The Rav speaks about medicinal vs recreational cannibis, where the former appears to be permissible halachakly given that it has a therapeutic benefit, whereas there are problems that arise from recreational use and the pursuit of experiencing a mind alteration. An issue the Rav does not address is those who may not have a prescription under medical guidance from a physician who use cannibis for self-medication or who feel they have a therapeutic need for it. Excellent shiur. I have listened to a few shiurim by Rav Asher Weis on this subject but Rav Breitowitz's shiur is a lot easier to digest. Yasher Koach. I was just wondering why a similar shiur has not been uploaded on the Ohr Somayach channel. Has the Rav even given this shiur to the boys there?

I wish I could hear this and retain it. I’ve watched you lecture on this topic through Yiboneh. There’s a lot of nuance, and so many interesting angles. Too many than I can retain. I wish I could say that this shiur makes me feel better. Torah does, to be true. Perhaps simply knowing that there’s enough nuance gives some personal peace. I am expecting an emotional roller coaster over the next several weeks.
