Turning 4.75 J Concepts Landmines into 2.2s - The Ultimate Class 3 LCG Crawler Tire ?
Переглядів 1,7 тис.Рік тому
Wanting to try and improve the performance of my Class 3 Flatgekko C23 competition crawler, I decided that the 2.2 Ruptures were too big for competitions but wanted something bigger than 4.75 - I saw that @westdesertwheeler2666 had made some "cut and shut" 2.2 tires from some 4.75s so I thought I would have a go with a set of J Concepts Landmines. Hi mate, are those axles for the scx10 iii? If so are they solid one piece versions?
What are vise grips you are using ?

Where can I get the template
What foams did you go with for these. I'm looking at making a set of 1.9 cut n shuts on 2.2 loaded dice wheels for my poizd t3 v2 cheater build. Thanks mate great video explaining where and how to cut n shut them.
i used some proline 2.2 foams that i cut down
Doesn't sound fun cutting down foams. Are there any foams that are made for these tire/wheel combo. Other than printed styles
@@chadschneider4856 the other way would be to stretch 1.9 foams over and then add the outer from a 2.2 foam
That sounds like a better option. What about just getting some 5.25 foams like that come with the tusk 5.25s and stretch them on 2.2's? I'm going to be running loaded dice 2.2 wheels is my plan so they will be glue on tires. Might just be easier to get 3d printed inserts/foams.
Are you using stock foams? If not what. I jus got some of these and foams feel very stiff dor crawling.
proline duel stage
Where did u get ur wheels from??
they are Punks Custom Wheels
Super , ça donne envie de connaître ce chassis , est il vendu avec des liens spécifiques selon les essieus ?
How many degree your ervo ? And how many kg ? Thank you
not sure what you mean by ERVO, the weight is 2.6 kg
Super cool share of your buddies rig!
Thanks for watching, it is a great rig
Where is this club ??
It is in Bedford UK
Awesome tutorial. 👍🏾
Glad you liked it!
Awesome Build my Friend 🎉Congrats 🎊🐼👌🏻
Thanks, I can't wait to see how we do this year
You're welcome my Friend ❤ Looking forward to watch 💪🏻🏆👌🏻🍻
Looking good Ian. 👍
Thank you mate, exciting times
Need a diff body?? To comp there are so many chassis, this looks nice. Simple and mean!
Thanks, its a great chassis, works so well. The body was a bit of a mission, we have to have a minimum height, so I had to build up the roof. But is makes a change from a RC4WD body
It's great to see innovation anywhere in the RC hobby as a whole. Interesting design concept, process & material for sure. I'm certainly looking forward to seeing yours when it arrives.
Its what makes the hobby so engaging, cant wait to run it
We're is it ?
Where is what?
How much stress testing has been done? Polycarbonate windows in race cars stress and crack over time. Is this a new type of poly?
There are so many different types of polycarbonate, you can pretty much tune the flex and shatter. remember the plastic rulers you had at school, some would bend almost back on themselves and others would shatter when you hit them on the desk
@LCG_Crawler didn't know you could tune polycarbonate. Cool having a see through chassis. Hope the new chassis works out well.
Polycarbonate is not gonna last too long, imo the edges are a weakness...but we will not know until its in the world.....
It will be interesting to see, Carbon Fibre has issues with edges too.
🔥🔥🔥Amazing 🔥🔥🔥when they’re available please put me on the list. I’m definitely interested.
They are available to pre order now for April delivery, see the description for where you can get yours
What an amazing reimagined Rockcrawler. I cannot believe where things have gone in the last few years. From my steel frame RTR Rockcrawler. To this amazing chassis. I’ll be keeping my eye out. Love to get my hands on one of these. Chassis.
Thanks for your comment, it is an amazing time to be in the hobby - can't wait to try one of these
Looks good
It does!
I’ve tried finding aLCG for the GMade BOM, with zero luck.
