I have just started playing a 12 hole ocarina. Any tips?
Hello. Since you already have experience playing a wind instrument, there are a few tips to keep in mind: first, make sure you get an ocarina from a reputable maker. In the United States, Songbird sells ocarinas made by Taiwanese company Stein/Focalink which is good quality. Second, play with a tuner. How hard you blow affects the pitch of an ocarina. Playing against a tuner to make sure you understand how strong you need to blow for each note is important. Most ocarinas have a breath curve - the higher the note, the stronger you will likely need to blow. After you get the basics, you can find many tutorials on UA-cam.
