I just stumbled over your video. I was a pattern maker many years ago, a few twists and turns in my career, Im now quite good at using AutoCad. You got me thinking, combining my knowledge might give me the side hustle I'm looking for. I'd love to see more content like this.

Hi Jen, I'm putting together content for my own youtube channel. It will contain tips/tricks and tutorials for pattern making, as well as pattern grading. I hope to launch by September. Once I have content up, I will most likely offer more in depth classes and live streams on a subscription basis. I'll make sure to message you when that becomes available.

Hey everyone. Thanks for watching the video. I'm the pattern maker in the video and for a long time, I've been considering starting my own youtube channel to teach some of the skills I've acquired over the years. It wouldn't focus so much on pattern making for beginners, but more on aspects of making a good PRODUCTION ready pattern. Knowing about sewing processes, order of operations and how they impact patterns. Many patternmakers can create a pattern for sewing a garment, but in mass production, there are many issues that can be problematic and if you don't understand these things, the factory will lose productivity AND accuracy. I would also give instruction on pattern grading as well since there seems to be alot of interest in that subject. If you would be interested in such a channel, reply below and I'll make sure to let you know once the channel launches.

Holy crap, David, this COULD NOT have come at a better time! I design sewing patterns for home sewists, and I want to transition to production sewing patterns and kickstart a freelance career. I'm on the verge of enrolling in a fashion design certificate program at a local uni to focus on production/pattern making. I am DESPERATE to find resources about order of sewing operations in a manufacturing setting. As a home sewist, I know how much sequence matters, and I try to think about efficiency as I design patterns. Quickly - can you suggest sites/books/etc. on garment manufacturing? TIA for any insight you can share.

Would if you could do a pattern digitizing and grading tutorial! That is the most confusing part, especially for bodices with more style lines than a regular basic bodice block.

Love this video. I was the 25 year old patternmaker. My teachers realized that I took onto the pattern making classes and work very well and challenged me with additional assignments. They also showed me the impact that patternmakers have in the industry and how much they got paid, and that’s how I started my career. It was and still is definitely hard to get your foot in the door as a young black patternmaker, because you defy all of the stereotypes of what a patternmaker looks like, but I made it. Being taught the foundation of pen and paper, then transitioning to the advancements of computer technology.

My opinion could be a generational divide issue, so take it with a grain of salt. I couldn't even get past a couple of minutes watching. Why do you have so much cleavage showing? I get it that's you can do as you please with your body. I also agree that being sexual is fine for a woman too...but...I felt like I was watching you either genuinely flirting or coming on to him. He's grinning like an idiot every time your breasts moved. Or was I watching you trying to manipulate him? This video is helpful to him, so why did he need an added incentive? My reaction was like my reaction to men, in the past wearing Speedo swimming trunks. Google the ones from the 70's if they aren't being made any longer. They would come out of the water, and the overly tight Speedo would be clinging...it was an eeeww! TMI. Generationally, over 50, seeing or being shown a lot of cleavage, the beginning of butt cheeks in shorts, etc feels...intimate. My feeling is ...I don't know you that well...or this isn't a sexual situation...so why am I seeing so much of someone's body. I feel conflicted about this, and it is great that you're comfortable with your body, but you're obviously intelligent and creative....

I don't know if you are still doing this giveaway, but I've been in the fashion industry for a few years now, running by own business online. It's been discouraging using traditional methods and I've literally been searching for a technological experience when it comes to patterns and samples. I'm so happy that I've come across this video and would love to be considered! I have multiple innovative designs I'd love to add to my brand. Either way thanks for posting this! 💗

Very interesting video :) to see in atelier the designer sells and made clothes. I believe being passionate about your work key to success. It's like magic the knitting machine, I liked that you show us how clothes made. Technology becomes substantial in everyday life. Handicraft doesn't die and pass through generations. Especially, that a single piece could be always modified by adding artistic touches to it. Great video :D I enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing 😘.

Very nice interview :) I could see the passion from their talking. That they loved what they are doing. It's such an inspiration that they are a small team but they were able to run a luxury brand. It's nice to see the Morrocan clothes in western culture. Here in Saudi it's a trend lots of ppl wear it in parties. Also, the long velvet she's wearing it's look like ( abaya ) in our culture :) Abaya it's a tradition in Saudi women wear when they go outside to malls, or any place. I loved a lot ur interviews 😘 Thank u Marina 💋🤗
