Episode 4 of Paradiso Craft: I've been working on a bunch of tabletop games stuff but recently I had a frenzied day of obsessively making a new housing for a milk frother, out of plywood of all things. Why did I feel the need to do this? Why plywood? I ask myself these questions and more!

    I think I've stumbled upon a literal hidden gem. Now I really want one of those Muji planners so I can do something like this myself so badly lol. AND you've got Mothership content? I'm definitely keeping an eye on your channel. So excited to see what other artistic stuff you do!

    I love this!! I understand what you mean about the "blank" feeling of the back. I personally would try to make the spine or shoulder blades more prominent; it would lead the eye along the less detailed back and is accurate to high-muscle animals, like bears? I think having a slightly raised, high-contrast colored spine/shoulder blades would make sense, with how much excess flesh it has to hold up while starving; I think a good visual reference would be chronic wasting disease! Be careful looking up images if you're averse to injured animals tho!!

    This is amazing. I bought WBR for mothership recently and this tool is so good! When will you be releasing the full version? I don’t really have an interest in Fantasy RPG, mostly Sci-Fi horror. Would love to be able to add my own maps and soundtracks for other MoSh modules!

    Did you consider putting the inner complainants of the working inside the casing of the old one with the burnt out motor? Best of both worlds no? USB C, better motor, with a metal case that fits the stand perfectly.

    I'm super impressed you succeeded within one day so you can be excused embracing the rustic aesthetic (;P ;P ;P) It's interesting how it depends on what the item is used for to determine what makes it nice to use. I like a knife forged in fire. I imagine my clothes made from fields of soft cotton. A shoe with leather hammered thick (is that how shoes are made doesn't matter just go with it). First thing in the morning, spaced out, head bleary from another world.. the matcha, the tea. the sky. yeah I can see a cheap-ass insulting splintering plastic frother getting the depression started a bit too early. And I honestly, now I've forgotten where this train of thought led me to that was interesting enough to be actually worth writing such a long pretentious comment. but the thing I see in practice in some pieces, as well as their lines of reasoning, in rustic & handmade, bad-on-purpose pieces is that there may be less care in it. ironically, to me it circles back to a more theoretical and aesthetic admiration rather than a genuine slowness, deliberateness, attention, care. of course I try not to extend intangible philosophical nonsense like this to people + personalities but nevertheless it sticks in my own head while I craft and create stuff so I figured you'd find it interesting. to be fair, though, I fully admire the practicality of completing this in a day and actually emerging with a piece rather than being positively unable to put the Dremel down cuz that's me. look, just hand it over I'LL fix the face. jk it's super cute and great the way it is. I need to stop going back over this comment and leave it as is. There's only so much you can tinker before you realize you've spent too much time on something. bai

    I like the video but the execution was horrible 😅 I couldn't tell if you intended for it to come out looking ugly. I think I just had high expectations seeing other channels make something a bit better and then make it look like you can buy that improved item in a store. But if you're happy with ur new and improved item then it's okay, no matter the aesthetics.

    • @ultraparadiso

      lol fair enough! i like how it looks but like i said in the video, it was a quick 1-day build with questionable materials & i really shoulda used that 2x4. def not going for a store bought look tho anyway, glad you enjoyed the video :)

    the same shop that produces these caps already sells sets of coloured keycaps. I'd get the coloured keycaps in your place, alongside the white. because the caps to which you've transferred just legends, look great, and the ones you've tried colouring look so-so. this shop definitely have black ones and also some transparent ones which would look sick on the nuphy considering the backlighting. I'd personally use the transparent red as the escape key for instance. and I believe, since it's all the same materials, they should work just as well. though, maybe the issue is that you cannot dye sublimate white ink? I'm not sure. thanks for this video anyway. been having the exact same plan and you've just proved that it's possible!

    • @ultraparadiso
      @ultraparadiso 24 дні тому

      @@ultraparadiso I could find sublimation heat presses on Amazon for less than €30. do you think a dedicated product as such could do a better job than a hair straightener?

    • @ultraparadiso
      @ultraparadiso 15 днів тому

      definitely something purpose made should do better! i think the issue i had with blotchiness on the color keys was caused by the varying thickness of the keycaps where the stems are vs between them resulting in uneven heat distribution. not sure how to resolve that issue other than doing the whole process in an oven and preheating the caps but hopefully a purpose built device could do a better job.

    • @YotamGuttman
      @YotamGuttman 15 днів тому

      I see what you mean. a sublimation heat press is still flat because it's meant for transferring print onto clothing. maybe if there's some soft heat conducting material that can fill the cavity of the keycap while transferring the heat from the press would do the trick @@ultraparadiso

    • @python_b
      @python_b Місяць тому

      I would guess overall neatness of a shot. Also in some cases you really don't want skin oils to get on things, like when cleaning electronics, because they are somewhat corrosive, or printing because you usually clean oils from surface using isopropyl alcohol before printing to help ink stick (no clue about this method of printing though).
