I've been waiting for a video like this to come out for a long time, heck, I was considering making one myself, but you've described everything perfectly. Animal Jam is a lost art, either everyone's moved on to AJPW (I refuse to acknowledge it as the real "Animal Jam"), or it's just full of traders on a broken value system where no one can get anything unless you already have something. It's truely depressing to know that Animal Jam has solely become Capitalism Junior™, rather than people enjoying what there is to enjoy, whether that be the fun games (pill bugs is a hood classic), the adventures, or just decorating. I mean, I understand honestly, because of the fact that EVERYTHING is locked behind a membership, and there's quite literally never any new updates that isn't just re-releasing old content they continue to lock and unlock. Animal Jam will forever share very special and nostalgic memories with me, it was one of the first games that really sucked me in, and I remember playing it with my sister for hours on end. Getting my first membership and going absolutely bonkers will forever be a core memory for me. I'm really glad so many people feel the same way about seeing Animal Jam regress into this toxic broken-market cesspool. I feel as if maybe, we as a community, could pull together and create a group of people dedicated to enjoying Animal Jam for what it is, and not feeing so locked to the social constructs that the current Animal Jam members are forcing (Trading is the only thing you can do), and possibly influence others to do the same, and have some sort of renaissance within the community. You've really taken the words out of my mouth with this one, and I'd love to see more Animal Jam content from you, you've earned a new subscriber.

yeah kinda felt really sad when i came back to AJ classic like a week ago and it was only traders, nobody roleplaying or in any neat spots, just everybody packed together in the canyons, jamaa town, or the canyons nice video, was well done update this comment aged horribly as soon as i entered mount shiveer there were people hopping trying to destroy the ice

To look on the bright side a bit, in its own way it is kind of fun to watch the game crumble apart. Aj classic is basically the Wild West now and I would be lying if I said I didn’t find a little bit of enjoyment in the chaos of it… I’ve seriously talked to like 8 people on this game that say they want to start and aj Revolution and overthrow the Brady’s lab elites.

I’ve always been an iPad kid but I still have ajc memories?? I haven’t got a clue where they came from but my older sister said we used to play classic tg even tho I barely remember, I’m glad I have some of those memories too

aj was my favorite game and I still play play wild sometimes i used to play in the brazilian server as a kid and nowdays is so straight up dead, theres no aj tuber anymore, no more people playing in there, just one or another but most of them just left the game or play in the english server gosh I miss the old days 😭

I totally agree with this. I recently came back to AJ after a few months of not playing...I'm sad there is really no more community. All of my buddies are never online anymore either. It's just all "trade me spikes" and stuff. All about getting rare. I think especially since the removal of black longs from TFD it has kicked the AJ economy to the curb even more because now the demand for black longs has...well, "spiked." It's basically only that and nothing else. I miss seeing people actually have fun on AJ, like playing games and stuff. Hardly anybody does that anymore. Also if you don't have spikes you're not cool and you can't afford anything you want.

I did get way to carried away with the first tip. I did start my collection of feathered masks before i saw this video, and i was *determined* ! I traded everything just to get my collection perfect. I also collect the different variants of socks

As someone who started with play wild, I've never played classic, but it looks amazing. However, I don't think I'd play it due to the differences and it not having as many features. To me I'd say the main reasons it's a lot less popular are due to it having 2D graphics compared to 3D which I personally view as inferior. The fact that kids have gone from computers to mobile devices is also a major reason too. I guarantee if they made a mobile release of classic it'd be a lot more popular. Some of these points also apply to play wild, mainly the ones about lack of RPs. It's all very currency based now and so it's harder for new players to get it into.

I played AJ Classic for 7 years, in 2022 i officially got bored of it and decided to trade all my rares (spikes, headresses, den betas) for rares on AJPW and immigrate to there. But just after a month of gameplay i logged into my account and everything was gone, all my 7 years of work, and AJHQ as always, couldn't help. If i was still a child i would definitely have cried 🤠 this was the last straw to make me quit Animal Jam for once. Maybe it was just me, but i felt so lonely, in both games. In 2015 everything was so different, people didn't care about items that much, i made friendships with almost every player i crossed by, people made roleplays, parties, played minigames together... but in 2020 and beyond people only ever talked with me for trades, everyone was in the game 24/7 just to get rares, everyone looked like NPC's. Animal Jam was a very big part of my childhood too, and it made me sad i had to say goodbye to it in such a bitter tone.

I miss the old days (i had older accounts back when i was in middle school, but im talking about my 2019 one) I miss just chilling in my den with my friends talking about random things, like starting highschool lmao doing silly roleplays, like the sled dog one me and silver went to 😭 chasing eachother around the map, or roleplaying in baloosh (i think thats how uou spell it right? I haven't been on in a few days 😅) Or even doing adventures to get gems with them. I dunno if I'll ever get to chat with SilverCyclone , Luke, Ari, Sunny, awesomeajam36, Cynder, Jason, and Sophie again (and im not even sure if they still think of me) but i definitely think of them anytime i hop on to play, i just really hope they're doing well in life<3

If they focised a little bit more on classic maybe it would've been better... And as a play wild player, i can say, PW is much more fun! It's easy to grind for sapphires, shops are for everyone, there are pack runs, people don't turn it into a marketplace or trading center, on the contrary, i see a lot of people grouping up to have fun and defeat summoned phantoms or just being generous and dropping a sapphire potion.

An only things that distract me feom aj, is walking around, decorating ma den (include doing adventures to decorate) and making masterpieces

I MISS THE AJ TOYS SO MUCH! It was so much fun during those times when that was a big deal. Buying all the different toys, putting in the codes to collect the promos and chatting with people about them. Man i miss old aj...

even though i only played AJ classic YEARS AGO already (I played AJPW at 2022 to early 2023 (which means i made old videos with that game), i quit because i was addicted), It's honestly sad to see a game i loved so much as a kid become boring and full of capitalism, I used to have fun playing AJC so much before flash got taken down
