Whatever is ordained for us - we will only get that no matter our efforts. Likewise, if ordained we may get more than what we aspire for. We should accept this also - anubhavikkanam, as bhagavath kainkaryam.
paraasarar upadesam to Janakar: apprayatna aagathaassevyaa: gruhasthai: vishayaassadhaa (a grihastha who gets anything without prayatnam (as part of gruhasthaashramam) - all of which is appropriate to accept) prayatnenaapi karthavya: svadharma iti me mathi: (we should do prayatnam to uphold our dharma - ie not do big prayatnam for other things).
naahaaram chinthayethpraagnyo (a praagnya will not worry about aahaaram - anything needed for this sareeram etc) dharmamevaanuchinthayeth (instead he will only worry about dharmaanushtaanam - other things will happen as ordained)
aahaaro hi manushyaanaam janmanaa saha jaayate (aahaaram of person has already been determined at birth itself)
na san nipathitham dharmyam upabhogam yadrucchayaa (will not forgo dharmatthukku yetradhaa vara koodiya upabhogam (that which can be enjoyed) that comes without muyarchi), prathyaachakshe na chaapyenam anurundhe sudurlabham (I will also not go looking for hard to get bhogam)
When we get sukham we should feel that poorva punya (which is also virodhi for moksham) karma kazhindhadhu (much like how we think paapam kazhindhadhu when we get dukkham). We should go in dharma maargam and accept up or down results with equanimity.
