is florida, ya never know this time of year. Stay tuned!
My favorite fishing spot❤
I love Sebastian inlet ❤❤❤
What's the story on the 2 piers under the bridge that have been closed for long time now? Are they ever going to be reopened? Great spot to fish and terrific view
Those areas, the catwalks were closed by FDOT back in early 2023, after hurricane Ian and Nichol gave us a visit. The under structure of the bridge was damaged, and pieces of concrete were falling down, plus the railings were in such bad shape, someone was going to get hurt or fut on them, so they closed them forever! New catwalks will be built under the new bridges when they are built.
Great update Andy! Thanks
Heres some news straight from the diagrict and the park managment. When the project gets atarted, the ENTIRE area between tbe bridge and jetty, including tbe seawall and rocks will be Off limits to the public and anglers! It will all be fenced off as a hard hat/ safety vest construction zone. I got this from them this morning, monday 10/ 28.
So if I got a vest and hard hat I can still fish
Lol, no! There will be too much work to do, you won't have time. Gotta be done by July 1st!!
Andy, why did they place so many new, No Parking signs along A1A? All of the places families, surfers and fishermen have used for decades look to be off limits now, plus the signs ruin the beautiful roadsides.
The yankees were parking there and leaving trash everywhere. They ruined it, just like the rest of Florida
I heard parking along the road was become a safety concern.
@ Thank you for the reply Andy. The signs 🪧 aren’t very nice looking, and I do feel bad about the Surfers and Fisherman losing access. Again, thank you.
South Jetty is going to be WILD
Lol. Not really, because most north side people don't know where, and how to fish tge south side! It wasn't bad when the north jetty was closed during hurricane Nichol for several months in 2022 to 2023.
That's why the North jetty has been so busy recently, people are trying to get their last fishing trips in before it closes.
I’m hoping they complete this project sooner than July. One more week of fishing at the North Jetty until the summer.
@surfstarcc1 just an update on the fishing on the north jetty, I went down today and the black drum were biting pretty good, along with redfish, Jack's and a few Spanish mackerel. Dead shrimp was what the drum wanted. Oh, and I did see a few very nice bull whiting caught too. The finger mullet were scarce, and the weeds were pretty much gone. All the drum were at the tip on outgoing. Cheers!
@@WayneLandry-m9n thanks for the update!!! Only thing we were finding over the weekend was a bunch of Jack a few ladyfish and a couple blues.
Oh, and I forgot to mention, they were catching black drum on the tip of the south jetty also, beach side.
Shine On☝️🕊️✌️🤙😃🪶
Lots of pier hoggers gonna be mad😂 Palm Bay here thanks for the update subbed
Are there plans to rebuild the catwalk?
Not until 2026 when they build the new bridge
Thank you for answering. I appreciate what you do with the channel!
A lot of rumors about bridge closing. Any up dates on that would be appreciated in the future. Thanks
I don’t have any updates on that yet. Their target date is 2026 to begin construction. I’m sure more there will be more info about it soon.
@hungarianflounder9595 forgot to mention earlier, one of my friends went to the last sebastian commission meeting last month about the bridge project, and he told me they are NOT going to close the bridge at all. They will be starting, when they do, with the 2 north bound lanes on the west side of the existing bridge, then when that's done, close the existing bridge, use the new one for both north and south bound traffic, and start the south bound 2 lanes on the west side of the new bridge. That's all I've heard so far.
We have one more week of fishing on the North Jetty until it's closed for repairs. ⚠
Awesome reporting as always Andy! Thanks so much for posting this info for us. I've had so many people ask what's going on with it, and I share what the district folks relayed to me. Rumors are abundant, but I will keep you folks updated with any news I get from them. Cheers!
Thank you! 🙏
It looks like these jacks are being left to rot on the jetty. If you're not going to eat or keep them or keep them for shark bait, they should be let go!
I completely agree! Leaving them to dry out is the worst. There's also a problem when people catch live mullet off the jetty. They leave anything extra to dry out in the sun instead of just taking what they need and returning the rest.
i wouldnt give my dogs those jacks to eat....why?
I wouldn’t either.. but a lot of people say jack crevalle can be good to eat when prepared properly. They also say it has a firm flesh and great flavor, while others say it's a delicacy when cooked in brine and then seared. But I’ll wait for the snook bite.
Because you don't know how to cook them. If you fillet it properly like a bluefish Spanish mackerel. You can't freeze them has to be cooked immediately
@@SebastianInletFishingexactly if you want to get crazy and soak it in Citrus nobody will know what it is. It tastes amazing
One of my buddies and I kept 5 of them about 2 or so pounds. We bled them asap, put them on ice then filleted them. He took them home and smoked them on his treager pellet smoker, man were they great!!
@WayneLandry-m9n it says in the old Florida cracker cookbooks, one of the most underrated eating fish if prepared properly
