ROADACTIVE SUSPENSION INSTALL & REVIEW | 2000 RCSB CHEVY SILVERADO
Here's a tip for STICKER HATERS! I am one, so I found a solution years ago and I'm never without it. Pure Citrus air freshener. Walmart carries it online for $5. They use this stuff in department stores to get labels off of shelves and it just smells like it's main ingredient - oranges. Simply sand the sticker and then spray Pure Citrus on it. That large, heavy duty sticker is likely to take several passes, but it will remove every trace of that sticker! Note for future use: it will degrade plastic, so if you use it to remove a label on plastic you need to rinse it off immediately. Bonus: Cats hate it, so if you're training your cat to stay off the counters, etc, just spray this on the edge of the counter and the kitty will bolt. You're welcome ;-)
Thanks!
No, thank you!
YIKES!😵😵💫....just cleared my cart from buying this "kit"....my 2024 M3 Performance is already pretty quiet.....thanks for taking one for the team and making my decision EASY😋😁
Glad we can help! It's one of the things we love about this community... being able to share honest feedback and real world results. We are currently working on a video review of a product called ResoNix which cost us over $5k so stay tuned if you want to check that out!
Nice try!
LOL Right?!
In Texas these are being sold with whipple only for $39k-$41k
The math doesn't make sense but that's an awesome deal! If Texas wasn't so humid, we'd be living there for sure. Great state.
So where were you scammed. Remember in your calculation hotels have gone up 34% over the last 4 years and 7 percent on average per year. The price per point is lower on more points because it's a wholesale approach and makes it easier to upgrade. And since you can't verify you make a lot of assumptions
We weren't scammed! We said NO! We just made this video to share our experience and warn others if they choose.
Great job man! Now it's time for some performance upgrades!
Thanks! I agree, it's always time for more power.
its a state park, your card is for federal parks.
You are correct. Did not realize that at the time.
Very nice truck! Here are my thoughts: of the items you mentioned, the headers and exhaust are the only things that REALLY helped the performance. HOWEVER, in reality they are only exhausting a stock engine. The LS is a very good platform though and I really think you could do better with the following INSTEAD of an expensive supercharger. 1. Get yourself a set of 706 heads from the junk yard/facebook marketplace (I got a set last week for $100). Take them to a machine shop, have them install new 2" valves for the intake plus do some basic port and polish work (I had all of that done for $375 plus the $100 I paid for the heads. 2. Look at the "Truck Norris" cams from BTR. They are designed specifically for the lower end performance you are lookig for. Last I remember from last year, the cam was about $325. ALWAYS use new rockers, lifters, springs, pushrods when you upgrade. The valvetrain upgrade should be in the area of $650. 3. Stay with the stock intake, it is one of the best options for a stock truck unless you upgrade to a whole new system, and you really just don't need to for your goals. 4. Keep your upgraded throttle body. You could upgrade to a larger 120mm if you wanted, but I don't think it will improve much over your already ported one. All of this combined with your cleaned injectors and long tube headers will put you back in your seat when you step on it, I promise you. Total cost (out here in Maine anyway, Vegas could be higher) is about $1300 - $1500. The issue with a supercharger is that for the money, you really can't get the full potantial out of it with your stock bottom end. You really would want to consider changing the pistons, and you would probably be looking at constant code-throwing as well. The stuff I mentioned above wouldn't throw any codes. Remember: to achieve real improvements in power and torque, you need to have real improvement to the air induction. The 862 heads and the 706 heads are identical by the specs, HOWEVER, the 706 heads were made from a far superior process and have far less issues with expansion/contraction as well as warping. They are just plain old better, period, LOL. These are just my thoughts after years of experience with this stuff. But if you really want to look into it, check out Richard Holdner on UA-cam, you will find everything you are looking for about the LS on his channel. GOOD LUCK!!
This is great! I really like the sound of this approach and the fact that you broke it down so well and used proper grammar and punctuation gives me confidence that you're no dummy! Ok, so... 706 heads sounds easy but finding a good machine shop in Las Vegas will probably be an issue. For some reason, this place is seriously lacking in quality automotive type shops and I've been burned a number of times. Is it possible to find a set that can be shipped to me with the valve and porting already complete? I've had my eye on the Truck Norris for many months and am convinced it's the one to go with. What brand do you recommend for the rockers, lifters, springs, and pushrods? Is there a kit that would work well?
@willzbillzfam yep to all questions, lol. Thanks for the compliments, I do get fussy about grammar usually. When I get home later this evening I will pull up some links I have saved.
