I had a Cheerleader Maxie doll and the Cool Locker when I was 9 or 10 years old in the early ‘90s which is perfect for my dollhouse my dad built.
I don’t really remember these…….. but I can see why….. smh.
The prettiest doll I was ever gifted! I lo💜ed my Shani doll! 👸🏿👸🏾👸🏽
That black Ken with the shades looked gay as the hills!😂
A video suggestion: The history of Winx Club dolls 💟
I was always an on and off doll collector after age 14. In 2001 I was 18 years old. I most definitely purchased the Mari doll. As a matter of fact I just purchased her again! I’m almost 42 now lol! This line was so ahead of its time!!! ❤
🤗♥️🤗♥️🤗
Kennedy and Barbie are literally the same character. Mattel can make it canon that they’re not all they want, but truthfully, they just renamed Barbie to Kennedy, end of story lmao
I love the story of Kennedy entering their friendship group so cute, too good to be true 😂❤
Fun Fact: Madison was inspired by a friend from Lily Martinez the creator of My Scene which is so cute. Also what’s your top 10 favorite my scene dolls and top 10 lines that would be a fun video and then maybe a top 10 video series of all the My Scene girlies dolls separately like a top 10 of Barbie dolls, a top 10 of Madison dolls, and a top 10 of Chelsea dolls and others like Nolee, Delancey, and Kenzie I would love your opinion on the design and gives you more My Scene content since you covered all the history already but I wished we had more dolls of Jai from Jammin’ in Jamaica the darkest skinned My Scene character at least Bratz Felecia had 2 releases in the original run she deserved better
I love this song!
Please send the link to this background music !!!
To be honest, i like them (Barbie) but at the same time, i feel like they are very… basic playline dolls, some elements are too poorly made like Maddison’s butterfly top, or Barbie’s necklace without chromatic effect, plus it seems unfair that for that price, they don’t have a second outfit or a pet or extra accessories, my scene dolls where iconic for this elements and well… Mattel’s standards nowadays are… so much low in comparison to basic playline standards back then
I had mixed feelings towards the Collector dolls when they first leaked but I’ve slowly grown to really love them, Javier Meabe did a great job with designing them! I do wish the faces were slightly better but I’m still glad Mattel brought them back. Hopefully we’ll see more Collector dolls in the future. I would love to see Collector versions of Nolee, Delancey and even Jai. Excellent video as always 🫶🫶🫶
I agree -- I was on the fence with these dolls, but they have some really cute pieces. Still feel like Madison needed a jacket for consistency's sake!
@@HaveYouHeardDolls She definitely needed a jacket, and they also could’ve removed the mesh white top as well. She’s cute but has my least favorite design, unfortunately…
nice video! thanks for sharing!
I absolutely needed this comeback ❤ but I'm still not loving the faces with water down makeup 😕 I hope they elevated this detail. But nonetheless, I want them all ❤
I wish they had the original My Scene logo! I also wish they were not released as Barbie Collector dolls, the original My Scene dolls were not released with the Barbie logo!
Hasbro had an another doll brand to stop to Mattel. This doll was called Sindy and they had so many commercials, but I think this brand is discountenied, because copyright reasons. This doll brand commercials also aired in Hungary, but I think commercials was unsucessful in there too.
this is amazing!!! OMG thank you for the shoutout!!! wow! you are one of my favorite UA-cam channels!!!!! thank you!!!
@@dolls2remember I love your videos too!! The level of detail and set up is so amazing. Keep up the amazing videos! 💕
$40?!
And €60 (Amazon) that's way worse.. I won't buy them
YAAYYY I love these videos, so happy to see one again
I think that, the collector dolls should’ve had elevated versions, of both original outfits to better match the $40 price point, because as is they feel like the Bratz Kylie Jenner dolls, where you don’t feel like you get enough for your money, it’s really become a bad habit of Mattel and MGA, to have dolls with one outfit and maybe one or two accessories, and price them very highly due to being a collector doll, which is quite upsetting, because it feels like they care more about money than they do about giving their fans quality that matches the asking price.
I agree -- just a few years ago, you would be able to get the 2002 originals with both outfits somewhere around this $40 pricepoint secondhand. Now, these new My Scene dolls are already getting discounted for $5 at Target. How much inflation can collectors take until it's not worth it anymore?
It is very exciting to see my scene comeback when we though Mattel had buried them. But sadly I don’t think Javier understood the first my scene style, the dolls look like they are costuming in today’s vision of Y2K when My scene style was not that at all they had a very urban New York vibe, earth colors, lots of layering, flared low waist pants, a few revealing clothes, and because of that underwhelming execution I believe they didn’t have the grand comeback we the collectors wanted
Love this My Scene continuation vid! As a My Scene fan since their debut, I'm really happy to see them return & hope we'll see more releases in the future, but I guess it depends on how well this release does. I bought all 3 dolls in support, & think they are very cute and much better in person! I do think it was a missed opportunity that this release didn't feel more deluxe (a second outfit would've been great) and there wasn't a more elaborate rollout or promotion of this collection, especially considering how iconic MS is + the recent 20th anniversary. I do think with the way these dolls were executed, they should have been a play-line release, as the originals from 2002, look and feel more collector level in comparison, even down to the packaging IMO. I feel like the 2024 dolls are what standard play-line Barbie should be today across the board, but unfortunately, these kind of trimmings, textile combos and details are no longer the standard for Barbie, and are usually labelled as collector with a price point to match. The Barbie I grew up with...the play-line details could rival the collector dolls, but those days are sadly gone. It will be interesting to see if the brand continues, as I do believe this is a test to see how they are received, and if successful, could lead to new MS play-line. I am happy you mentioned the upcoming Aaliyah Barbie, which will be released on her Birthday Jan 16th, but early access via Mattel Creations on the 15th. As a huge Aaliyah fan, I was honoured to have creative involvement on this doll, working closely alongside Aaliyah's Brother Rashad and helping him make creative decisions. I am so proud, and can't wait for everyone to get her! 😍
A lot of us truly admire the art you do and love the ideas you have from your drawings. I do hope Mattel collaborates with you again for a my scene collection, we all know you would create something amazing! I do love these collector dolls and I hope this is the beginning of their revival with more releases.
