MSI Ventus 2X OC RTX 3060 Ti Disassembly & Noise, Boost Clock, Overclock, and Power Limit Showcase
Edit: The thermal pads that I said make contact with the capacitors at around 4:50 actually make contact with the VRM mosfets (as they should).
No benchmarks in this video. Performance should be as expected of an RTX 3060 Ti so go watch other 3060 Ti benchmark videos!
In this video, we'll take a look at the physical card itself, the loudness of the fans, its boost clocks in games out of the box, its power limit flexibility, and its OCing potential. Since I don't have any other 3060 Tis in hand to compare this one to, you'll just have to use this video as a reference and make a decision for yourself to see if this card is the right one for you.

Thanks for sharing that, I just brought a used 3060 for a pc that I am selling to make a profit and planning on painting the shroud and the backplate white so it matches the white theme build.
What size are the screws that hold on the fan shroud?
Your calmness is keeping me calm for my first time taking apart my gpu, thanks bro 🙏🏽
Would this be the same as the 3060 verison like same size thermal pads??
we need u back brooooooooooooooo
hi, i'm back
@@TechiverseYT lol about time
Hello, what is the size of the thermal pads in 3060ti msi ventus x2? i cant find this data. thanks
On my MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, which is only 10 months old, I never had a problem with noise until I moved it to my new case. In the old case, a Corsair 250D, it was mounted vertically. However, in the new case, the GPU was mounted in the more typical horizontal mount in a Fractal North case. Unfortunately, when the GPU fans reached high RPM, they started to make a rather irritating noise like minor bearing issues. To test if the angle of the card affected it, I tried tilting the computer, and sure enough, the fan noise went away. Thus, my solution was to buy a Fractal Flex 2 vertical GPU mount for the card. That fixed the noise problem.
Thank you for this very detailed Video!

It would be interesting to see the temperature if you don't put back the plastic back cover...
But how do you take it out of the PC safely?
so what size of thermal pads is used in this card?i wnat to change mine
i managed to replace my 3070 fan myself thanks to this video
what was the size of the thermal pads, did you replace them?
This video really helped me from identified from which one has the longest and short cable to buy a replacement fan
I got this one this year, not so long ago, I come from an RTX 2070 super mini Zotac, do you know if by getting rid of the plastic back plate I can reduce some degrees?
I’m not sure what’s going on with mine, I bought it today and playing games at 1440p medium graphics and the fans are going to take off it seems and then all of a sudden a grinding noise coming from it! And the temperature goes right up to 87c. At this point I want to stick my 1660 back in it
I have just installed this card using the exact same screwdriver. Wtf!
it s soooooooooooo noisy 2200 rpm are they all like that pls answer and 80c not even on high res on spider man remastred
seems good card I had a 3070 ti but it would only run 80% power in my case got so hot. so sent it back. this runs at 100% and is silent too.
there is not much on the card surprised how much heat it can all push out.
do you know if the termal pads are 3mm?
Cual es la medida de los pads termicos de esta grafica ? Para poner unos nuevos
Pad size mm ?
What size are the thermals pads?
The secret for this card is doing undervolt who wants a really good balance silence/temperature, did it in mine and find a nice spot running at 1950 MHz/0.925V reaching only 70ºC on 100% testing in extreme internal climate conditions (32ºC here in the summer without AC). In normal use and gaming in a mild climate temperature is even less.
Disappointing having to separate board from cooler just to eliminate plastic backplate, (I have the 3x) MSI..do better man.
Please do measure the thermal pas thickness with digital vernier caliper for future videos. It really helps. Thanks
Don't understand noise scale. It shows 54 decibels at the bottom and louder it gets it rises to... something. I wonder it it's louder than boxed CPU cooler of Ryzen 5 5500 which is VERY loud. .
Thank you for this video, very helpful <3
Is cooling block ok to apply liquid metal?
Exposed copper heat pipes like that will get eaten away by liquid metal TIMs. Your best option is to go for a graphene sheet or if you want to be a little daring either solder a thin aluminum coldplate to it or electroplate the surface with zinc.
I swear the Ventus series from MSI sucks on Thermal..
ventus is the same as mech for amd; trash.
im new to gpus can i disable this oc bc im scared of it
Dunno if you ever got your answer, but: factory overclocks are perfectly safe and controlled. Generally cards like this are equipped with beefier coolers than the Founders' Edition models from Nvidia and can handle the extra heat produced by OCing the die. As long as your card doesn't exceed 105 degrees Celsius you're in the clear, and under 80 Celsius is ideal.
@@yfnratchet thanks:)
Hi, can you tell me please the thickness of the thermal pads of this card? thanks
Isn't it too much thermal paste on the chip? It was like Nutella on a piece of bread.
My fan make tiny vibrating noise at low speed. Kind wanna replace them with noctua fan
So is it good quality or mediocre?
I have the original version of this card. But 2 issues. 1. Idle watt usage of 45-50 watts Even when just using 1 monitor. And 2. Completely locked down bios. No oc and No fan curve tuning. I AM very confused if i got a defektive card. I got No stabilty issues or Any issues orther than the 2 metioned, card Even runs relatively cool. But power is expensive here and I hate that high watts usage in idle ..
great, detailed, unique video! Love the video, keep the good work up and I hope your channel grows big!
that was a quality video
Thermal pads thickness?
Good work. Thanks for good job. Now i can get my MSI 3070 V. 2x to work ;)
Seems like a loud card
Do you get weird rattling sound at 95+% fan speed? If so, any way to fix this? I don't think it's the fans being defective because both of my fans cause this in isolation. Suspecting the plastic casing around them doing something funky...
please tell me the exact thickness of the thermal pads!! they are not standard 2.25 and 2.75 there ??
Always replace the thermal paste. Otherwise you get air bubbles and that makes hotspots.
Do the heatpipes make proper contact with the memory modules on the bottom of the card cause what I can tell it doesn't make contact at all or just half way
Thermal pads thickness?
Just a question, I own the same card and the right fan is making bearing noise at 95% use and above. Is it possible to take the fan out and lubricate it somehow???
Curious about this, too
Hello, whats the size of thermal pads ? 2mm ?