@@willzbillzfam email sent to your contact info from UA-cam. Any questions, hit me up, I'll offer what I can. I'm really curious to see where this goes now, LOL.
abandon the susp.....you are clearly wealthy. Looks like a hot climate. You should have gotten the 4wd and just done a basic leveling kit. I have been considering one of these trucks in 4wd but they have a 103mph limiter on them on stage 1. Power falls off on its face. Stage 2 voids the ford warranty. I haven't been able to find a clear answer on what whipples warranty is on stage 2 and if it costs more money being 3rd party. For me the truck needs to go 10s If I am driving around fucking poverty spec XL Reg Cab.
Could be close to 10s if they got rid of the limiter. No way to know I guess. You make good points though.
no real mods. these motors love performance cams
Probably going to pull the trigger on the Truck Norris.
Coilovers, tires and a few other suspension dodads will make a significant difference.
Hoping to do the tires and doors next!
Next time try some new tires like the hancook ion evo a/s. That's my plan. also replacing the suspension. Most of the noise is road noise (followed by wind). I'm surprised the seal didn't work
Thanks for the tip, we'll look into those tires!
Replacing my model 3 suspension with highland as well. Give the highland a test drive; incredibly improved. Motortrend article covers all the changes very well. Starting with struts but might do knuckles as well
@@willzbillzfam highland suspension swap had a huge effect. Got it done this weekend. have data to prove it
72k!! That thing is worth 30k new.
😂
love that you buy a car that promotes it as THE ev.. and then you need to make it premium
Agree!
I did sound deadening on fender wheel well + A, B, C pillar + kick pad trim. I can feel the difference how quiet it's in highway speed. 1. Fender Wheel well: I used anti vibration pad + thinsulate on fender metal + wheel well cover. But, it didn't bring much difference. 2. I worked on A B C pillar + kick pad trim filling with thinsulate. This made a huge difference and I can notice the difference right away without the decibel testing. It seems like you haven't done interior trim sound deadning job and you will see the difference.
Good info! We'll look into this, thanks.
Thanks!
Our pleasure!
Great set up. I wish we could get this system in UK London, the great thing about this system is hassle free and easy access for quick work out. Other setups have to many bolts and bits taking off and put on!.
Agree, this setup has been amazing! I know that Rogue puts one out that's similar but we've had zero complaints with this PRX system 👏🏼

11,000 for “labor” is a rip off 😂. I drive the same truck with a different set of wheels and bed cover. The supercharger was the longest install out of all the parts (13 hours) and it costed $1,300 to install. If you are in these comments NEVER buy a vehicle like this assembled by a dealer. That’s a dumb move. I also got my truck in 4X4 for about 37k with incentives.
Dang, sounds like you got a smoking deal at $100/hr for labor! Where'd you get it done or did you do it yourself. Wish we had a cheap place like that in Vegas. Either way, super happy with our truck, most fun vehicle we've owned yet!
Those are going for 50,000 55,000 the most supercharged lol just gotta be patient for them to be available instead of getting ripped off by that ford dealer lmao what a sucker
We were gonna have to fly or drive to find this rig so we were pumped (and willing) to pay the premium to get it 10 mins from our house. Yah it's a steep markup but we had the means and are enjoying the truck more than we could have imagined!
Definitely got robbed lmao
I'm gonna call the police!

@@IkeloveDeepupinya Now you're talking!

Great video. I’m contemplating a 2WD Saleen vs a 4x4 Lightning Bolt. Don’t have plans of taking it to a drag strip but worry about the back end getting squirrelly when accelerating. Sweet truck!
Thank you! It definitely gets squirrelly on the back end if you punch it. 4x4 would help for sure but it's a little more expensive.
I LIKE THIS ALOT!!! IF I WAS IN THE MARKET A OBS I WOULD BUY ONE LIKE YOURS!!!. I WOULD NOT HAVE ANY STOCK SIDE TRIM AT ALL!!!. THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH WHIT IS HAS THAT "FLEET" LOOK TO THAT COLOR. WHEELS YOU PUT ON IT ARE OK AND RESONABLE. I 'D PUT ON A WHITE FIBERGLASS TONEAU COVER. "VERY COOL"!!! PICKUP!!!. YOU WERE LUCKY TO FIND THIS GEM!!!.
Thanks man. Agree, white is probably the worst color for this truck. Hoping to paint or wrap it at some point.
Who the hell is going to do all of that? Crazy.
Haha, us!! Results weren't as hoped for but was a fun experiment.
Ive got a 21-23 stg 2 kit on the shelf. Please dont pay an 11k premium for a dealer install on these parts. The warranty is limited, and there is nothing on the truck that you can destroy that cost 11k to fix.
It was mostly about saving my time over who knows how many weekends to get it all installed. I'm not that experienced so it would be a lot of research and extra time to avoid mistakes. Plenty of guys can save the 11k though by doing it themselves.
