Canderous' experience with the yuuzhan vong
Переглядів 16 тис.3 роки тому
This is part of Canderous' war story in Kotor 1
Yuuzhan Vong is much much better than the first order & somehow palpatine returned.
This was just an Easter egg. The Yuuzhan Vong were never meant to be part of George Lucas’s canon. If he had made his own sequel trilogy, they would have been retconned.
The Mandalorians encountered a Vong Yorik-stronha bioship based on Canderous’ description
A😊
yush did revisit and xD damn Gizkas jumping around xD
Yuuzhan Vong
Most likely a Scoutship scouting for habitable Galaxies under Warmaster Zaal’s Orders
Yuh
If the YV fled their galaxy to the Star Wars galaxy, then one Worldship arriving ahead of the others isn't so impossible. Consider; going even a tiny bit faster meant that it would arrive millennia beforehand, and it would be all by itself. Sending out scouts to find habitable worlds they could hunker down on would be the smartest thing to do, and it seems as if this scoutship had all but given up and gone to sleep until the Mandalorians woke it up. It probably did emerge from hyperspace, but it's unlikely the YV aboard the worldship ever got to a world, and the lucky few just blended in without truly being noticed. Several times in the New Jedi Order books the worldships were described as being in, at best, passable shape only, and if this one arrived first with no support, it's not hard to imagine that this batch of YV simply didn't make it.

I emailed Drew Karpyshyn, a writer for KOTOR, and asked him about this. This was his response: Hi, Thanks for the email; it’s always good to hear from someone who enjoys my work! And you’re right - Canderous’s story was a nod to the Yuuzhan Vong. We couldn’t have them in the game, so we put this Easter egg in instead. Drew

Lol when I was a kid listening to this I began thinking omg is he talking about finding an early vong scout ship? I got a guide book a few years earlier where I first learned about them.
Wow, so that WAS Yuuzhan Vong?? I had my huge suspicions but I doubt it but seeing you guys left behind comments convince me even more. Damn, that's so crazy 🤯.
Likely a coralskipper
@@EternalEmperorofZakuul Either way it was just for an Easter egg. Sad that Yuuzhan in its entirety got cancelled from Star wars completely now.
I don’t hate the sith emperor being the thing that Revan left the galaxy to fight, nor do I hate any of how it played into SWTOR, but it would’ve been reasonably awesome had it been the Yuuzhan Vong
Imagine the YV not invading because they saw how powerful the Sith and Jedi were, so they bid their time for invasion
@@EternalEmperorofZakuul the idea of that is really funny, particularly because the Galaxy had super weapons coming out of their ass during the Old Republic era, whereas the Vong checking back in closer to the Battle of Yavin and being like “you’re not gonna believe this, they’ve only got one weapon that could remotely threaten us and some little blonde twink keeps blowing it up lmao.”
“more humans” was abit disappointing for me
@@EternalEmperorofZakuul The Yuuzhan Vong aren’t affected by the Force, so I doubt the Jedi and Sith’s Force powers would’ve contributed to anything.
@@Bauglir100 Darth krayt be like Interesting interesting
Thank you for this, I absolutely love the vibe it gives in this awesome game. Kotor is so immersing and kashyyyk and the other planets are done so well in giving you that.
Anyone see the new episode of the Bad Batch? All I could think of during the Kashyyyk episode was this piece especially when a certain creature showed up. 😆
It's crazy to think that this was back when the Yuuzhan Vong War was considered canon.
well thanks to disney we wont get a Slightest chance to see it being live action or animated
@@danielalbertalexander9064 The Grysks are shaping up to be an interesting parallel of the Yuuzhan Vong though.
@@beeceepedia3784 But like everything with Disney, it will be watered down and not half as cool or interesting as it was in Legends.
@@beeceepedia3784 meh.. im pretty sure they come from the unknown regions, right? While that is cool and all I think the threat coming from a different, dead, galaxy is farrr more interesting
@@beeceepedia3784 Also, why not just call them the Yuuhzan Vong? Thats essentially what they are, just less violent. I dont see the need to change the name either.
Yeah I've been looking for video clip of this as i recently saw on Yuuzhan Vong Wookipedia page that they had a indirect mention in this game👍
Its POSSIBLE in THEORY that this is a Vong ship, but it seems unlikely. This was what? 4000 years before the invasion? The Vong invaded because their galaxy was running out of resources, which speaks to a desperation. So either the spent 4000 years preparing for and in transit to the invasion of the galaxy or this is just a coincidence. Besides which, it conflicts with the Outbound Flight narrative. Palpatine ordered the Outbound Flight destroyed so that they would not accidentally alert the Vong gathering in dark space and prompt an early invasion. I dont know, it just doesn't add up to me.
Wrong, its the Vong.
I love how the Yuuzhan Vong are depicted as mysterious creatures of horror. Like how we depict UFOS or something we don’t know in the sky
I know it's awesome. Really adds to the creepy factor.
it's absolutely a different take on them, but the way they're described as Grey Aliens visiting to scout the known galaxy in that unmade TCW arc sounds like it carries that spirit still
@@adambomber3384which one was this
@@dantewilliams2757 I'm not completely certain, but it sounds like it would've been an arc about the Outer Rim sieges. I figure George just liked their designs though, because they wouldn't have been Force immune, supposedly
@@adambomber3384 Dave Filoni said it would have been an X-files and Alien Abduction type story. Sounds amazing.
I wonder if the yuuzhan vong were planning on invading during the old republic era but canderous and his mandalorians stopped them.Or they were simply scouting the galaxy before being discovered by canderous and his men.Perhaps the vong retreated because they didn't want to compromise their plans for their eventual invasion and/or fail to report to their superiors.
The second option is the most reasonable. Fighting Canderous Ordo and his men would had ruined forever years of undercover work at the edge of the galaxy, making the Republic conscious of an unknown species scouting the asteroid fields of the Crispin System. The yuuzhan vong are warring zealots, that is for sure, but they are not stupid.
@@cristiamjulianayalape agreed
@@CloneScavengerVulpin8389 After all, if you want to conquer it is better to have the very best strategists instead of brute mooks.
@@cristiamjulianayalape true
@@CloneScavengerVulpin8389 That is what I find a little bit funny about the yuuzhan vong: at first sight they are your average uruk-hai like mooks but when you truly know them they become a fearsome and smart adversary.
Is there any indication from the books that confirms Canderous encountered the Yuuzhan Vong?
No one. It's just an easter egg.
Also what else could it be??

This music sounds like the perfect surprise attack soundtrack. Like an ambush in some way. But that’s my opinion.
It pretty much is. It plays whenever some creature of the shadows jumps out to attack you
I always thought it was one of the star forge stations
Nope was a yuuzhan vong scout ship

@@cristiamjulianayalape it’s located on the outer border of wild space
