What grit do you use for the sandpaper?
Nice job! Exactly what I was looking for in particular the detail process of hanging a prehung door .. Heading out to grab me some shims :) ,. Thank you! ...
Perfect video of showing exactly how to put up alone other videos I’ve come across used drywall lifts just spending unnecessary money but thank you for this video 😊
Glad it was helpful!
My ceilings are 10'6". Minus 4 ' I'm looking at 6' 6'" at the bottom of the sheetrock. I got this!!!! ;-)
Wow great tip
Wish I saw your video yesterday… but mine was higher and it was a whole drywall.
good info!
what a smart dude!
you made fun of the corner trowel but yet you used it
I don’t use it. I’m showing people how to use it if they went and bought one.
@@handymadman gotcha! my bad.. you did a great job applying in the corners.. im a first year painter who does some repair work.. have a hard time applying the corners
Taping is like playing a musical instrument. It takes a lot of practice. And those that have a lot of practice make it look easy. But it’s not! There are some heavier tapes that may help get the project done until you get there. With enough practice you will!
@@handymadman i meant to say.. spackling in the corners
i’m a painter and trying to work on spackling etc.. more the repair sides of things..i have a difficult time spreading mud in the corners..i can only go a couple inches at a time.. any advice on applying better?
Brilliant thank you for sharing!
Lemme send 5 dollars to yo cash app
Lol that’s not even the hole sheet plus is 1/2 inch lol

I think I need to produce a prehung door video. This is the strangest/most confusing demonstration ever that I’ve seen for installing a prehung. 1. Leave door on hinges! 2. Install casing on face that will be installed (hinge pin face) using 18ga/1 1/4” brad 3.Place door frame into rough opening, onto fat end of shim between hinge jamb and rough floor - creates play for leveling head jamb reveal. 4. Place 4’ or 6’ (superfluous) level on hinges, pivoting door from floor to head as needed for plumb. Check placement within rough opening width - approximately centered. 5. Nail casing to framing upon plumb reading using 16ga x 2” or 2 1/2” gun: 2” up to 9/16” stock. 6. Level head casing reveal and tack one nail to framing opposite of hinge side. 7. Tack one 16ga to framing on strike-side casing. 8. View and check even door/door stop contact from opposite side of door. 9. Nail casing to framing while maintaining even reveals upon confirming even stop contact. 10. Nail frame sides to framing. 11. Attach casing on other door face. Hollow-core x 6/8 doors really don’t require shims. These doors don’t weigh enough to challenge adequate jamb-to-framing/casing-to-framing nailing. I have 25+ years experience installing doors and trim. The method I outlined above has worked consistently for no callbacks on hundreds of interior doors. Similar methods for insulated exterior doors, but screws/shims added.
This is the dumbest comment yet! I take the door off because it’s lighter. It makes easy work of it. If you have a system that works for you, have at it. But why are you here?
Just saved me millions lol😂
This is the one that helped me get the concept rather than memorizing a method, nice man, thank you!!
I’m Happy I could help!!
exactly what I needed to get the job done and looking good, thanks for sharing
Thank you!! You ROCK!!
You're welcome!
thanks you sir
why not do the bottom piece first so you can just prop the top piece up unto it?
Always start at the top. We want a nice tight fit at the top and it hold the ceiling. We also need to keep it off of the floor to avoid wicking up moisture
Very nice. Check out this guy. He really tries to teach you to diy.. ua-cam.com/video/ftR0duwituc/v-deo.html
Thank you
Awesome Video. Very informative. Thank you Sir. I will get my doors hung properly now!!!
Right on
Ah man, I'd tear into this but he looks like he could kick my ass lol
buy yourself a syringe and an applicator flusher you will go much faster friend 👌
No glue?
No glue is necessary for this application.
I think glue is for nails?
I have never seen a hanger set his t square against the wall with the t at the top. The get tweaked out of square surprisingly easy. I also have never seen a hanger mark the stud out with a pencil, but it is probably a good idea. Most hangers just put a few nails along the top of the board. Hold the board to the ceiling and nail to hold the board into place, then screw off the sheet. I was never as accurate as I wanted to be and had a lot of misses. Oh well
It’s just a t square I’m not using it to build the space shuttle.
Yeah man, if I'm on UA-cam typing in "how do do dry wall by myself", I'm also not looking for the space shuttle specialist.
Please keep doing this kind of videos !!
Just a tip for beginners, The sheet must be measured from the corner to the center of the last stud. 3/4 inch is the center.
Try that with12 foot fire code drywal
It’s even better then!
Smart af
Dam you made that look easy!
Good video keep it going. Great camera too
Thanks for watching
Can you share some tips on how to mark and cut out for outlet box's? Thank you Sir.
what grit is your sanding block ? Great videos !
One of the standard sponges you can get at the drywall isle is about 120 but get finer as you use it. I prefer the pointed one so I don’t gouge the other side of the corner I’ll post a link for what I prefer Your friend has shared a link to a Home Depot product they think you would be interested in seeing. www.homedepot.com/p/3M-2-7-8-in-x-8-in-x-1-in-7-30-cm-x-20-32-cm-x-2-54-cm-Grit-Extra-Large-Fine-Angled-Drywall-Sanding-Sponge-2-Pack-910-DSA-12-2PK/301657982
Bad Ass Brother, thanks
Your welcome!
Thanks for the info!!
very good - especially like the trick of loosening the hinge to help get the pin in.
Glad I could help
You are the best! Thank you for all your efforts .
Thank you😊
I don't take the door out.
Thank you sir, i had no clue on what was the best way to get my repaired ceiling done correctly..glad I found your channel.. subbed😎✌🏻
Very clever. Cheers mate - I don't even need to lift mine. This tip will come in very handy.
It helps when you have your feet steady on the ground.
For a solid core mdf, what will be different?
Nothing! Just a little heavier but installing it is the same
🤣🤣 I just bought one of those corner trowels
He was savage about the corner trowel lol
it is harder when you are on a 15 ft ladder. what do you do when the ceilings are really high?
set up scaffolds!
