it does not work on 5.4. Plugins wont appear in engine
Works for all versions. Ensure you have show engine content and plugin flags set to true on your content browser. Otherwise something is wrong with the plugin you’re installing or you’re doing something wrong

Otherwise I did everything as you have shown and I understand that It should work but it does not. Plugins only work if I open sample project from Plugins Folder.

Hi, Are the SpawnRhythmActor and Select RhythmSpline interface functions available to download somewhere or are they part of the midiengine plugin? I'm finding it hard to repllicate the blueprints. I understand a lot of nodes are custom, but could you please let me know how to create the "Switch on String node" "SpawnActronFestivalRhythmActor" and "EnhancedInputAction" nodes. Appreciate it, thanks!
Hey they are part of the midiengine 3 plugin. The switch on string mode is just a default in unreal engine, just drag from a string variable and type "Switch". For the rest of the functionality its honestly recommended you get the plugin. The functions you see like "SpawnActronFestivalRhythmActor" and "SpawnRhythmActor", are just higher level nodes. underneath they are powered by complex C++ code. There's a lot that's going on under the hood but the plugin makes it easier so that you don't need to deal with all of that
How can we use it to script events in the game ? Can we use it to put events based on bpm ? Can we inject midi events through harmonix plugin?
You can , but it’s going to be hell to do so with harmonix plugin, even if you know C++. But you can use the midiEngine plugin for that… it simplifies midievents in Blueprints in the game thread. Midi events are actually MidiNotes(UObjects) and available in gamethread(Uobjects). Harmonix does not expose notes to blueprints. Because harmonix midifiles run in Audio thread. MidiEngine Assets run in gamethread as UObjects…

I'm more interested in a visual interface that would allow me to script events based on bpm. Can I use your plug-in to trigger events and input listening for example? Thank you.

Thank you for all the tutorials you post! After watching them, I am planning to make a VR Dance Rhythm game using Midiengine and am thinking of making 12 highway lanes that the player can hit with their 2 VR hands. Do you think that would be possible? Also, if you have time, there are not a lot of tutorials on how to make rhythm games in Unreal Engine specifically in VR (mine is a VR dancing game), so it would be very appreciative if you have time to make one. Thank you!
The good news is that MidiEngine does not place any restrictions on the number of rhythm lanes you can create. So yes, It’s possible to do 12. Also it shouldn’t affect performance how many lanes you have. For example there is a project that runs 127 lanes. Will try to cover VR one day. But it’s likely the same process its just a different platform and input handling. So once you learn VR input handling you can pretty much do any type of game.

It would be great to be able to have access to a wide variety of front end digital inteuments and visualisers: Piano, drum pad, virtual drum kit launchpad 8x8 with attributable midi to each and mpe, guitar, strings, garageband type instrument mobie setup such as the strings, if these types pf examples came with the package by default then id purchase this in a heartbeat! Being able to make mobile software insruments with these as well as make our own from using them as examples would be fantastic! Also the ability to automatically connect hardware over cable and bluetooth such as midi keyabprds and launchpads to play those software instruments sounds through the physical instruments, to make a yousician type app or game. With sound coming from the software device. As well as the ability to record and register key presses though it in the example demo setup. Making music theory mini games with that would be excellent! In addition to creating companion apps for composition and live performance :) I feel like this would be the future given how much more powerful unreal is becoming with every update. Creators are going to be coming here much more often with the right tools like this. Also if you add theory tools like some of the key, rhythm and note/chord assistant in apps like scaler 2 😊

Yes, it’s recommended you checkout the free alternatives first and see if they will work for your project. Only get MidiEngine if you understand what it does and how it differs from the others. It wasn’t supposed to be on the unreal marketplace, a lot of users asked for it…

This video has not helped me with my projectile issue. However.. I really enjoyed it. Take your money. I'm having an issue with a projectile where if you hit the ground, but the projectile is close to a wall, it will bounce and leave a decal on the wall, no matter the speed of the projectile. Any glues how to get it to not bounce and attach itself to a wall if it's near it?
