I Made Woods For The Movie On Journey To The Mysterious Forest Island Movie 🎥😅?
As an animator myself I've been a fan of Jim's work since I was a kid. When Dinosaurs Ruled The Earth is a masterpiece. I watched the super-8mm reels bought from the back of Famous Monsters over and over. I was thrilled to chat with Jim on a couple of occasions. What a masterful artist and master of the craft.
Well, he was going about his business until you started shooting at him.
SUPER!!😊😊
In the 1966 Columbia remake of The Ten Commandments, the standard logo of Columbia was stylized into Moses holding the tablets in one hand and the staff in the other hand with the same gesture as the Columbia woman holding a torch.. ( The 1956 Paramount original had the Paramount logo stylized as Mount Sinai)

Is that Robert Vaughn doing narration at 30:00?
Y de que año es ésta película?
ammazza che cagata
What a fabulous explanation of this fantastic film! Thanks for having Mr. Arnold bring his perspectives to us.
T-Rex fall and business on cliffside are brilliant. Love the Horned Lizard.
at 16:40..how did he have actor cross in front of Cormoran?
He painted Jack frame by frame on pieces of glass. He and Phil Kellison came up with what they called, “The animated glass shot.” It was also used where Jack knocks the sand bucket into the giant’s eyes. Painted on glass frame by frame during the stop-motion. Must’ve taken forever.
@@biffmercury Thank you..Ingenious! Danforth paints very well, too. I recall in a Cinemagic, the panes in a holder, Kellison placing them.
This is terrific! We hardly hear from this masterful artist, Jim Danforth. His armatures, design, matte work are epic.
I’ve seen this scene before
Jim Danforth was also a Boss in stop-motion, I was amazed with his work in "When Dinosaurs…", this movie clip confort my opinion, his talents are great and various. I saw the wonderfull illustrations he painted and even glass matte paintings!
Thanks for sharing this. Hey Chris!
Thank you Jim, love ya work!
Oh how I love stop-motion giant monsters in the movies!
He was minding his own business until you shot him ya dick.
I love stop motion a specialy the disturbing one
Yep, such detail. A true artist... love his stuff.
If I only could have known to try to see this in person back in the day. Thanks for putting the video up, very cool.
Mine too! Magnificent entertainer all round. I always turn to Joan for comfort film.
I Like That Working With Dinosaurs The Stop Motion World Of Ray Harryhausen For Make My Movies 🎥😊?
They made a mistake in representing Bithia as Sethi's sister, when in actuality, she was his daughter.
That's your takeaway??
@@rubiks6 And what of it?
@@rubiks6 No, I just wanted some moron to make a stupid comment.
This is amazing! You can see his passion for the story. The film still endures as a classic. Seek it out with a good print to really see the Glory.🤗🤗🤗
Have you seen the 1966 Columbia remake of the Ten Commandments..i hope so.. The actor as Moses was H - - - ,- TON
Not a classic beauty but she had star power. I love all her wonderful films.
“If you want the girl next-door… Go next -door!” Good for Joan! 😮
Genius!
got that creature on a shirt
This is really neat!
I love it! Looking forward to the finished film!
This was so well done since special effects were not as easy to do as they are now. Same with the Collossal man.
Good matching on lighting too!
Both Willis Obrian and Ray Harryhausen's stop motion creatures seem to have one foot in reality and the other in fantasy on the screen. Both men's subjects appear very warm and alive, While displaying a great deal of peronality. Creatures made by Computer graphics lack the warmth & personality of Ray H. & Willis O. creatures. Todays subjects/creatures made by computer are not limited to the laws of gravity. So this will usually have a negative effect on the operators self discipline which will effect the outcome of the film.
What garbage is this
смех на палке😆🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂
The Kraken looks better then the cutesy gumby looking creature they went with in the final version of the film. Plus Delgado's best days were behind him at this point. Could you imagine if Harryhausen had built and animated the creatures?
Poor creature
Can anyone name this animal I just wanna know
what is that movie
I think it's test footage for an unmade movie project.
This, for me too, was a special film...because it told a special story -- philosophical as it was frightening, poignant as it was thrilling. I saw it when it first came out, as a seven-year-old (whuh?!), and its ending haunts me to this day
Of course.
Beyond fascinating. Arnold was a genius. Hope the kitty wasn't starved for the dollhouse scene, though. 😿🤔
One can never get enough about the Great Ray Harryhausen: single-handedly did the fantastic and magnificently dramatic creations for decades of wondrous productions. Only him. One man! One incredibly brilliant, charming, humble man. If it was a Ray Harryhausen movie, you knew you were in for a magical experience like nothing you'd ever seen before! Creatures the pathos of which could make an audience weep.
