Fond memories of playing this in the early 90's when I was around 12. Yeah, it's basic, but back then we used our imaginations instead of having access to all human knowledge on the internet.

It's our favourite game in our house. When our kids were young, we used the kids cards for them, and the adults used the original ones. Now they are 15 and 18 and play the adult cards. They play really well, and it's always the game they pick on game nights.

Great explanation...much better than some other videos that were just rambling away reading from the instructions booklet. Thanks for this.

Thanks for this video, I played this game today with some friends after 10 years since my last game. I agree with you about tweking the game to make it more enjoyable for everyone. For example, one rule that is not explained in the instructions is: can Mister X go past a detective if he get the bus or underground? I think he shouldn't. In this way, the strategy of the games gets deeper.

So what happens when the challenge space is won. How do you proceed? Do you move any spaces? Does the current team get another turn if they win it? If the team that is not their turn wins, do they move? How many spaces? How is that decided? You only drew one card, so do you only move one space out of the challenge space? Or do you juat continue reading challenge space cards?

Awesome❗ I still got that one when my family would visit the UK in the summer. I've collected Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles books, mugs and other merchandise that I was able to buy before going back to the USA. My ex-stepdad quit bringing us to the England after I have graduated from high school. I still have my hero turtles collection along with my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, shopping for more to finish the rest of my collecting on the turtles❗❗

How do you get to round 24? The rule book I have say the game is won by Mr X, and the detectives only get 22 counters (10+8+4) though I have seen other rules with 23 counters (11+8+4). Still, I dont see how you get to round 24?

This is a game of skill. No chance like rolling of die or randomness involved. Just luuuurve this board game.

3:08 That was the WORST explanation of "extra players". I couldn't understand anything this guy was talking about. He shows 5 colored pieces, then goes on this half-assed rambling explanation of what to do if there are 2-3 other extra players, or if you're lacking 2-3 other players I don't know. I have no idea what he's trying to say from 3:08-3:48.

It's curious that you mention that the game is tilted in favor of Mr. X because I've yet to play a game where Mr. X has not been caught. It's possible that I'm just a terrible Mr. X.
