he was rushed, needed one year before NHL.. see how quick and fluid he was, that got erased and his development stalled a little. i do think he has more growth in him, to become a true complete defenseman, like hedman.

Great footage of a great player, but the music is absolutely horrible, way too loud, and completely unnecessary. I'd rather listen to the commentators, personally.

I always thought Elias reminded me of another #40, Zetterberg, but to combine the EuroTwins??? Awesome work!! Datsyuk my fave player ever, Elias is my favorite today!

A lot of people here seem to forget the reason Datsyuk looks so good is because no one else could do what he did but now that pretty much every young player has grown up watching with his and Crosbys highlights there all able to do similar stuff put Datsuyk in todays NHL or Pettersson back in Datsuyks and you will see how comparable they are Datsuyk was ahead of his time but players are catching up.

Let’s be fair here.. I’m Swedish and love his offensive skills, but.. You can’t keep blaming all the goals against Sharks on everyone but Karlsson. He has -26 this season. -26!!!!!!! He has only had 4 + seasons out of 17!!!! Lidstrom had 20 + seasons out of 21. The minus season was something like -2 or something. Karlsson is -103 in his career. Lidstrom was +450 and he still racked up 50, 60, 70 points each season. Karlsson is a mediocre defenseman and a really good forward playing in the wrong position. How can Karlsson be a three time Norris? Like I said, I am Swedish and offensively he is the best defenseman since many many years, but -26 means that he collectively has done more harm than good. I think that there should be more than one prize for defensemen. 1. Norris for a totality of points, impact, team achievements, and +-. 2. Best offensive forward 3. Best defensive forward 4. Best +- Do you agree? Also.. Bobby Orr is the best defenseman ever. He had 915 points and + 582 in just 657 games. Lidstrom had 1142 points and + 450 in 1564 games. Big difference. Orr is the defensive King. Offensively I have to say Forsberg over Gretzky, Lemieux, McDavid, Crosby and Howie. Forsberg dominated all parts of the game on both sides of the rink. He was a complete hockey warrior with superior technique, passing skills only matched by Gretzky, physicality like few others, some of the best defensive skills ever by a forward, great skating, nasty tackles, perhaps the best player ever to defend the puck in the corners, just like Gretzky he held on to the puck and mesmerized opponents until a teammate was clear.. What couldn’t he do.. I’m every interview he always said that he was shit, that he should have been better, that nothing worked - and still he had just had another multiple point game. I’ve never seen anybody in any sport so self critical as him. He was convinced to do a tv competition on Swedish tv against all kinds of Swedish gold olympians. His attitude was that he’d probably be the first to be eliminated. He barely worked out before the competition, but he won on his iron will. The name of the show was called Mästarnas Mästare (Champion of Champions). I think that he was as strong minded as MJ. They just refused to loose. He humbly said in one interview that “I don’t want to be loosing. The others can do that.” He didn’t mean that in a cocky way. He merely showed a glimpse of that his winning mentality is based on his disgust of loosing. He can’t stand being a looser. So with all his skills and his mentality, he has to be a contender for being the GOAT. 2 SC, 2 WC, 2 OG and still holds the JWC points record. Nobody has ever been so complete in all aspects of the game - offensively and defensively. Sure, Lemieux, Gretzky and McDavid are slightly more offensive, but McDavid mainly relies on his speed - not so much on hockey IQ, strategy, amazing passes or so. Would a young Forsberg come into the league today, he too would average well over 120 each season. Gretzky was amazing and is a GOAT, but he wasn’t amazing defensively and wouldn’t have the same time to work his magic in todays game. Lemieux would probably do much better. But he wasn’t brilliant defensively, and let’s face it - both Gretzky and Lemieux were used to their iconic status already coming into the nhl. They didn’t think that it was their job to battle defensively in the corners, or block any shots. Even though they are more dangerous offensively I would hold Sakic as the best Canadian player of all time - probably one of, or maybe the smartest player and captain ever. If I could clone Forsberg 5 times and match up against 5 of Gretzky, or Lemieux, or Crosby(he is the Forsberg Jr in a sense for me) - I think that Forsberg would have a field day with all of them. The only players that might win against 5 x Forsberg would maybe be Hatcher, McSorley, Tie Domi or Lindross.. (if they smashed the Forsberg’s) Anyway. Hope you enjoyed my little rant. 😂✌️
