So you have been using for 12 years and still not much battery degradation? It charges and retains its charge well?
Maybe is a newer version? are you sure was counterfeit?
2 year's for original blade , what is life for chinese blade . I got philips s5884/50 so ,bye or not to bye. Did chinese cut well as genuine. Thanks for answering to me.
I just bought a new Philips shaver and refused to buy it from Scamazon. Too many fakes of all kinds. And I don't think it makes a difference if the seller is Amazon itself, either. I also saw one review that seemed to credibly say that he got fake replacement heads _from Philips themselves._ I believe it, too. Someone is probably returning fake stuff to them and they're just reselling it.
Where are these counterfeits coming from?
can anyone here confirm that you can remove the cap on this and charge it like normal?

I got the same type of situation. I ordered my blades from the Amazon Philips store and got a counterfeit. Besides the extra ring of holes, the internals are different as well. The real Philips blades have V-shaped blades on the outer ring and nine straight blades on the inner ring; the counterfeit has all straight blades with only five blades on the inner ring. The real Philips product also has a fit to the heads with no gap. The plastic housing was so poor on the counterfeit that I swapped the blades between the housings so they would even fit. The problem now is that it is hard to get Philips SH90 heads from a legitimate source.
SH91 heads replace the SH90 and provide a vastly superior shave (in terms of comfort).
I was scammed on Ebay paying full Philips price for cheap copies, hard to tell, but they do not very lost long and squeal more as well
Are there any quality generic??
Thanks for the video, Amazon are as bad as eBay selling Chinese junk. Cheers.
For me it's a toss up between this and the Pano Arc6. Similar price point but different head technologies. I had a Philishave 20 years ago and could never get a close shave on all contours of my face as what I get on my Remington Foil shaver. I tried a Braun series 6 about 4 years back but not happy with that so I moved it on. Thinking of a return to a Philishave particularly since it's been 20 plus years but I am fearing the same 'pinching' sensation which I loathed on my last Philishave. Any thoughts from your more modern Philishave experience? Great unboxing I do really like the idea of a wireless charging pad
Yeah there out there!
You need to look at the blades closely. The genuine one has double blades. I mean the outside ones are doubled.
Yep. Mine are fake. Thanks!
Is this price usd?
Yes, as of the time of the video
This is the old model. It’s also the best. Even today
This is the old version
I have been using the same machine for 1week and it is a great machine. I have been using electric shavers for last 10 years and very happy with this.
If you want counterfeit non functioning product get it on ebay. I ordered a set a few months ago and the packaging was perfect. I installed the head and it doesn't fit right and sounds odd and it shaves like crap. Only under high power magnification you see the differences. With ebay returning a product is difficult and will often cost you to return and the return window is small. So I got screwed again on ebay.
So how does it compare to the old model
literally the only question i want to know the answer to lmao
@mfaccia old model was better in shaving under nose, pentagonal shape of new model is worse also they put worse material quality - plastic over metal. New model only glides a little bit better so overall old model is better.
Yes
My wristband is sandwiched between two metal plates with teeth, inside a plastic lock
L
What was the
does this apply to any blades or just these? i just ordered Philips PT720 heads.
If the quality looks suspect they are likely fakes. Use good judgement and use this video as a tool
I have a pack in my Amazon cart and the seller does say philips not philis. We shall see when they come in. Thanks for the video. EDIT: they came in. They are authentic. No philis labeled anymore. Authentic Philips. Just make sure the seller on Amazon is Philips.
Thanks for the heads up! I was trying to find sh98/80 replacement blades & it’s impossible if you live in Canada, only 1 seller on Amazon nearly doubling the price! Even Philips Canada website doesn’t list it as available for purchase. Frustrating! Cheers.
I knew it! Thank you !
Barcodes are NOT a reliable indicator of anything. Many manufacturers provide different second half barcodes (the first half will be the same as it is a product classification identifier) for different retailers and distributors to identify where they were sold. This offers a way to spot dishonest fakers who buy cheap counterfeits from EBay and Amazon and then try to "return" them to full service retailers, to get a refund or a gift card for more than what they paid.
The Amazon blades are just an older, 2015 model. How can you say they are definitively counterfeit?
SuperPussyFinger nothing on those blades showed that they were authentic. Missing Philips logos and the blades looked nothing like authentic blades. If you just watch the video those clearly aren’t “older” blades. And where is YOUR proof that those are 2015 blades? Philips’ blades for that model have NEVER looked like that. Try again. If you don’t believe those blades are fake feel free to buy those and use them yourself.
They work well.
Got mine from eBay and they were the same as the originals I took off, but in the counterfeit box. Top of the box says www.philips.com/accessories.
Here is a dead give away. I recently ordered these replacement blades from Amazon and installed them. In addition to the observations pointed out in this video, these blades did not fit or operate properly due to a design flaw. I checked further. I studied the packaging and found that the website address printed on the top flap of the box is "www.philis.com/accessories", which, of course doesn't exist. Regarding the design, the authentic SH90 blade has two small notches on opposite sides of the blade carrier, which correspond to two equally sized detent protrusions on opposite sides of the holder. They can forced to seat with the plastic retaining ring, but the shaver makes a terrible noise when pressure is applied to the shaving surface. I have left a comment on the Amazon site and have arranged to return these to Amazon. Get your replacement blades from a reliable source!
