Carry some old quilts in your tool box throw them under your drive but remember when you are bogged your bogged don't spin the wheels stop get out get a shovel and a tow chain i would spend days digging out road trains as a young man it sucks getting stuck i know a lot of tricks that will make it easier stick with it it part of the job

Single drive you will get bogged so easy

Took me back when i was a little fella with mum in the old Mack r600 respect you will have a good driver sitting beside you he's learning on the job respect to you

Hi from Australia i always keep some heavy quilts in my toolbox for muddy sights place them under your drive axles the moment you spin diff locks in and it will climb out better than asking for a tow give it a try if you get stuck on a muddy site your doing a good job stay safe

Hi from Australia hook hifter are a good gig i have steered a couple in Australia i have to ask what is with the spazzy axle at the rear hey kid never walk behind the tail gate ever when you crack the latch even if it takes you two minutes to walk around please don't ever do it again we dismissed anyone that does it no second warning stay safe

You're a star for helping your fellow driver. However, I sort of disagree. I think you should have talked him through it instead of doing it for him -- he would have learnt far more. When you're learning to drive HGV's your teacher doesn't do it for you, he/she teaches you & you do it & learn from your mistakes. Like I said, you're a legend & deserve loads of kudos for helping your colleague, I just disagree with your method 👍👍👍

Thanks for this video. It gave me a lot of insight into this type of vehicle. Great footage as well not like many youtubers' videos where sometimes you barely see the actual loading and unloading, etc. and it's more about the driver than the actual work.

I had my first RORO training yesterday with my local council. Usually I drive the bin refuse Dennis lorries and now I’m being trained up on the RORO. I have worked for a local skip company before I joined the council. I found it hard to get used to the RORO controls which operate the arm etc etc but it will come in time I guess. The driver who was teaching me said my driving is spot on and I’ll be ok with the controls, he’s going to get the council to put me through my class 1. Can I ask a question, do you run out of scope ?? I didn’t yesterday , but usually do driving the bin truck, hopefully I’ll be ok to drive out of scope this week as I’m back in the bin lorry but if I’d been on the RORO at the beginning of the week and didn’t use out of scope I guess I’d have had to carry on driving the bin lorry in scope which would mean I’d have to drive under the EU rules

I tell you what, you are a good videographer and a good lorry driver, I love the quality of the footage and I love the camera angles and placements of the camera, and as far as the driving goes, there were plenty blindside reverses there and they were all done beautifully, at one point at 13:25 it looked like you were coming in too tight but you had it all under control.

Told you that it was F****** tight on that site now ha ha 😊

Hi Chloe, thank you for showing the levers on the RORO, the 69 plate has all the hook load controls on what looks like a gear stick with the auto gear seletor on the dashboard, not had a chance to drive it yet but I have been told that hookloader training is my next step😊 some of the doors on the bins are going to be challenging as even the lads need to use a fork to close them😳 have a good week out and about
