This week I had an inspiring chat with my buddy, Eric Sztanyo, from Cincinnati. Eric’s story is one a lot of young dads can relate to. He started off doing volunteer ministry work, you know, on that live-on-peanuts budget, then shuffled through a few failed careers before stumbling onto real estate. On today’s episode, Eric shares his journey from wanting to just be a great dad to finding his c...

    Curious thoughts on pledge of allegiance to the flag?

    • @abrahamswallet
      @abrahamswallet 7 днів тому

      Thanks Trish (?)... personally I'm ok with it, because it states the nation's place in the hierarchy ("under God"). I'm good with allegiance to a nation (I think that's biblically appropriate) AS A NATION. Not as an identity or something elevated above plain citizenship... but we can have allegiances: - To a family (subservient to our allegiance to God) - To a spouse (subservient to our allegiance to God) - To a business (subservient to our allegiance to God) - To a nation (subservient to our allegiance to God) - To a brand of t-shirts (subservient to our allegiance to God) - To a sports team (subservient to our allegiance to God) I hope you get my drift. The point isn't that we should have NO other allegiances... it's that our allegiances cannot move outside of their designated sphere. makes sense? You have any thoughts?

    Might I add something about prophecy with Kim for you to gleam. Much like prophets from the Bible, the things they saw they spoke of as if they were about to happen. Some didn’t happen for hundreds pf years, some haven’t happened yet. Kim, if you study him, is generally taken to that moment and speaks from it. His daughter, Donne, found a pattern of 10 years that his prophecies come to pass. Not always, but a very apparent pattern. Kim spoke a lot about what was happening “in this year” but doesn’t happen or hasn’t happened, and won’t happen until whenever ‘this’ year comes.

    The Catholic never say he was born on that day or time but rather choice that time. However the did associate a lot of unrelated stuff that has nothing to do with Christ but leans more to pagan traditions. Contradiction the very reason they said Christmas is for.

    Really disappointed guys. You always have incredible content but your speech is so compromised. Can't get two minutes in before you are saying Mother-- about the brining turkey. I wish you kept it clean because then I would keep listening and I think I could even talk my wife into listening if it were a clean channel. Anyway, Merry Christmas. Don't mind me. Just frustrated. God bless you guys. Love soooo much of what you talk about and I've enjoyed hearing your opinions. Reach out if this channel changes and becomes family friendly. Cheers

    • @abrahamswallet
      @abrahamswallet 25 днів тому

      Hiya Kai... wait, using the word "mother" is now a swear word? As in, not family-friendly content?? Not "keeping it clean"? Color us confused. You've never heard swearing on this channel, and you never will. If you think "mother" is a stand-in for a much longer, uglier set of words... 1. I don't know why you think that, and 2. I can assure you it's not. In this case, "mother" would be a synonym for "that bad boy" or "that thang!" or "that cowboy!"... or any other number of fun direct object placeholders. For what it's worth, if you're now expanding the boundaries of what can be considered a swear word to include everything that COULD BE REPLACED with a swear word, so that "horsefeathers", "goll blame it", "dagnabbit" and "jumpin Jehosephat" are now considered swear words... methinks you teeter awfully close to the tendency of drawing ever expanding lines around sin and calling those new boundaries sin as well. For the sake of the gospel, we don't recommend this practice. Have we misread your words, Kai? Please correct any wrong assumptions; we'd hate to lose anybody over a misunderstanding. However! We here at AW maintain that we are the familyest friendliest content out there, bar none! Here we stand! :)

    There isn't anything in this life that will even come close to how awesome it will be to be with God all the time. I had an experience a couple years ago. It just lasted a few seconds.. but it was so extreme.. the intense joy that I felt was truly unearthly and extremely satisfying. And I imagine that if I could feel like that all the time, that would be heaven, I wouldn't even think to desire anything else.

    Each to their own I find it hard to believe that still people believe in this mythical entity in whatever form and whatever religion, absolute tosh... Are you to weak and need leading by a church and a pope that not only doesnt punish the priests and vicars that have abused children in their care in their churches. The pope personally signs a piece of paper when another so called man of god molests another child,that makes sure he leaves and then puts them in another so called parish, leaving him plenty of opportunity to prey on more innocent children... The pope number two in line for catholics behind the made up fella,doesnt scold or punish ,no he sends them elsewhere.. Nevermind rules for the gullible flock What about rules for the church Though shall not fornicate with children... Weak minded fools are easily led... Nothing personal lad

    As an Israeli and fellow believer in Christ, I can say that the spiritual "chain of events" didn't start on October 7th. Also when you see things from the inside it is harder to express them because it's people that you know. And the result of October 7th attack was that every Israeli knows someone who was killed in battle or murdered or kidnapped. And I believe it had a major spiritual impact that didn't rise to the surface yet. Just think of Jeremiah, not as a reader, but as a prophet of his time. It was hard for him to speak judgment on the people, he didn't want his nation to suffer, but he lived through it, and about 50 years after he died God started working in the hearts of those who repented and brought them back to the land. It's easier to look at it when you know the full story. It's harder when you live it.

      Thank you VERY MUCH for taking the time to offer this perspective, @doronmjtourguide. Please forgive us if we sound ignorant and arrogant in how we're talking about these things... we love Israel but know that our perspective is limited. It's true; I do not know ONE Israeli who isn't personally damaged by what's happened. We have friends who're called up into service as well because of the terror campaign-- people with families who're putting themselves back into harm's way because of this evil. Father, bless Israel today!

    Great episode. Paraphrasing what Jeremy said, but I loved this quote towards the end. "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. I am bombarded by 100+ temptations a day. I first obey because I love the Lord. If I don't feel that, I obey because I trust the Lord. If I don't feel that, I keep fear in the basement of my faith. I obey because I fear the Lord. "