I purchased a set at walmart for $50 and it had the same web address on top of the package. I fallowed the web address and it took me to Philips website
On the SH-50 the round holes on the shaving heads should have a vertical pattern of three holes then two holes. On the round holes of counterfeit heads there will only be a vertical pattern of two holes then one hole.
Huh?
I got a replacement set online from what I thought was the Philips store on Amazon and now looking at it they are of course fake. I noticed worse performance right away with them pulling and not getting as close. Just ordered some direct from Philips site so hopefully they are real ones.
Hey Sports Fans ! Here's an even easier way to spot those illegal, contraband, insulting, job-stealing knock-offs. Read the heads. Instead of saying "Multi Precision", mine say "MUTIL Precision" I HAVE A GOOD PICTURE F THESE, BUT DON'T KNOW HOW TO PASTE IT HERE. If you want one email me at frank.lucas1105@gmail.com. My Chinese supplier was trough Amazon. they have known about this, but want to be Politically correct and drop these $5#!!!!,
Amazon sells a lot of fake and amazon doesn’t care
Ok, you bought 2 sets and went through the trouble to let us know what to look for. Not too sure most folks have the time to go through all that. Try contacting Norelco and see if there is any information on the box that determines, without a doubt, if the product is genuine Norelco. But that only helps if you are hands on at a brick and mortar. The information would have to be plainly visible on the box when shopping online.
so can i use these anyways? mine are in a bracket that seem different than the original
I would return them if it were me and but direct from Philips
Very helpful! Thanks for posting this!!
Buying direct from Philips usually works out cheaper than the counterfeit blades.
That doesn't mean that Amazon doesn't sell GENUINE blades.
How do you buy direct from Philips?
damn that sounds awesome! is this the 2.5"?
I believe so. The Borla Catback for the 2016 5.0
I solved chatting with a Philips representative that gave me the correct link for blades sold directly by Philips trough Amazon. Ensure the vendor is Philips. Or ask them the direct link.
Could you share that link with us?
I've bought cheap replacements on Aliexpress. At least they weren't sold under Philips brand. They look exactly the same as those on a video. Their quality is awful. It's hard to get a good shave because they don't adapt to face shape like originals do. They cause more skin irritation and make shaver become more noisy. My own advice: stay away, don't waste your money.
Thanks for posting this. I ordered my replacement blades from Amazon a few days ago. I will refer back to this video again once it arrives.
so now what? can you use these anyway??
@@beastar55 - In my case the blades I obtained from a seller on Amazon were counterfeit and were so bad they were unusable. Didn't cut at all and pinched and pulled my whiskers. Hope this helps.
They're not counterfeit the ones you claim to be genuine are just the updated version of the supposed counterfeit ones, companies do that all the time.
Wrong dude. Even the orange removal tool is a knockoff.
I've done some research on this myself and I believe the video is correct in identifying the counterfeit blades. There is a newer version of blade that came out with the word Pro on it versus non-Pro. At first I thought this was the difference in blades but after i bought genuine Pro and non-Pro versions I saw that they both look the same as the genuine version in the video. would also like to add I too bought a set of replacement blades from Amazon and they were in fact counterfeit just as in this video. I went ahead and opened them and put them in my razor. In my case I bought the entire head. You can tell right away the head and razors are very cheaply made. The head didn't have a good fit on my razor and I had to put considerable pressure on it to mount it on my shaver. When I tried to shave with it was when you could really tell they are counterfeit. The blades were turning but it pulled and pinches my face and hardly cut a single whisker. Just terrible. Again, sacninesixteen is right on with his video in my opinion.
Wrong pal. Norelco never made blades of that comb design used in the counterfeit ones.
barcode number cannot identify it is real or not because Philips can have different kinds of box set for one kind of shaver head in different countries
This review was only to IDENTIFY counterfeit blades without opening the package which is obviously very easy. This review was not intended to compare the quality of real to fake which obviously the fakes aren’t as good. And also, had I opened them, I would have been out $45 on the counterfeits. If you want an open package comparison of the blades, do it yourself. No one else has made a video so at least mine helps. Quit your bitching.
What seller? There are dozens of them attached on one ASIN. I want to buy some for myself from Amazon.
You missed the most important comparison.... the blades. Next time do it completely and actually open the packaging. This is only half useful.
You should open them. It turns out the counterfeit product also have much fewer cutting blades that are just straight (no V-form).
I love the sound of the exhaust for my personal preference. It sounds amazing, however if you're looking for super loud you might want to go with the Atak instead of the S-Type. The S-Type is plenty loud though. The Atak may be too loud and get you pulled over.
Do you live in sac? I purchased this system for my 2017 mustang GT but I would like to listen to it before I get them installed.
In your opinion is the a s type loud enough? Or do you think I should go for the atak of I'm looking for something loud?