You were robbed
I'll call the police.
@ you should 🤣
I had a Corvette that had a weird vibration they couldn't figure out. It is maddening. Your truck is a 10/10 though. I have a Shelby Super Snake 4X4 but I love the single cab look.
Super maddening. We must be a rare breed. Most guys don't seem to care.
I paid $55,300 for my 24 rcsb 4x4, whipple stage2 in blue, ridetech 3/5, 22’ forgestars and tires and did all the work myself. Your vibration issues are either installer error or tires.
What did you pay for the truck? How did you get such a good deal on everything? Was it used?
@@willzbillzfamHe said he did the work himself. You guys are always paying labor, which is crazy expensive for easy stuff. $55k is likely all in. I recently priced a ‘24 4x4 rcsb for $38k. Whipple is ~$10k. Wheels and other stuff could be had for $7k easily.
@@willzbillzfam I’m 54k into my 24 4x4 with whipple, painted oem bed cover, front end ppf, full ceramic coating, ridetech suspension. Y pipe and exhaust
@@willzbillzfamalso fyi the exhaust they installed voids your warranty. Mentions it right in the supercharger paperwork.
@@petergalvez6431 I'll have to look into this, news to me.
Nitto v420 are great tires! Not sure what issues you had with them.
It was mainly the road noise for me.

Seems like deals are out there if you look hard enough.
U could of bullt it for cheaper even having someone installing all that. Maybe $2-2500 labor. I'm a mechanic so I'd know. And u should of gotten a 4x4. What a rip off...
What do you think would be a fair price to pay to make it a good deal?
Mad respect to you Willz!!! I always try and keep my content realistic. I hate people that just say "Wow its amazing" when in reality there's no change. Sucks that you wasted the money but uploading this just saved me and MANY others the hassle of wasting time and money on this.
Glad we could help! It was a fun video to make so not a total loss lol.
Thanks for your honesty. Been trying to purchase one of these trucks for the last year
Happy to help, brother. What challenges have you run into with purchasing one?
Honestly not a terrible deal if it’s a 4x4 already. Gotta think about the time someone spent to put all that on. Seems loaded with everything.
Agreed. Doesn't feel like we got robbed by any stretch. Totally love the truck and feel fine about the price.
Good video.. As these things are becoming very popular, they are also blowing up . Yes, everything blows up if you beat on it enough. But these f150's with the whipple.or twin turbos are not lasting in the long run. I bought my 23 f150 2wd xl brand new, it only has 8k miles on it right now to put a whipple on. Im really second guessing that now.
I wonder how hard you have to beat on it to get it to blow up. I do an occasional pull around 3/4 throttle but am mostly keeping it chill. Time will tell I guess.
@willzbillzfam Seen some go at 10k miles.. most between 30-40k miles. Not a good thing

How do the Michelin tires hook up vs the Nitto?
Way better. It hooks up really well actually. I may not have made that very clear in the video. I can smoke the tires all day if I floor it but if you ease in, it'll get going super fast.
@willzbillzfam I have a 2024 4x2. Whipple is on my list of future mods. Just wonder how bad traction will be with it just being 4x2. Couldn't find a 4x4 when I bought mine.
It's manageable. It will depend a lot on your experience and driving style. I put mine in Sport mode, locked the rear diff, took traction control off, sent it, and scared the living shit out of myself. But it helped me to learn the truck to where I can push it to a comfortable limit and still have a lot of fun. The thing about a 4x4 is that you'll only use it for launches. You can't drive around in 4x4 unless there's snow on the ground so most of the time you're only working with 4x2 anyway.
Flat out robbed. Never pay over msrp.
What would you say is a fair price for this particular truck?
Msrp plus the 20k for the add ons there’s no need to pay more for installing it’s already figured in the price of add ons. They’re giving the 36k mile warranty anyways.
Part of it was that I showed up at the dealer the day after they posted it and 3 other buyers showed up while I was test driving it. With that kind of demand, it makes sense for them to make a little more money on it.
@@willzbillzfam if it’s worth it to you that’s all that matters. I just don’t like when corporations take advantage of people.
@@jonasmohnk2651 Agree 💯%
Your breakdown, cost & analysis was spot on for the parts as I'm building almost the exact same truck...but saving the build/procurement/install cost and doing it myself. All done except still waiting on delivery of my gen6 Whipple kit...which will likely void my warranty immediately as it's stage 2. Nevertheless, I just had to say it's a shame about the vibration. I installed my Ridetech 3/5 w/traction bars & sway bar and fortunately mine came out perfectly at the 1 degree pinion angle recommended on the composite spring trucks w/the standard setup and I have no vibration at all. If they've had more than one shot at getting the angle correct I would suggest a different shop, I know the directions are somewhat confusing but most good shop mechanics can decipher them. There's 4-5 degree of adjustment depending on which of the 2 perch positions and wedge shim positions used. But Most importantly it needs to be measured correctly while the truck is on the ground, hard to do on a lowered truck. You won't regret the few $ you pay for someone to get it right so you can enjoy it. On 20" Weld Laguna's w/Toyo 305-50's mine rides/drives almost as good as my c7.
