Nice video, thanks for sharing. We had our lunch on the same bench at the pool in Stockwell Heath while doing the Staffs Way back in February 2000. All the best, Peter.
Came across your video while trying find the location of an old photo taken while walking the Staffs Way in November some 25 years ago. I think you have solved it for me, being Hawksmoor Wood. All the best Peter.
Nice little series this. Thanks for posting. Have you ever had any landowners kick you off their land while you've been wild camping?
Is the Staffordshire way walk well sign posted or difficult?
Great Series watch, ive probably walked 250,000 miles in my life, but dont like Camping in Any form LLM
Great watch, enjoying watching so far 6 parts to go. And getting nearer to areas i know
Really enjoyable. I walked the Staffordshire Way when I was 17 with some mates and was about as organised as you'd imagine. I'm from Stafford originally so Cannock Chase was on the dootstep. Great work. Hope you're still walking and making videos.
Chillington Hall. Toffs who are the great great great x20 grandchildren of a bloke who came over with William the Conqueror and they still think its 1066. Sad.
More good stuff. Youre right, eyond Penkridge is a bit bland compared to the Chase.
The packhorse bridge 9'29" is called Essex Bridge. Tolkein was stationed on Cannock Chase during WWI and lived in Great Haywood just near it. He featured the bridge as well as Shugborough Hall in his work.
When I was 17, me and my mates walked the Staffordshire Way. It was a baking hot week. The hottest that year. I was rugby fit then but not walking fit and we collapsed in the shade of one of those trees near Blithfield Reservoir. It was bliss. Despite sitting in dried sheep droppings.
Its a nice village Abbotts Bromley. There is a very traditional horn dance that has been performed for hundreds of years... and nobody knows the origins or why it happens. Slightly mad.
Jan 1 till early March I've walked the equivalent to Staffordshire way and back, I couldn't actually walk the Staffordshire Way though!
Great work. Bonus points for the Staffordshire Oatcakes. Incidentally, on your Rocester pronunciation, it's pron 'Roaster' and Uttoxeter is 'Yewtoxeter'. But they're details you probably wouldn't know so no faux pas. Great video. Really loved it.
Oh, and wondering if that fire damaged pub was the Black Lion in Consall Forge. In the 1980s my Dad worked in the countryside department at Staffs County Council and footpaths - including this one - was part of his gig. One day we walked part of the footpath ending up at the Black Lion. The landlady of the time had fallen out with the villagers and when we went in we were the only ones there. The place looked as though a bar fight had not long taken place. The furniture was damaged, the ashtrays were cracked and the tables wobbly. A huge Alsatian leapt from behind the bar and put it front feet onto the bar and started barking. "DOWN, SATAN!" shouted the landlady. It remains my benchmark for pub warm welcomes...
Staffordshire Knot fact. The knot you spotted on the Staffordshire Way markers and the village noticeboard is the Staffordshire Knot. It first appeared in heraldry in the 16th century but the version I like is that it was a knot invented by a hangman to hang three villains with the one piece of rope he brought. Roadsigns welcoming you to Staffordshire call it the 'creative county'. I can maybe see why. Great video.
"There a bunch of no camping signs as well, but who cares about that." Really!!!! Not a good thing to say really is it? Showing complete disrespect for signs whether or not you actually camped doesn't do the reputation of people who do wild camp any good at all. Quite frankly it's disgusting that you said that.
Awesome. I am planning to take a week off work this summer and aim to complete it wild camping in 6 days or less😁
I’ve done it in 6 days hardest thing I’ve ever done n it hurt for weeks lmk when u doin it
Is there a problem with the audio?
Hi there, enjoyable series of videos, atb Simon

Well done, glad ive found you out, cheers 🍻
With you all along, really enjoyed your filming & information as your keep the momentum going along, I'm part of 130 minders who help way mark the Monarchs way route, following the escape of Charles 2 after the battle of Worcester & his escape finally from Shoreham if your up for the Big O/S walk its well marked all along, lots of history all along Cheers Paul
Respect to you, really enjoyed your walk, you never jumped to far ahead while filming along the way & kept it interesting well done.
The ‘cool building’ in Enville opposite The Cat is the old village school (now a house). The rock cave with gate is the ice house belonging to Enville Hall. There used to be a three way sign on Kinver Edge where the Staffordshire Way, Worcestershire way and North Worcestershire Path met.
i really loved these series of videos you made thanks for for sharing
This series was great! I am walking OD this October, not wild camping!, and your videos gave me an idea of weather and clothing. Did you ever post #13? I can't find it.
Brilliantly made and commented upon. Well done.
Sir, I’ve decided to board a flight from bongola to walk this path
"Promosm"

Thanks for taking us along on this one sir
Really enjoyed it .... a part of the country unfamiliar to me. Cheers from Cornwall.
Thanks! Cornwall (via the SWCP) is on my list of hikes I want to do 😀
I hear this is the toughest day on the walk. My quest begins end of June.
The weather should be perfect then, good luck!
Nice trip out for you in great conditions. Best wishes on the next.
Good video. Just down the road from where I live.
I grew up in Appley Bridge, just back visiting family this time though.
Looks cold sir