I was looking forward to the Aaliyah doll and now I'm even more eager knowing that you were part of the design process, Hayden. I hope to see you design more Barbie Signature releases 🙏 I totally agree that the marketing for these dolls was such a missed opportunity! They could have made new webisodes in the original art style or had a minisite with blogs/games. A lower pricepoint would have also helped too!
If Mattel truly wanted to bring MyScene back I'd be all here for it.But from what I'm seeing Mattel is treating MyScene as a competition to Bratz...again.The collector dolls were cute but for a 40$ price point were quite underwhelming. I wish Mattel would expand the brand and use the sultry screenings back.
And they’re back; great video!
I hope they’ll be available in Europe, after all the brand stayed here for longer than in the US (if I’m not mistaken they lasted into the whooping 2011). Though I personally am not huge on Y2K fashion, which might seem weird since it was my childhood - I just personally don’t recall that time to well so I have no nostalgia for the fashion movement, for me it doesn’t look that great. But I loved MyScene.
Sigh this is a real comeup story but sometimes it gets overlooked because of the proximity to bratz. Thanks for making this video
Yay you returned!
I'm barking! This video series was and still is my favourite and I literally clicked as soon as I've seen this. I love this videos Truly my fave UA-cam channel
Thank you so much!!
Yeah I'm hoping we'll see Nolee and the boys too
The dolls themselves are beautiful ❤❤❤ Even though they don't have the 2-outfit minimum thing, but they make up for it by combining two outfits in one.
🤗🔥🎈♥️😍🤗♥️🧜🏻♀️🔥
🤗♥️🎈🧜🏻♀️😞♥️😍🤗
We’re READY!!!
YESSSS!!!! ❤💛💙
Welcome back!!!
@@CodenameSailorEarth i have the original My Scene dolls ❤and they're way better than the new ones. Plus they were less expensive than the ones of today. And they had an extra outfit coming with them.
Yessss so excited for this!
🤗♥️🎈🧜🏻♀️🔥🎈😍
we're getting an unexpected part 5?!
I can’t wait ❤❤❤
Black dolls dont sell well? What?? Omg and dont get me started on Felicia! The darkest bratz doll! I have her repro and she is little lighter than the original 2005 verison 🤦🏻♀️ but im glad i have her in my collection. Sasha, Yasmin and Felicia are my favorites! 💗✨
I'm so glad your here doing this video. You are a beautiful person.
I’ve had the memory of this in my head, it’s been popping up but I could never remember what it was, I just remembered the “oops I did it again” 😂 finally figured it out
I feel like Hasbro did learn their lesson with Jem. Maxie managed to be on store shelves a year before Jazzie could compete. How Mattel didn’t know, who knows. 😂 Mattel might have been distracted with the 1988 Jem and 1988 UK Sindy lines. But even Maxie’s World aired the same month as Barbie and the Rocker: Out of this World dropped. Rumor has it, that was supposed to be full Rockers series, but Mattel canceled the series because they knew DIC Animation City was making a series for Hasbro. I think the Sindy license played out okay, the bad thing is Mattel started suing because they felt Hasbro was making Sindy look to much like Barbie, after Maxie ended. Hasbro canceled the New Kids as the next patch of dolls and fashion were being developed. There was few bad headlines and trashed hotel rooms was a little too much for Hasbro at the time.
Watched the video for a second time. It’s such a great video, very informative and well-made. The 1988 Rob head was supposed to be the 1987 Rio head, my guess is the head was a little to small so the didn’t use it. Perfect Prom Maxie shouldn’t have been the only scented doll for 1988, there was to be a scented Hollywood Jem doll too - wearing that pink dress from the end of the episode. If only Hasbro had a little more faith in the 1988 Jem line. Besides the Rockers and Jazzie, Mattel’s Spectra was made to compete with Tonka’s Aurora around the same time. One of the Hasbro employees told me there was a Jem doll box at an Asian tradeshow. The Hasbro salesman threw it away after the show and then the Mattel salesman climbed through the trash and dug it out and send it to California. Supposedly that’s how they knew what ethnicities to make the Rockers, and why Mattel made Rocker’s fashions bight colors because the neon illustrations on the boxes are bight. And Mattel was surprised by the release of the release of the Misfits, because they are not pictured on the Jem box. She told me that her friend who worked at Mattel told her that. But there’s no way to ever find out if that really happened or if it was just a phone call.
I didn’t have my audio on when I started playing the short so seeing the dolls moving in black and white with silence really feels like a cursed video that your not supposed to see
I still prefer the bend and snap knees, especially for the dolls meant for adult collectors who display their dolls. I also wish they'd make more vintage reproductions.
I love this video, I bet the next is What's Her Face line.
i love your videos so much and i really hope you never stop posting
