Brits are not welcome in Spain any more. For over 50 years the Brits have made the Spanish rich by holidaying in Spain. Buying houses there though has pushed the locals out of the property market, just like Cornwall and North Wales back home. Now the Spanish, quite rightly, want a ban on Johnny foreigner buying property. It is also time Britain stopped Johnny foreigner buying Britain, especially in London - in line with most countries in the world.

The general impression I get: Nice: very friendly people (outstanding), extremely good food, nice weather, relaxed attitude, sea, lots of houses have a pool, nice landscape. - Not nice: some nationalism (languages), noise from neighbor at very late hours (due to siësta), difficult to make a proper living, lower productivity(manana), high taxes

A couple with no kids and pets. 3 bedroom casa adosada (townhouse) 2bathrooms, 45 minutes from Malaga Airport. Total with electricity and water and internet = 1280. Then add car insurance, and petrol that's about 100 per month (or less), then medical insurance for 2 / 220 per month. Groceries 160 per month. Eating out 100 per month. (not a fancy restaurant) still under 2000 per month..... That was PURE LUCK. You need to add the car insurance costs as well which should be 40-50 EUR/month.

Wise has been a disaster. They ask you to take photos of ID documents which in Europe have anti-fraud reflective strips. It's almost impossible and you need a really good camera in your mobile phone to have a chance. I had to use a friend's phone. Then the first time I tried to make a transfer, they ask for the same documents again. This time I tried to use my new Galaxy Tablet but when you follow their instructions and turn the tablet to trigger portrait mode, their software does not detect the movement and so it block on a page. So I'm not able to use my account nor even close it as I can't take out the money I put in, which you need to do before closing the account. AVOID AND STICK WITH PAYPAL
