    Hi Q T, the pipe line looks good. i would add a few more supports on the horizontal sections also i like cameras. put a top mounted camera on the bottom and just switch from top to bottom as needed . is there a minimum distance between drills? base is looking good. till the next one, bye

    There really needs to be some conveyor/pipes that are 45 degree angled to make slope work like this look A LOT cleaner. The closest solution without a MOD/new blocks is to use hinges at the top/bottom of the slope. You indicated 1 welder on the Boxfish was having trouble welding some things.. perhaps now you've figured out where that incomplete conveyor is. When you build the next solar tower, GO BIG! Something like twice as tall as the current one, and 2-3X the solar panels. If you can't see it from space, it isn't big enough (heh). Next phase, O2/H2 Gens and storage tanks for the base so the Sol Strider isn't doing all the work.

    The Weldbox has been redeemed. You should do your little 'cheese the daylight' thing from a distance again, to see how far off you are from getting solar non-stop. Is it height alone, or are you just a bit outside the area getting perpetual light? You may want to build an additional solar tower where it does get perpetual light, and then connect it up to the base. Currently, you're supplying the base with O2 from the Sol Strider (unless I missed in the time-lapse where you added an O2/H2 with ice to the base). If that is going to be the main power station for much of the Moon Base Complex, it'll need more batteries, especially because the current solar tower doesn't get perpetual sunlight. There is a way to get the Jump Box to track the sun too, to maximize solar charging vs relying on the reactor 100%. Place at least a seat in the power station, for when "Energy is Low", unless you like having to scramble to one of the ships to recharge.

    If you put the keyword "Special" in the name of the cargo box on Box Feesh, Isy's will leave it alone, plus, you can edit the custom text to specify what you want loaded into that cargo container whenever you dock with the Sol Strider or other manufacturing base. Definitely build a second solar tower, but taller. I like the idea of several smaller habitats linked by walkway tubes that follow the terrain - I've yet to do that myself, one of the next challenges I have to attempt.

    The space ukranium mine might need a solar back up, just for emergencies like this. And, indeed, the moon base should have a solar farm - keep the ukranium for ships.

    The down side to updating a build design using a blueprint is, as you experienced here, that sometimes there are internal blocks that get missed. The T-junction sounds like something connecting both welder arms to the main cargo/conveyor line. Without doing a test-weld, (or at least trying to grab items out of the cargo via a welder) you won't know which T-junction to look for. "We redeemed the Boxfish" has yet to be proven. Perhaps we'll find out when next we return... same Tator time, same Tator channel.

    Build a new ship in creative, then print it like you did with the dropship, I tend to fast forward through building until something interesting happens anyway. Glad to hear you sounding better btw.

      Yeah I hear ya. I don't want to do a ton of stuff off screen, cause things just appear, and I don't know. We shall see. But i did move froward designing a ship in creative, But I may also use creative to tear the Boxfish down and see if its doable with regards to welder ship.

    At least you figured out your small port issue before you started welding something and then sat there baffled why it wasn't fully welding things up. The welders on hinges (on a ship) seems like a useless feature. What were your thoughts as to why you built it that way? During the rebuild, save the armor and greebles until AFTER everything else is connected and working the way you want it. If something needs to be changed, there's far less to remove in order to redesign/re-route.

      Hinge is a design queue from gravity welders. essentially have a very strong single direction thrust. IE lift thrust, and then rotate the welders up and down to weld ceiling and floor, rather than pitch the ship and rely on reverse thrust to stay aloft.

    Road Trip!! Kinda. . . . . Well, the dropship was true to its name, it is a ship and it dropped. Time to upgrade it with the things needed to make it useful. Bear in mind that ores might not spawn within 5000 metres of the surface stations, so be prepared for that.

    Hi Q. T. you r sounding better. i like learning the trick with finding the N. and S. poles. i like using the lcd cross better than the auto connecter. yes, drop ship needs some more work, but still works for the basics. just an ongoing process. lol. see yall later

      Appreciate it. Good to be on the mend. I wish there were a more in game way to find the poles, without using admin, googling coordinates for each planetoid, or just sitting and watching the sun rotate for however long.

    That's what I thought... you Tater people are ALWAYS attracted to the eyes. 😁 I agree, the drop ship needs to be dropped, and start over with a new design. As long as you have the needed resources, H2 thrusters are the way to go as they work everywhere... space and atmosphere. You were burning through your fuel so fast because you had way too many thrusters active for the moon's low gravity. New ship design... a basic box shape would work (call it the DropBox). You just need 1 large H2 tank, 1 large thruster in each direction (maybe 2 for lift), 1 large cargo, ore detector, O2H2 gen, and a survival kit. Once you scout out the best location for sunlight with ore & ice mines close by, set up your solar tower and some batteries. Go back to Sol Strider and load up. Take enough supplies to set up 2 mines (ice & iron), and some sort of a pressurized small starter base. I think there's a way with a custom turret controller, a camera, and the gyros on the Sol Strider, to cause the ship to rotate with the sun so while you're on the moon, it stays charged.

