    very well done! it's kinda stupid that the fuses were soldered right onto the board in the first place. Fuses exist to be the failure point when something goes wrong, they should be easy to replace!

  • @surgingcircuits6955
    @surgingcircuits6955 Місяць тому

    So the question is, should that much current be present? Are the fuses doing their job and protection other components because there's a problem?

    • @prettymuchflawless-cn1ms
      @prettymuchflawless-cn1ms Місяць тому

      That's a good point. The arm was probably just overloaded by external factors such as payload or speed of movement. But now we can change the fuses faster if there is a another internal problem. Thanks for Watching!

  • @PianoBoy99
    @PianoBoy99 2 місяці тому

    I'd go with the foam. From a time/investment point of view it is a lot faster. Gridfinity might be nice if you have to stack, or have a lot of small parts that you want to store. Might want to use a slightly thicker foam and slightly denser, but what you have is a really good use if you have the material laying around. Wish my workspace looked like yours 🙂

    Great - Question: can you now use the pins where the quartz is connected as GPIO? If so, how are these referred to in the program?

    • @prettymuchflawless-cn1ms
      @prettymuchflawless-cn1ms 5 місяців тому

      Not as far as I know. here is what the datasheet say about these pins: • XTAL2/TOSC2/PCINT7 - Port B, Bit 7 XTAL2: Chip clock oscillator pin 2. Used as clock pin for crystal oscillator or low-frequency crystal oscillator. When used as a clock pin, the pin can not be used as an I/O pin. TOSC2: Timer oscillator pin 2. Used only if internal calibrated RC oscillator is selected as chip clock source, and the asynchronous timer is enabled by the correct setting in ASSR. When the AS2 bit in ASSR is set (one) and the EXCLK bit is cleared (zero) to enable asynchronous clocking of Timer/Counter2 using the crystal oscillator, pin PB7 is disconnected from the port, and becomes the inverting output of the oscillator amplifier. In this mode, a crystal oscillator is connected to this pin, and the pin cannot be used as an I/O pin. PCINT7: Pin change interrupt source 7. The PB7 pin can serve as an external interrupt source. If PB7 is used as a clock pin, DDB7, PORTB7 and PINB7 will all read 0. • XTAL1/TOSC1/PCINT6 - Port B, Bit 6 XTAL1: Chip clock oscillator pin 1. Used for all chip clock sources except internal calibrated RC oscillator. When used as a clock pin, the pin can not be used as an I/O pin. TOSC1: Timer oscillator pin 1. Used only if internal calibrated RC oscillator is selected as chip clock source, and the asynchronous timer is enabled by the correct setting in ASSR. When the AS2 bit in ASSR is set (one) to enable asynchronous clocking of Timer/Counter2, pin PB6 is disconnected from the port, and becomes the input of the inverting oscillator amplifier. In this mode, a crystal oscillator is connected to this pin, and the pin can not be used as an I/O pin. PCINT6: Pin change interrupt source 6. The PB6 pin can serve as an external interrupt source. If PB6 is used as a clock pin, DDB6, PORTB6 and PINB6 will all read 0. Here is a link to the datasheet: ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/Atmel-7810-Automotive-Microcontrollers-ATmega328P_Datasheet.pdf page 65 is where you can find this info Thanks for watching!

    If your scope has a test point, you can actually connect it to your board as a source... and then the test point will show a flat line if unconnected to the test point, or the generated square wave of the test. You'll need an additional alligator clip to test it, but works beautifully.

Some unions offer free trade programs that offer you a journeyman trade such as HVAC and electric. Your YT channel is awesome, the union will take that to the next step.

    A great watch. Alone that someone other does the cleaning and we can watch and relax, hehehe (and that this isn't a woman, like in the real world, as usual:P). Thank you for the video and sharing your thoughts, Pmf!:) Now to the usual UA-cam-splaining (which of course has to be done, hehehe. Oh and no critique, just some thoughts): A cheap vacuum-cleaner (but with a good filter for metal and other dust, that saves the air-aggregate and motor from destruction) will guarantee that chips and more important: any scraping or abrasive dust is removed from the ways. So that there isn't even a chance to scratch something when wiping the surfaces. Apropos wiping: The only method/technique that can clean something reliably is RINSING with a solvent. Wiping can only clean so much as the solvent is able to dissolve and the wiper can absorb AND hold. These parameters and the amount of wipes determine the cleaning of the surface in the best case. This is a inverted exponential function, meaning you can never clean something to 100%. Of course in case of the ways of a machine tool this is more than enough. I hope with my little explanation of the theory of cleaning things up I have overcomplicated everything ... hehehe. Have a good one!:)
