1:00 Why do you have to release the hand brake when you are on level ground in the garage? I would never pull the handbrake in these conditions. You only risk it freezing up. More of a problem for the drum brakes, but anyways. Nevbertheless: the 2CV is one of the best cars to drive in winterly conditions. Just remember: downhill, no more heating...

I wonder if... with a lathe a converter nipple from Citroen to the standard flares we're all used to could be employed along with a flexi pipe to save the coil and all that faff? Just a thought that could be stupid...?

We went to a remote pub up a dirt track in England. Every car but the Citroen Ami that was there got stuck when the snow came in.

I had a 2cv and once passed an Audi quattro in the snow. The snow was so deep the Audi acted like a snowplough and has a big pile of snow in front of it and came to a halt with all four wheels spinning. The 2cv just drove straight over the snow with its high ground clearance.

In Spain, during the 2021 Filomena snowstorm (the one that left centuries-record heights of snow and covered in snow even places that had never been snowed over since the XVII century), a couple vids became viral; that of an old 2CV (proudly bearing the name of the local ironmonger's bussines on its side) performing mountain rescue of stuck cars and then _literally_ driving circles around them to show off, and that of a modern 4WD off-roader trying to navigate 50 cm of snow in the street and getting stuck - while another old 2CV chugged along merrily, overtaking it. So yeah, not surprised at all.

I remember my first ride in snow with my 2CV6 in 1988. All other cars got stuck at the hills, no matter if BMW or Mercedes. The Michelin X tires were really good in winter. The major problem was just the freezing inside of the windshield ...whenever I had to stop. So I decided to buy a blower motor for about 25,- to solve that problem. Some poking around to mount it , but after that it worked fine. Greetings from Sauerland.

The 2CV is a stunning example of how far ahead of the rest of the world the French were (and still are) in terms of transportation technology, and how simple solutions are still functional, many years later. The 2 CV's capabilities are why they had such a hard time every time they tried to stop making them. They jus do so much, so well. Viva la France !!

Hi and thanks for the video I have been building cars myself for 40 years and when I encounter the problem of brake pipes that are stuck and want to break I do the following 1) loosen pipes as you also did 2) Then remove the bolts from the cylinder and pull it out from the anchor plate 3) then I unscrew the cylinder without breaking the pipe 4) same procedure when assembling the rear lens so no problem

Very nice. I’m a massive racing fan but we had twin girls, and both now play netball, and one has fallen off every motorcycle or quad she’s gotten onto so I don’t think racing is for her lol. Great project and I hope Jensen enjoys it! A tool kit is an awesome present for a young fella also.

It’s mentionned « 2 CV4 »… But the engine isn’t a 2CV4 engine. Obviously, it’s a 2CV6 engine… When I change to the 2CV6 engine, I also change the gearbox…to fit a disc brakes one. 😢😢

That's a dang cool build. Love the innovative suspension, lol.

2 cv 4 with only 23 HP and 431ccm was the worst engine they did for the 2cv. Better change it to the 28 HP with 600 ccm which runs far better, faster and not so heavy noisy... Might have better tho check before having a ride.

2CV's glide over snow because they're light.