    Glad to hear you're starting to feel better. CONGRATS! on the engagement! With you being Quantum TATOR, I'm guessing you knew she was the one because of her EYES ? What in the heck was going on with the H2 thrusters on your miner (on/off/on/off), and the warning of Unsafe Grids (alternating with the Experimental Mode flag) ? (In the voice of Jeff Dunham's Peanut) What did you do? If you use multiple types of thrusters on a ship, just set up the hotbar to turn on/off all of a certain type. In atmo, no problem, turn on all Atmo, turn off all Ion/H2. In space, turn off all Atmo, turn on all Ion or H2. Etc. Watching verious people using Nanobots Build & Repair, that mod confuses me. Originally I thought it welded up closest first. Nope. Then I thought it welded in the order the blocks were placed. (maybe) I also thought it gave priority to local grid first, then sub-grids, and then (with fly mode on) other grids. Nope. I even tried to look it up on the workshop to see if there was documentation about build priorities, but didn't find anything conclusive. Maybe it's just RANDOM? You called the new ship a Drop Ship... but what are you going to drop it from? It's got H2 and Atmo thrusters, so it's "Well Rounded" for flying anywhere. Call it "The Bubble" ? In a way, the new ship is a ship that's planned for going ashore. "Ship to Shore" (aka STS). The other ships used the "Strider" theme, which is a way bugs stay on the water. You "skip" a stone across water to keep it on top. (an alternative to striding) Call it the "STS Skipper" ?

    If you put a remote control on the Jump module, you would not even have to leave the Sol Strider to redock. With the moon base idea, instead of making Sol Strider the base, put some merge blocks on it and use it as a base module, then expand around it, that way, if you need to leave for any reason, it is a simple matter of unmerging and lifting off without having to grind new blocks off, and the rest of the base stays where it is for your return.

    Oh Yuck! Covid for Thanksgiving. I feel bad for ya dude. Get well soon. I started building my own 25x25x25 cube out in space in Creative. Holy crap that's a lot of blocks just to fill one side in (5 more to go). I'll make a few blueprints along the way, like when the outer shell is done. (if I lay out all the conveyors to connect H2 thrusters, I don't have to remove them all to switch over to Ion, and other reasons like that) You built a mining ship without forward lighting? Were you expecting to only do daytime mining or something? Docking Target... nice idea. Jump drives sure do come in handy when you have to travel quite a distance between mining outposts. If you go with no Build & Repair next series, that just means more time-lapse/time-skip segments for building anything big. Sol Strider as a Moon Base... 1 benefit would be that you can easily disconnect it from the voxel and convert it back to a working ship if needed, if you leave it as-is. 1 detraction would be, it's not an easy layout to expand if you want more refineries or whatever. Any expansions would either go with you or would have to be chopped off (if you convert back to a ship for some reason). When you say "Frigate", are you meaning a heavy combat ship, or a cargo ship that can defend itself pretty well?

    How not to project a blueprint: Start by repeatedly not making a blueprint of what you just built. Got it. So the "point of origin" is always the first block built in the grid. That helps explain why some people like to start with a connector (or sometimes a merge block) as the first block built in a ship/drone grid. If that first block gets deleted/removed and then a new blueprint is made of the grid, then does the 'point of origin' get transferred to the 2nd block built? I haven't yet used blueprints, but if I ever do, at least I'll have a better grasp on what to do if the projection alignment comes out a bit wonky.

      As far as if the pivot point gets changed. It does not. So if you build off large grid to a small rotor head, and go up 20 blocks, to start the build out. Then cut the blueprint lose, the origin would be 20 blocks down. or whichever direction you went from block one. The only way to transfer a pivot point, Is to essentially paste the whole grid to a new block. Which will become the pivot. At least that is the only wav I have seen. There may be a mod for changing origin blocks. Or you may even be able to merge it. I will test that out, but Clyde may not be able to handle another QT How to haha

      Yeah... worth a look. But I am not sure it would be time to start the pirate Journey. Raise the Jolly Roger. etc.

    Don't forget about a nifty block called the SORTER, to prevent the mining outpost refinery from grabbing docked ship ore inventory. Moon base, or Asteroid base... up to you. I was just pointing out last episode, one of the advantages of building it on the moon.

      Moon could be good, just because ION works in gravity there. Could be awesome. I need to work out the year end schedule so to speak. Have a lot of planets to get to prior to the end of all things. That being said. What do you think would be an interesting start for a new series. Not that we are there yet.

      @@Quantum_Tator New series idea(s) ? 1. Pick a planet/moon of your choice. Hand mining only to get the base built. (No drill mods or piston drills) Any rover or flyer you make can only be remote controlled from the base, such as to scout for and mine ores. End goal: Build a rocket to launch you into space to another planet/moon. 2. Suit-Only start. Scavenge/steal everything to build a basic ship with a survival kit. From there, go planet-side or build asteroid mining outposts... however you want to play. 3. Start anywhere. End goal is to build a LG 25x25x25 (or larger) Borg Cube with all thrusters and machines on the inside. Only weapons & decorations on the outside.

    _Ukranium!!_ w00t! On the subject of mining depots, maybe if you create several small common modules that can fit together different ways would be useful, rather than one big design that will only really be optimal for one depot. The fuel depot base looks really good. The Hunt was long, tedious, annoying, but ultimately successful, well done!

      I think the idea of Base Modules that can be printed and installed. could be a really cool Concept. and would allow for the main base to print, then transport them with maybe a retrofitted box fish. Or build a transport ship that would piggy back off the Sol Strider.

    hi Q T. enjoyed the video as always. on my hot bar , i have my 3 stipe welder, i have my 1 stripe grinder on 1, i have my 3 stripe drill on 3, my light armor blocks on 4 and i put my 3 stripe grinder on 5. so if im welding something and booboo. i just hit 2. now if i have a big job grinding i go to 5. works for me.. also, if u have another earthlike planet u can go to, try Earthlike Animals mod. it is hillarius. till next time, bye