Hey there, great video, thanks for sharing!!! I’m new to comp crawling and planning to go to my first P-Scale event in Germany this year. My rigs a 2.5kg VRD Carbon, and I’m planning to run Hyrax Predator on 1.9“ wheels. The foams I want to use are Lil Nova Comp Cut, soft in the front and medium in the rear, like I’m already using (4.25“ no tuning ring) in my Louise Champs for fun crawling in the woods so far. Great traction there, but I think for crawling on rocks the contact patch is too big, and steering could be better. Which diameter of the CI inner foams would you use on the rocks? I’m thinking about 4.5 and maybe the discs to fill up the tires properly to the sidewalls, and would you run the tuning rings in the Hyrax? Sorry for so many questions, but I’m really impressed about your driving and overall knowledge 😊 Greetings from Munich 👋
I would go with the 4.5 - the Hyrax is not a small tire - thanks for reaching out and good luck
@@LCG_Crawler thanks for answering, I really appreciate it
Love the shock very much... Please help, how can i do for like this? Or what kind of shock like that? The name?
They are a modified Schmacher racing shock, I have since changed to Desert Lizards which work even better
Very cool model!😊🎉
Thanks! 😄
Proline tires work in wet conditions, swampers or krawlers.
yes, they are great. my go to tire is either Jconcepts Tusk or Lamphrey
Saw channel name instantly subbed. Nice course capable rigs! Love the purple car
Awesome! Thank you!
Wow love those unimogish body, great build and excellent performer. That give me some ideas for my next build 👍
Go for it! It looks even better in person
Hi. Great video. Do u have a video of your shocks on the truck?? I'd like to see how they works in real life.
I haven't made one yet, I will try and do one, I plan on doing a video of each of my comp builds soon
@@LCG_Crawler perfect, thanks for reply
Sam's caiman is a beast, very capable.
It really is
road trip i want in on the next one
Its going to be an amazing spot
nice rig bro. it looks a bit unusual...rarely do other people use this body for rock crawling. fans from Malaysia.
It's great for crawlers with forward skid
Nice
Thanks
What pivot balls did you use from injora?
I used Axial pivot balls
Deathly very happy for you brother
Nicely done! i'll be trying this with my crawler and sharing your vid to my group . cheers!
Thank you, let me know how you get on
What type of spur gear fits I'm having trouble with my'n
I use Axial scx10 2 Spur great
@@LCG_Crawler slipper eliminator or not
Hey, what spur gear assembly brand are you using? Is this a 56t spur gear with a 13t pinion?
Little tip, for changing springs on the shaft. Just wind the spring in or off the shock. Less faff and no chance of marring the shaft or seals.
thanks, good tip, i will give it s try
what is your setup droop / sprung ? which setup is better for Axial wraith ? thx
I have them set up with about 85% droop
I just spent hours working with these shocks for my K10 ascender. Not the easiest to shocks to set up. Should of watched this video first. 😎😎👍👍
Hope it helped, they are great when they get set up right
Thank you for your best info, in Malaysia many people play Lcg🇲🇾👍
You are welcome - Malasia must be a great place for LCG Crawlers for sure
If you don't glue your fingers together then your are using super glue wrong
Thats so true
A link to those swivel balls would be great
I think they are Axial AXI234004
I know you said what springs you are going to install, but i dont think you mentioned what rig you run. I run a gen8 v2 which is kind of heavy. it would be nice to know what you run so i can have an ideal of what spring set up i would like to try. Thanks :)
So this set up works for most competition rigs, its more about the weight of the axles rather than the rig as it is in droop most of the time - if your rig in over 3kg you might consider going for the medium strength spring down the tube
These setup videos, regardless of the content provider, need a drive video to demonstrate how the shocks work in a real world environment. Otherwise, good video, well explained 👍
Great point, i will try and do a running video - from a competition point of view the set up in winning comps so I am happy
I built mine the same way, actually hinders the performance on the rocks
Compared to what? @@BradHewson
✅ "promosm"
Many thanks for the video, I also drive the dampers in my crawler and it helps me! Thanks!
Glad it helped
That’s a cool body, what is it?
Its a Montech Rock body
