Went out of dana wharf aboard the 3/4 day "sum fun" and got into some BIG BLUEFIN TUNA. As soon as the fog lifted the fish were everywhere in the dirty water! 6 bites landing 3 is great on a 3/4 day boat. Hope the bite stays hot!
With star drags, I set them at 70 percent of what I believe would be the appropriate amount to stop the fish without breaking the line given line class. You can always give it a bit more but once that fish is gone.... Try it, don't be the guy that loses the fish and causes the school to move on
@@jamesjacobs1901 yeah I thought it was a just a bigger fish but the combo of a 9’ glass rod and a burnt torium really didn’t help me out on that fish. Next time I’ll be ready for if that happens!

Yes this was haha these two trips had the same moon phase as well. One of the reasons I went back out. He kept me focused when I was tired. I think I watched this full fight 15 times already haha. Was a very awesome moment
I've watched it lots too. When is the next good moon phase? Would like to try for tuna if action stays hot. Had a blast on the Sum Fun 3/4 day dorado a few times last summer but not at all as hard-core as this!
