Such a great review, I'm glad to see that Vestax is still being praised for their outstanding turntables!

You forgot to include the range of Turntables Vestax had to offer in the 90s. There was the PDT 5000 from 1994, PDX D3 from 1997, The PDX A1 & PDX A2 from 1998.

I bought a pair of those about 8 years ago paid £70 what a bargain! I also have a vestal o7 pro mixer but got that years back at full price and all still work perfectly!

just picked up some vestax and cannot believe how good they feel. growing up in the 2000's the turntablist scene was such a hive mind, everyone picked "the right gear" pieces just because they were told those were the best. I got 2 1200's and a TTM56 and felt bad because I wasn't insanely impressed.. when I tried a pdx and a PMC 07 pro I was blown away and switched

i have a pdx 2000 mk1. When i turn off the quartz lock the pitch goes slower and i have to move the ultra pitch so i can get the default pitch speed. What can cause this? any idea?

Sooo underrated by many! Best turntables for 4x4 music! Been used in the free party scene for years! Remember lugging my 1st pair around to many outdoor raves we put on.. Unfortunately the old bill ended up taking that pair! Around 2006 🤦🏻‍♂️ Found another pair in 2022 years & years later when I started vinyl pressing for a living.. Never looked back and reminded me why I loved them sooo much.. So much torque they nearly rip out of your hand lol when I hear a technics head put these decks down I just raise my eyes and think u haven’t got a clue! Technics built better we all know that & if your mixing jungle etc technics mk2 are probs the best for you but as I say 4x4 u can’t beat the vestax!! 24 years old now and mine are still performing like they did when they came out of the factory 😁 They even hold better than my pioneer rx3 controller! Hate it when people judge these when they have never even mixed on a pair! & as for the movement on the platter.. You don’t even notice it I never have until I watched this video! So can’t be that bad lol 😂

Great video mate! I have an issue with the RCA connections right now after me having slapped on a case and one of my rca cables suddenly snapped, leaving some remnants on the unit itself. I cannot play timecode vinyl now as the pdx just plays in mono mode as half of the stereo rca is busted. My question is, how do I replace the rca (not the cables) output slot? Can I get a regular rca off the marketplace or any local electronics shop (I live in the Philippines)? Or I was thinking, once I get rid of those remnants in the rca slot, is it good to go again? I'm planning to open up the pdx so I can see a clearer picture of what's going on. Thanks a lot!

I'm only getting about 7 volts at the target lamp??? Is there anywhere else to pull 12 volts from??

Some hardcore vestax fan boys here..... every turntable was a distant second play to the 1200 mk2... industry leader for a reason...

Not being funny, but wouldn't it have been easier to just use a "normal" led strip? Im sure the results would have been better as you have multiple colours as well as a remote

Hello man,..just a tip. :D .Take the platter off (just 2 screws), because you can damage the sensor and or the slotted wheel of the motor (you can scrape it). Its too much weight to apply to the motor and rotating it with these weight is too much. Just put a pillow underside the spindle and dont move the turntable sideways. The way you do it, maybe it will not break the motor, but better going to the safe way. :D

I also had the 1200s but for some strange reason, the platter slows down every once in a while. good thing a friend swapped his pdx to me and I have never been more than happy when I first used them 13 years ago. I kept my tables and got rid of the digital stuff like the Pioneer CDJ'S. The only turntable that comes close to the PDX is the Numark TTX in terms of torque.

I also have 2 Vestex PDX bought new in 2001 also and a Rane mixer, Boss 303 sampler. Still rocken Shure White label stylus and Pickering's too. Cheers. Vinyl addict.

Nice. This will go well with my home made UV LED's tracklight 6x 3mm UV LED's with a 460 ohm resistor on a bare phono plug then cover with hot glue. I might have to do this mod before i sell them. Bet vestax are gutted they didn't think of this. could be cool to have a switch, if i was keeping them i might have to go with a bluetooth controlled colour changing system.

Owning both technics 1200 and pdx 2000 I always preferred and cherished my pdx 2000 turntables. Simply the best!

Swear by these technics are more sturdy but not a patch on these to mix on had 2 pairs sold in past 2 year ago 400 a deck regretted it and managed to get some mk 1s pristine il never part with them they'd need to be prised from my dieing arms

I'm looking into these I really want a set but I don't want to miss out on the special anti skipping tonearm. What you showed appears to be it, you can be quite heavy handed freely. But some sites are saying it's the mark two that starts with the anti skipping tone arm. So a 2000 mki is that sought-after vestax scratching experience? BTW if this is the Arkive who posts beats in the table beats app you're awesome!

Arkive, could you do a video about troubleshooting tables that keep blowing fuses? I have a 100v 3000 MK2 and each time I give it a new F1A 250v fuse, it turns on then immediately off. I then check the fuse and test it as dead with a multimeter. I would really appreciate some help here!

Recently picked up a pmc 05 cheap but the line faders were crackling, being a bit of a noob at sorting fader issues was running out of ideas after using air and contact cleaner to no effect, followed these instructions and worked a treat, stoked! Thanks for sharing this.

Could you do a diy target light tutorial, or explain to me what parts are needed to diy it myself, I’m guessing it would be similar to this, but connecting a led to a rca male connector

Does the PDX have digital pitch fader or analogue?

And a little tip for people trying this.. you can use a old RCA phono male plug to test your lights before fitting, strip wires on the plug and connect your positive and negative from lights, plug in and test your lights.

Thanks for your build guide! I did similar today, but I used flexi strip lights in blue as I had some spare laying around. Followed the same steps to connect to the target light, but resistors weren’t needed, so even easier. Thank you for your video! It was a massive help!
