Hey Mike, this is a great idea and I’m curious if you’d be interested in doing this mod for my unit. What’s the best way to get in touch?

The one in the video ended up being crap. It didn’t handle accidental reverse polarity and it got too hot and stopped working. Found these for about the same price and they work great. www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07SGWRQGX?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

@@mikerileyii Thanks I don't know what Line 6 was thinking when they did this. I love my G10. I bought a G10S just for the 9v ability but it never worked as good as the G10. Thanks for your video I am definitely going to try this. Mine works fine with some USB cords but not others so I've been wanting to do this for a long time.

I bought a G10S because of the poor USB connector on the G10, but the G10S has horrible reception compared to the G10. I've been using mine for over 5 years and I love it except for the USB. I may attempt this mod.

Thanks so Much for your video and info... I just wondered if I could get the negative and positive from the legs of the silver capacitor fastened to the board ? I’m in the middle Of fitting a new capacitor so would make sense in my case:) thanks :)

I was on my way to get this made on my 2 G10 receivers, searching for some info on the pcb and found your video. Very nice that you already found the connections on the board to use ;-) Still funny that Line6 made this only with USB connection... Anyway, i like the units and the solution is simple. Take care!

Cool. Let me know if it works for you. By the way, Line6 did come out with a pedal board version that runs off of 9v but it’s $75 or $100 more I think.

I wish I had the know-how to do this! That micro-USB connector has given me so many problems. Huge design flaw by Line 6 in my opinion. The connector doesn't even seat fully inside of the receiver. The slightest bump either shuts off the power or makes it start doing the red-blinking light thing which I hate. You should seriously pitch this idea to Line 6!

@@mikerileyii - don't you just love technology, you buy the latest and greatest, before you have even broken it in they come out with the next model that they should have put out in the first place and you have to buy another unit. These pricks ought to be offering some sort of rebate or discount to compensate for their lack of foresight. That said some of the products are update-able when it comes to the firmware and that is commendable but they really need to address the hardware fixes that happen so fast.

How bout the G10? Is the range good? Also will it get through a gig on one charge or do you have to plug it back into the base unit on breaks? Thanks for the video. I subbed👍

Advice from an Aerospace Eng (lol) Just buy a usb to barrel jack and no need to create messy hacks inside of your rig by using the existing power supply. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N7RL57X/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CQMGWIO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
