Easy Fume Extractor - How To -Turnah81

It just uses a computer fan, cardboard box and tape. Use it for soldering, plastic welding, foam cutting - I guess working with acrylic nails and stuff too? Anything that produces fumes like acetone or model painting. The fume extractor arm does the job in the workshop or in the home. I had to share my thoughts on this one! Here are my 9 Reasons why the video GoPro: Man Fights Off Great White Shark In Sydney Harbour is FAKE! Yeah great video but totally fake. There is an accessory for all of these type of clamps that is almost a must-have for household use... It plugs into a standard three prong outlet, and has two openings, one with attenuation in the other without, for you to clamp the meter on and it separates the wires for you so that you do not have to cut into a cable. They only cost from 10 to $20 US price, and also usually have contact points for using multimeter probes on the wires without exposing them also. The attenuator allows you to measure 10 times the normal current without damaging your meter.
Makes sense if they were mostly joining copper wire in holes in the ground or a crawl space - any mildly corroded wire could be filed clean in good light and then joined, however they did that back then. Anyone know?
Discount code: VEV5OFF 5% discount code for all Vevor products. More info in the description :)
Yes of course you can lol
These cheap clamp meters barely measure the presence of current. If you want any kind of accuracy, especially on smaller currents, you have to cough up.
Yeah. This only does over 1amp. But that is what I mainly need it for. Ie. Dodgy starter motor diagnosis and stuff. Wish it had a Max hold or something though.
Oh it’s instantly an ad. I’m out, I liked the title tho
Nar review with product provided without charge. Cretiques at the end of vid. My other critiques beyond that they addressed by email. Turned out to be user error 🤦♂️😅
Actually amazed that it can do DC at that price. Wanted one a while back for a battery project, but all the US brands are hundreds of dollars to get DC measurement on the clamp.
Yeah same I originally wanted one to try and diagnose a car starter motor issues. Try and work out if the starter was on the way out or battery but they were too pricy.
Whoda thought some middle aged bloke in Nebraska USA would be so happy when you make videos? Well I am both.
Haha cheers man. 👊
That feeling when someone says something is a reasonable price, and you know it probably is given what it is, but you still can't afford it 🥲
Hell yeah, it was helpful.... now I want a clamp meter.
I am using it more than I thought. I didn't realise it replace my mustimeter, but I should have got auto ranging one a long time ago.
Shop around at vevor some more, they have al kinds of exciting stuff to try out. Most of it decently copied from brands twice the price 👍🏻
Hey! Now you're playing in my playground with this! I've got meters you could only dream of. Or I guess purchase for many times the cost of the vevor. But I have some vevor things, they make a lot of stuff. For the most accurate measurements for amperage, try to keep the wire centered in the clamp. You'll probably notice some dashes or something on the clamp, just try to keep the wire centered. It won't make you or break you on the reading, but it'll be most accurate. If you have any questions about any of the features on it let me know.
How was the user manual? Good for a DIY with not a lot of knowledge on the subject or more "professional"?
Yeah good it actually noted a couple things I did wrong. Ie I tried to measure an AC current and thought the AC aspect didn't work, has to be over an amp apparently.
But will it keep cats from wizing on your stuff?
The devices I build with it will
Holy volt-drop Batman, you need some better cables for your solar panel!
Exactly. I was running cables about double the thickness . The core was about the thickness of the shield on his. I had about 400 watts of panels @ 24 volts (peak about 32 before the regulator) which means about 13 Amps . If pushing that for 12 hours a day, you want good wires .
Yeah this was just a camping fridge extension I already had. I need to make some up.
Oh so serious!🤡 Still watched it and liked it anyway.
😆 just me Shed nerding out on random tech. Saves my wife from having to hear my excitement over a clamp meter.
@TurnahsShed Love your stuff and the interesting way you present it regardless. P.S. How's the cat problem going?
Yeah baby... If you clamp it to your skroat, and put a car fob to your head and press the button, it will unlock anything that is coal powered. No BS. Try it out. Fact, too.
Good review mate 👍
Thanks mate. Cheers
Oh, so that's what the drill symbol is for. I guess that means my vacuum has a power socket? Guess I should have read the manual.
Partner it with the Makita stick vac and you can suck until you can't suck no more
2:58 "Nice shaap edjis" oh suuuure suuure, just what everyone needs LUL
I guess the backwash thing is blowing the dust out but when you release the button it goes back to suction and then the dust goes back in the filter…
Yeah I don't completely get it myself. I will have to investigate sometime.
Supposed to use the bag when vacuuming solid stuff, if vacuuming liquid then you remove the bag
But then I have to buys bags 😭
Possible future projects from 100 years back, a gasifier to tun a gasoline engine for a generator etc., and powerless ram pump. Old ideas revisited. Be well and stay safe. Cheers!
But what dit telephone man use to repel cats?
A standard Throwing File i guess.
Very nice 👍
Cheers mate.
Even worse than todays "life hacks"
Y'all too young to remember the telephone man? ua-cam.com/video/MahswYBewb0/v-deo.html
Wtf 😂😂😂
Or you could melt the bottom of the candle directly into the file grooves. Hack the hack.
honestly great to see you posting videos again, genuinely loved your old vids. would love to see a cool series on old lifehacks
HaHa that was brilliant 👍🏻
the telephone man on his telephone post can ram the hilt of the file in the wooden post and has his hands free to work with.
thank you for that.
FYI: Mr. Telephone Man is who you call when you dial your baby's number and you get a click every time. ua-cam.com/video/YTdxdr9pNnw/v-deo.html
I assume the point is to be able to hammer the handle point of the file into a timber something on a wall so its mounted
Exactly! He missed the whole point of it (No pun intended)
A nail-file to hold a birthday candle.
😅 Maybe I completely scaled the project wrong
IIRC in 1910, every telephone set would have had its own battery as early telephone systems did not supply any power to the subscriber as they later did. The “telephone man” would have swapped out your battery on a regular basis.
Funny, I was just sitting here a moment ago, wondering how I could use a file to hold a candle.
The algorithm is reading our thoughts.
Woohoo!! Keep them coming mate. For your bent file to poke into the candle.... heat the end up with a blow-torch!! Can't believe I have to suggest to YOU on the benefits of using fire!
I feel so enlightened by this video!😏
I'm going to file this under, if it gets this bad, why bother?
That is my entire apocalypse perparation.
IME if you're using files/rasps a lot then you actually accumulate worn down ones pretty quickly. So this is less weird than it looks. Modern day equivalent is probably some craft using those plastic things that keep your pizza from being crushed. If you had to go purchase one of the things on purpose then it would be bonkers but if you're already up to your eyeballs in them then using them for random little tasks is just sensible.
🙂👍
thirst
Ha!! Now have some goon!
Sees turnah upload --day made
I may be wrong but almost all of the shop vac's you have to use a different filter when you suck up wet things. May want to check that. I know mine has a different part number for a wet air filter and shouldn't be used for wet things with the standard one.
Just make sure to wash it properly after sucking pool water .. mine ended up with few holes .. i think because of the chlorine. Made it rust theough .lol And we were doing pool epoxy so used it to suck the last bit of water that the submersible couldn't get to
My man. Remove the filter before using as wetvac.
I got a cheapo one from Mitre 10. Very pleased. I got a frightening amount dirt out of my rug with the wet and it's nice to have a big vac for sawdust.
prob needs a bag
