I would hope that since the council's anti-voter activities has lead the city to be charged more for litigation insurance that the council pays the voters back for the difference. If this was a result of Cydney's actions solely the city could take her to civil court to recoup the losses.

Considering a substantial budget for legal insurance services, has Burien ever had a year that it was sued as many times as it has this past twelve months? No matter what a politician's PERSONAL agenda, breaking the law is always going to cost more money than what was benefited by breaking the law in the first place. That half a million dollars could provide security at our schools and instead it is used to cover your butts if you get caught breaking the law. I am assuming that number doesn't include the amount paid to Newsom either.

If this is just another reason to raise taxes and then "hire" DESC to manage it like King County did their empty jail then NO. How is that giant empty DESC building going next to the post office?

Burien exists because we are NOT Seattle. Manipulating zoning and changing the ordinances without voter approval will only break down our community. Unlike the techies that can afford to be taken advantage of, the citizens of Burien work hard for what little they have, a council that actively works to take that away is destroying our city.

When the sheriff is paid by the county to ignore crime reports, the "statistics" will show a decline. Shots fired being recorded as fireworks, trespassing ordinances being abolished without voter approval by the city council, and the county executive refusing law enforcement will falsely drive statistics down. This state hasn't been this MAGA since the 80s.

Burien must stop contracting with county sheriffs for policing. Many felonious activities have been shielded from law enforcement agencies by a sheriff's department controlled by an executive hell bent on destroying our state. Once Burien grows up and organizes its own police force the state sanctioned auto theft, prostitution, international drug ring, and child trafficking groups can be dealt with. The homeless in Burien get nearly nothing in aid and yet "nuisance" home owners receive millions in aid as if they were the intended recipients.

The homeless crisis was horrible until the county invented the housing authority. As if it could actually get worse, it has tripled in severity since the authority was invented to syphon away proceeds from both homelessness taxes and general fund budgets. Last year saw record breaking budgets of tax funds while having an all time high homelessness rate in King County. Dow is taking billions of dollars and the cities bordering Seattle are paying the price. Please, for God's sake, watch for recalls of these criminals. There have been a few over the last five years that have failed because of "lack of interest" by the voters. These are NOT " woke, left, blue, progressive, moral" politicians. They are criminals that took the billions Wa budgeted to help the needy and stole every last penny. We have, in the past, done better. And working together can get back to that success.

My pollinator attracting plants have all been killed or stolen by the druggies that the council categorize as homeless. Maybe the hummingbirds will return when I replace the thirty year old trumpet vine that a decade long drug addict in my neighborhood tore up in a meth fit in my front yard. Of the three of us the voter, the hummingbird and the addict (homeless) who is more important to keep the system working? Remove the voter and the other two have no body to support them. So which of the three do the council support?

Why do we spend an entire month "celebrating" peoples' sexual inclinations? What consenting adults do behind closed doors is their business. Not mine. Not government's. And theres no reason to have parades over it.

No thank you Cydney. We got this!!! Appropriate a different group that hasn't literally been murdered for their cause. We do not need reparations nor special privileges we only need equality and we can not get that with you in our ranks.

Whenever this group of criminals proposes any budget or city plan, they instead say they will spend the money on homelessness and it disappears. Once they got charged for illegally attempting to give the previous mayor a rase so he resigned. Sofia was one of those that illegally voted for the raise. When she didn't get investigated by the DOJ she realised just how much she could get away with. She is now running for a seat on the King County Council. Beware King County.

More woke idiots. Easy to fix the homelessness problem. Democrats don't want it fixed. They just keep us pitted against each other so we will police ourselves in their cultists manor. Dow Constanine is part of their agenda as well. New mental health facility in KC is to correct people who don't follow their agenda and euthanasia program, not to help the mentally ill. On behalf of all citizens of Burien, I apologize that the presentation became a canned race/homelessness address. We all celebrate your three decades of service to our city, which you performed regardless of all the adjectives assigned to you by the council. I wish you a long happy retirement. You deserve it.

Heres to hoping those that made Burien attend these events. Never forget.

If I had a business along Ambaum I'd be very upset. You are about to lose most of your foot traffic which means lost business. This poor decision that Burien made is going to force people to find alternate routes and avoid this mess. It will also make speeding through residential neighborhoods the norm. Electing people like Krystal Marx created this type of woke decisions.

To recent implants to the area. It might be interesting for you to know that the mayor and council were volunteers for many years. They were reimbursed for expenses but took no salary. They now take home three times what I make a year. The mayor (manager) actually takes home four times what I make. And no it was never brought up for vote.

I am surprised to not see any Tagalog speakers representing this group. We are fortunate to have these six, maybe someone will step forward from that community. Otherwise these three become the represented and the actual underrepresented become more so.

At every juncture this program has been voted against. By taking taxes for a project that the voters do not want and then paying DESC to manage it. Which we already know they have a history of not being able to do that. Burien is embezzling taxes. This year they are raising more money to gift to other projects that are not approved by the voters.

Let's go an appropriate the term Latino and change the o for a x under the false pretext that we need an English neutral term, even when Latin and Latin American is already gender neutral." The term Latinx is so ridiculous that even its own definition recognizes Latin American is the proper English term and indicates that was created to substitute Spanish language terms, from Oxford Languages: "a person of LATIN AMERICAN origin or descent (used as a gender-neutral or nonbinary ALTERNATIVE TO Latino or Latina)." I believe that extreme Leftists/Wokes came out from a Monty Python script: Nothing could be more silly that a group of White Liberals trying to figure out what Spanish terms use during an English conversation, instead of using Google Translate and get the translation of those words.
