Y’all I remember getting the magic ball and really disappointed I got a Hercules character as I was actually a lion King fan. I never understood how people could choke on this. There wasn’t a lot of chocolate if you just bit on the top of it and broke it open. You were fine kind of gross thinking there was a plastic toy inside lol but at the time I was so excited about the element of surprise my sister and me got it at the local convenience/gas station in town. We were so excited. We only got to get it once though I guess they cost a lot of money my mom well we had a really beg her to get us to buy them as we had no money of our own. I must’ve been 12 or 13 when these came out? I know these came out before 2000.

We did have something like that in the USA in the 90s I remember them the toy was in the chocolate.

America is an over regulated and litigious country.

If a parent/adult or responsible guardian is actually being responsible while allowing children to have said wonderball, it wouldn't have ruined chances for the product to keep being sold. Also, kinder eggs are sold at our local Walmart here in the US. Yes it is probably different than the UK kinder but.. it goes to show that a few bad eggs who lack parental supervision skills can ruin things for everyone. Hey, I like wonderballs for nostalgia. Where did the world go haywire?

Thank god someone else noticed they changed Ditto’s color, lol. In the anime it was pink, but later on the changed it to purple to the point where most Ditto merch is in that color now

Getting Blaziken is on my bucket list. I have a torchic plush (not pokedoll) and i think it would be so cool to have them both. I love fire-type pokemon even if I've only ever played the games on my browser and watched a few episodes of the series. Blaziken is probably my favorite pokemon of all. Unless ebay suddenly because a trust-able thing, i probably won't be able to get it. but theres still hope ;) I might try to get one of the sitting cuties. They are slightly similar to pokedolls and they are cheaper

This is it!!! I had that same Pojo magazine way back in the day! Fantastic issue that revealed all the new "Neo" (gold/silver) pokemon, somewhat poorly hand-drawn from their sprites with Japanese names listed. I remember reading the article about the exhibit and assumed t was some sort of Pokemon Snap-style exhibit. I've thought about it every once in a while but similarly couldn't find a shred of evidence on it.

I love the Nestle magic l love the fact the candy came with a toy even though I wasn't that big fan of chocolate, it was the reason why Loved McDonnel as a kid, not for food (I was a rare kid who played with the Mcdonnel toy for weeks and not just for 5 min) but for the toy. and I was sad when couldn't find it in the store no more. but when came out Wonder Boy I thought it was ripped off and we were cheated on. no cool toy just a stupid sticker I thought I was lame and boycotted the Wonder Boy. which was weird to do as 8 year old kid.

I went here as a kid and remember keeping the checklist they handed out for a long time.

1:53 Pretty certain that Marill plush is either unreleased or on unfathomable levels of rare. It’s part of a third wave of electronic talking plushes, wave 1 being the well-known I Choose You! Pikachu plush and the second wave adding Togepi and that Mew that’s also shown in that clip. A couple ancient fansites say the third wave was apparently supposed to be Pichu and this Marill. The Pichu did release, but at what seems to be extremely limited quantities in a handful of non-US countries, as evidenced by a tiny handful of photos and videos that exist online. (It was essentially a retool of the Pikachu mech with Pichu voice lines and appearance) I wouldn’t be surprised if the Marill was just a retool of the Togepi (which just vibrates in a circular pattern), but there’s literally no way of telling since we don’t have any product description or footage of it in action to go off of. If it did release then I hope I can somehow get my hands on one someday along with the Pichu to complete the full lineup.

I just realized the Pikachu plushie i've had as long as I was able to remember (literally like 1 years old) is from PCNY. Someone (brother/parents etc) bought it for me when my brother went, and even though I don't remember I really wish I got to be in the store even if I was a toddler. At least I have my friend as a keepsake.