Honestly, I'm very close to taking it somewhere else. They admitted at one point that they tightened the traction bars while it was in the air so they gave themselves away there. But it's free for me to have them work on it so I'm trying to give them a chance. Times almost up though... I really want this thing to ride smooth. Enjoy your build. I'd love to subscribe if you put out any videos about it.
@@willzbillzfam Forgot to mention mine is 4x4...I did kept things simple and believe the rear flip kit should be installed first getting the pinion angle correct before adding the traction bars or sway bar. Install everything with all the bolts snug, only the Ridetech front bracket should be fully torqued from the get go, otherwise tighten/torque all the others after it's on the tires sitting on it's weight. Not easy and maybe not totally necessary, but as I said to begin, mine came out as advertised. My son also has a 24 rcsb 4x4 we installed this kit on and we did have to flip his wedge shims to get it right. How & where the angle is measured makes all the difference. Must be on a level surface and positioning the u-joint on these f150's is paramount to getting the correct angle reading...the flange is not easy to get, in my case, a klein digital gauge on. Keep making the effort and the reward will be a truck you'll love driving.
Great info! I'm going to share this with the shop. Can't wait to get it worked out and have the perfect ride.
Great video!
Much appreciated!

I would put that stuff on for $10k all week every week! It would take me by myself 3days tops to install all of it.
I'm sure the dealer took a good chunk of the mark up but I bet a guy could make a pretty good living putting these trucks together.
If it's not a real shop than no warranty ..so having dealer or shop do it is huge.
The warranty was a big selling point for me so I'm stuck using their guy.
A 100% stock 7 year old mustang gt for 22k will destroy this and still leaves you 51k.
Mustangs look dumb though. I'll never be a car guy. I tried a car once and sold it a month later. I have to be in a truck. And I don't mind spending money on stuff that makes me as happy as this truck does.
Uhhhh negative. Dumb comment.
Trust me. When I see a Mustang my brain says, "That thing looks dumb."
@@willzbillzfam my comment was meant for the other guy. I couldn't tag him.
Ah, gotcha
SHOULD HAVE KEPT THAT CHEV OBS!!!. THAT LOOKED ALOT BETTER THAN THAT OVERPRICED FORD!!!. THE WHEELS ON THE FORD I WOULD SCRAP THOSE RIGHT AWAY!!!. FLOWMASTERS ARE ALOT BETTER ANYWAY!! COLOR OK!!. I THINK YOU LOST ON THIS DEAL!!. WHO CAN HEAR TIRE NOISE WHEN YOUR LISTENNING TO VAN HALEN!!! .WHO ORIGINALLY PUT THIS TRUCK TOGETHER!!??. GOODLUCK WITH YOUR STREET TRUCK!!!.
I still have the Chef NBS and plan to do more to it once my kids get older and can help me. What wheels would you go with instead for the Ford? I tried Flowmaster a couple times in my life and just can't handle the sound. Magnaflow all the way for me. You're right about Van Halen! But a lot of times and drive in silence with just my thoughts and the sound of those Nittos was so distracting! Team Ford in Las Vegas had a shop in town called Branco Barn put it together. Thanks for the comment, brother.
WHAT FORD IS OFFERING WITH THIS NEW STREET PERFORMANCE TRUCK WHICH I'VE BEEN SEEING, COMING FROM FORD SHOULD BE TOTALLY FIXED AND MADE RIGHT FOR YOU AND ALL ITS NEW BUYERS OF THIS PERFORMANCE TRUCK!!! I GUESS ITS ALL PART OFFERING A NEW TRUCK MODEL!!?. I DO LIKE THE IDEA OF THE BIG 3 OFFERING THESE KINDS OF RIDES!!! I DO LIKE YOUR NEW FORD TRUCK!!!, WISH YOU LUCK!! THIS IS ALL ONFORD NOW!!.
I've been a Chevy guy my whole life. If they had something like this, I would've been the first in line to get it. Seems like they have different priorities.
you got ripped off
What price would you say is a good deal on this truck?
No he didn't you are cheap and he has a 700 hp warranty and new truck.
@@willzbillzfamyou did fine. Warranty,700hp, great lookin..your good.. do not listen to these Homer's.
