Susan and Terry Jacks Music Hop (Let's Go) 1966
Susan Jacks was a regular performer on Music Hop (Let's Go) from the age of 15, soon to be 16. In the spring of 1966, she and Terry met for the first time when he appeared as a guest on Music Hop for the filming of a tribute to the British invasion. Susan was 17 and Terry was 22. That fall, Susan would happen to ask Terry to accompany her on rhythm guitar for an engagement she had. The Poppy Family would evolve over the next few months when Craig McCaw joined them on lead guitar, later introducing Satwant Singh to complete their signature sound.

She had an incredible voice, and the fact that she was only 16 when she did this show is just amazing.
I recorded “That’s Where I Went Wrong” off of AM radio onto my dads Sears reel to reel in 69 or 70 and even though the sound was awful I played it countless times. I finally got to Wallacs Music City and bought the 45 and “Which Way You Going Billy” I was truly enchanted by her and her voice. I never thought to stalk her though (I was 13 years old);
Let's not forget the people who may be getting ready to go again. If the morons keep it up. I might only be a few miles away, hiding in the woods. Might not be able to make it home very often. Lots of work to be done .probably easy, how hard can it be to catch a chicken running around without a head.
Then why couldn't more of them wait?Never been but I am pretty sure a dear John letter wasn't the best incentive to make it home. Maybe a text would be better. You can get one of them on the way home from grocery store.

If Billy went to nam he was unlikely to come back to a woman who would sing this song. As much as I love her music. Well?she loved him so much?She should have been a WAC.

Fast forward this video to 5:05 and then again to 7:28 Susan Jacks was far more than "just" the woman who sang 'Which way you going Billy'. She was awesome. Canada's greatest female vocalist of all time yet few even know she existed.
