Redshift OTV qualified for flight

We have completed a full duration hot fire of the fully integrated Redshift OTV, qualifying it for flight. As always, our approach for this hot fire was to get as close to the real thing as possible. First fire! We have successfully kicked off the hot fire campaign for our first stage at SaxaVord Spaceport. We hot-fired a total of four Helix engines, igniting one by one at four second interval. RFA successfully hot fires Helix engine for a total of 74 seconds 74 seconds! This is the total time we have now hotfired our Helix in flight configuration. The test campaign consisted of three tests of 4, 30 and 40 seconds each - without the need to replace any components on the engine. 280 bar pressure, 25 kg/s mass flow…our preburner is the heart of our staged combustion engine! The exhaust gases from its oxygen-rich combustion drive the turbopump and are then fed to the main engine. I literally live next to the Rocket Factory of Augsburg. I can see it from my window haha. I never knew exactly what they are even doing. That’s kinda interesting because i am just sitting on my bed, seeing their lights still turned on and wanted to know what they actually do. So i ended up here haha 😂
Is the engine sea level optimized or vacuum? Just curious because the space one would need vacuum op but to test you may need sl op

@@BurkhardusX really? You expected them to get to orbit without a RUD? Tell me without telling, John Snow. Here's a PSA: space is hard. SpaceX may make it look easy, but even they have their share of hiccups despite being the most experienced launch provider out there.
@@Keiranful Thanks for the PSA - though in this case, it seems more like a 'Personal Stupidity Announcement.' Space may be hard, but this rocket didn’t even make it off the ground - it didn’t move one meter towards space. As Qui-Gon Jinn once said, "The ability to speak does not make you intelligent." It’s interesting how you casually dismiss this disaster as just part of the process. The rocket didn’t even lift off - the engine exploded right after ignition. Even the Augsburger Allgemeine describes the incident as a "disaster" and a "serious setback." So, it’s not exactly something you can brush off as a routine part of learning. Given that the rocket didn’t fly even a millimeter, it’s understandable why I view this as an embarrassment for Europe. Next time, you might want to reconsider your overconfident statement before giving lessons on the hardships of space travel.
