    Why does it seem to be lost on everyone in the comments that neither of the interviewers actually asked Elon why SpaceX lands rockets at sea? They just told him to talk about the progress he'd made with SpaceX and he's the one who brought up landing rockets at sea.

      No he didn't. He said: when your outward radial acceleration equals the inward acceleration of gravity, then gravity is zero. His first mistake, radial acceleration is not outward like he said. It is inward, towards the center of the earth. And his second mistake, gravity is never zero like he said. Because if it was zero, satellites would fly into outer space, they wouldn't stay in orbit

    • @emergencyCALL911

      @@christoforosmeziriadis9135 A: He said _"net_ zero gravity", not "zero gravity". B: By pointing out that he used the wrong term when he said "outward radial acceleration" all you've demonstrated is that he used the wrong term, not that he doesn't understand the underlying concepts.

      Even "net zero gravity is wrong". Because if it was zero, satellites would not stay in orbit, they would fly into outer space. And also, radial acceleration is not outward, it is inward, toward the center of the earth. Musk thinks he is a physics genius, but he only has a Bachelor of Arts degree in physics. 1:52 i get it, the question of why land core stage on ship ocean he could have said instead for others to understand it easier is: *to land it back it requires alot of fuel, because the rocket has accelerated way further then the boosters, we can’t just cut the core stage too early because we need the core stage to push the adapter stage and adaptor stage put payload into correct orbit, it needs way more fuel and more fuel more weight and more weight its more expensive, so the easier choice is just to slow enough to at least land on way to ocean and ship would carry it back*

    Imagine just over 130 years ago being able to listen to this man would not have been possible.. Just being able to hear his great speech would have been a mystery and magic. Radio was invented in 1895 so before that we would only be able to read about him in books and not get this full experience.. In the future we will have holographic then fully physical tangible recordings of great people like Elon Musk talking so we can experience his speeches and lectures in person as if he is in the same room as us speaking and then the next stage is literally feeling him and being able to shake his hand or hug or high five him while he is making a speech and then actually talk with him.. The future is great my friends we will enjoy this all for our lifetimes... Oh and I bet in the future we will even be able to be him and live his life through his eyes and eventually through his body basically as if we were Elon Musk doing the things he did in a kind of 10D cinema being plugged directly into him. Overcome your fears walls and obstacles and be the best that you can be!

    This is why he should let me email him ideas. I solved the issue of fuel limitations for returning his rockets. Or maybe i emailed them at space x... i was really drunk. I remember now. So i was working out two concepts to create fuel for the rocket as it falls. One is centrifugal force. And yes i mean centrifugal. Not centripetal. To create fuel mixtures from atmosphere. But i didnt like that one much. So i came up with a much better design. Id love to email them. To give them the idea... but.

    Musk: "the reason things stay in orbit, is because your outward radial acceleration, equals the inward acceleration of gravity". Musk is wrong, "radial acceleration", is not outward like he said, it is towards the center of the earth. Even I know this, and I'm not a rocket scientist

    • @christoforosmeziriadis9135

      The rope example has nothing to do with what Musk said. He said radial acceleration is outward. He is wrong. It is inward. You can read the definition of radial acceleration if you don't believe me

    • @emergencyCALL911
      @emergencyCALL911 Рік тому

      @@christoforosmeziriadis9135 The fact that you think the rope example has nothing to do with what Elon said indicates that while you know the terminology, you don't understand the concepts, whereas he understands the concepts, even if he doesn't get 100% of the terminology right 100% of the time.

    • @christoforosmeziriadis9135
      @christoforosmeziriadis9135 Рік тому

      I'm afraid you're wrong. If you attach an object at the end of the rope and swing it, it goes in circles. If you stop swinging, the object will not fall towards the other end of the rope. If a satellite stops moving, it will fall to the ground, and if the ground didn't exist, the satellite would keep moving toward the center of the earth. That's radial acceleration

    • @emergencyCALL911
      @emergencyCALL911 Рік тому

      @@christoforosmeziriadis9135 There's still radial acceleration when an object is swung at the end of a rope. The centripetal force causing the radial acceleration is created by your hand holding the rope and resisting the inertia of the object at the end, which would cause it to fly off in a direction tangential to the edge of the circle if you were to let go. When you stop swinging, the rope becomes slack and your hand ceases to exert a force on the object at the end. That's why it doesn't fly towards your hand. In the orbital example, the force of gravity is constant and doesn't cease when the tangential velocity decreases.
