Could someone tell me if it's worth getting the 4x4 or the hybrid? I may be doing some rough terrain (agriculture/farming/etc.) but I'd want to save on fuel/be eco.

People need to consider the full spectrum of things when it comes to cars, in my opinion. Do you prefer minimalist cars, or do you enjoy more buttons and a premium feel when sitting inside? Do you want a tight car that’s stiff and bumpy but great in corners, or do you prefer a car that prioritizes comfort? The iTAC system in the Sealion actually helps make the softer car still decent in corners, even though it leans more. iTAC applies slight braking to the inner wheels and sends all the power to the outer wheels at higher speeds in corners, helping the Sealion navigate turns. So, it’s not as bad as some people claim, even though it’s softer. Then we come to the batteries. The Sealion's LFP battery can be charged to 100% at home every day, while most Tesla Long Range and Performance owners will stop charging at around 80%. So, while the Sealion uses a bit more energy due to its weight, it still offers at least comparable range for everyday driving since it runs on a full 100% battery. Personally, I like the Sealion better, and I have a Sealion in Indigo Grey on order in the Exclusive version.

The back end is shocking i couldn’t live without looks great until you get towards the back then it just looks wrong

I'm a Brit living in Australia and have a 2024 Musso Ultimate XLV Lux auto (basically the top of the range LWB), compared to your model, I have extra speakers, electric sunroof and no blank (lane assist) buttons !! Cost AUD$46,000 new (approx 23,000 quid) with a 7 year warranty. Its a great ute (pick-up) and based off the SUV. In Australia, utes are the best selling vehicles and are used as an everyday car.

Specs is one thing, a nice drive and touching the sweet spots should provide more insight. The Model Y is already 5 years old and frankly less attractive, especially in terms of operating the vehicle.

BYD SeaLion 7 is about 450kg heavier than Model Y , you will see the consumption difference in city driving , often start/stop makes BYD consumption much higher than Tesla .

The BYD Sealion 7 looks better than the Tesla Model Y. The proportions on the Sealion 7 seem well balanced while the Model Y's proportions just look a bit odd.

Toyota yaris cross small suv comfortable and easy to drive hybrid very economical and a surprisingly large boot space.

For a really good value, compact, affordable EV: Leapmotor T03. Under £16k and includes tech features that are not standard on more affordable cars. It should do well, but needs a big brand badge on the front to increase sales in the UK at least.

It should be noted if passed you're test after 1996 (about) you can not Tow more than 3500 gross train weight with out a light goods drivers class licence c i think

I’ve owned 3 full of glitches in electrics . Current 2023 model had electrical faults for more than a year and they cannot fix it. Won’t buy another and getting rid of current one.

The BYD has not got an "arguably" better interior - it has a "hands down" better interior. As with the range - Tesla has been know to stretch the truth lets say.

Had one for 3 months only thing I would say is ground clearance everything else ok

It was solely down to you I bought my Dacia from Weybridge then drove it back to Lancashire when of course it would have been easier to get it from Lancashire but I was so impressed with all the upfront video's I opted for Weybridge. Add a different colour on a Tesla and the price increases, plus BYD also has Hud. You can also use the Tesla superchargers if u need too . Haven't got either still looking at options just fyi😊

Tesla is tried and tested, BYD is new comer, they need to sell them at much lower price to attract buyers, as it is Tesla wins.

Plenty of people in UK will lease these alongaide salary sacrifice tobwhich i find the monthly costs will be vastely different with Tesla being way up on the insurance bands thus higher monthly costs at least in my experience.

Absolutely crazy prices from BYD. No chance i would buy one over a model Y, especially with a new model Y available in 2025. Also BYD will not have access to all Tesla chargers, yet Tesla will have access to all Tesla chargers and all chargers the BYD uses, and can charge at really fast speeds on all of the same ones the BYD can. The Tesla software will be slick and work, and get better over time. Make the BYD £10k cheaper and it is going to be very competitive.

What the Hell is going on with these prices, 57,290 pounds is $115,870.66 Australian Dollars, bet it is nowhere near this price when it comes to OZ in 2025......if it is it will never sell here... WTF

Hi Max! The Urban Cruiser is based on the new Suzuki e Vitara which will be build in India. Maximum charging rate will be 150kwh which is much faster the the R4. I don't know about the prices but I would suggest the R4 will be much cheaper. Charging speed and the possibility of getting an awd CUV will get me to the Toyota /Suzuki. But for the emotions and probably the price I would consider the Renault. The Ford Puma electric doesn't get me at all. If Renault had a faster DC charging and a little frunk (froot in Britain 😁) at least for the cables I would go all in for the R4 and the R5.
