@@baljeetsingh9675 bmw eventually released an update that seemed to have fixed it. Although not explicitly expressed that was the reason for it.

@@sergheipostica3875 bmw released an update in may 2023. That update fixed any issues I had. I no longer have this issue. I would check the Bimmerpost and see if anyone had experienced that in the 2023 x5.

@@celticsking20 I think they all do that. Could be wrong. Does it have the shadow line package? I think this package adds the full adaptive lights which allow to move.

@@Upstate330 yes I have the shadow line. Just no headlight animation when starting

@@Upstate330 I have the adaptive package with the shadow line. However my manual only states “cornering light” under adaptive

@@celticsking20 that’s odd. I’ve never seen that before. Because every bmw I’ve had has had the light animation

@@alltechthings9506 it does. Right before you choose start guidance you can choose your route or see route options

The issue is with both Apple carplay and Google maps. However, BMW navigation would work perfectly fine.

@@towertone from what I noticed it was a bmw thing. As google maps worked fine in other cars for me

OK Keep in mind this happened to me in two (or three?) different location between Alabama, Minnesota and Texas. In a Ford Raptor (I also have a Dodge Challenger and BMW 230i). With Google Maps at first BUT ALSO with Apple Maps when I swapped over to it, which is why I still think it was a satellite coordination issue either with that area (happened in Alabama days apart as a I passed through it going to and returning from Florida) or cellular GPS sync which is also possible. Anyhow, good luck with it.

As of now only Apple Maps works in the instrument cluster. It’s also odd, when using Google maps the system maps will display on the instrument cluster other times it says “guidance is being used via Apple CarPlay”. So there is some inconsistencies.

It’s been super reliable. No issues at all. This is my 3rd bmw and never had issues. And I’ve had 5 series and x5. The 3 series is one of the more reliable BMW’s. The ones with the v8s those are iffy. Honestly that’s a pretty good deal for 25k. When new it was probably like 47-50k

@@Upstate330 I heard from the video that you used to have some lexuses as well? Is the car just as reliable? How many miles do you have on it so far

@@ajf5745 yes just as reliable! I had a 2015 Lexus RX flawless no issues 2016 RX f sport this one had. Bad rear strut fixed under warranty. On my 330 I have 8300 so far. The Apple CarPlay issue i had is also gone. I’m guessing after some software updates.

@@Upstate330 That's great to hear. I have been considering this car and if it's actually reliable then it's a great deal. I mean if the b48 is good enough to be used in the supra it's a good engine.

Yup! I87! I was originally looking at an m340i before this car. Ultimately I like the exterior of this LCI more than the previous version. But if performance is what you are looking for.. I say go for the used m340i. The way interest rates are now buying new 330i would cost more for less power. The m340i would be a lot of fun!

If you want the power I’d go with the m340i. In my opinion the LCI looks better and the only drawback is the climate control usage while driving is slightly questionable. Thats about it. The 330i is fun and has decent power but nothing beats a m340i in performance

Dang! Hopefully they do something about it one day. To allow all maps.

Looks great and cleans easy. In a year no visible wear at all A lot softer too than some other bmw leathers. I’ve had Dakota leather in a 530i and that was hard as rocks. This is better.

I do agree. Enough to satisfy but not over the top.

@Upstate330 that's what I'm thinking. I have an 19' Infiniti. I'd like to swap to BMW or MB. But I still owe. I'm looking and seeing which one I'd like. I was going for MB before I got my Q50 but MB kept trying to sell me a car that did not have what I was looking for 🙄

@Upstate330 question. Does BMW have a feature when you turn the car off, does The drivers seat moves back, so it's easier to get out, then when you get back in and start the car ot moves forward. I like that feature a lot.

@@miketorre16 to answer your question. My 3 series doesn’t do that but I do think other bmw models do. I use to have that feature in my Lexus.

@@miketorre16 which MB? The c class? I do like the new c class on the outside. The seats look horrible compared to others I think but everything else is nice. That being said I might be biased as this is my 3rd bmw. But hate when dealers try to get you to buy something you aren’t totally happy with.

How do you get solution ?

Due to traffic regulations and chip shortages, icon adaptive laser lights are no longer an option in the US. +it isn't something most people option or use.

In conclusion pretty much any car

I updated iDrive to the latest version like 2 months ago I think. Since then never had this issue again.

So I just checked and my last software update was in March. I went to the idrive and it said it is up to date. I also went to the website with my VIN and it says up to date. Any thoughts?

@@nicholasmars2345 I just looked at mine and it’s 3/2023 as well. Hmm I would say do a hard restart on your phone and then try to connect it. Delete your phone off your car and re pair it. See if it helps. After that update I have not had this wandering issue. Granted I’ve had a few times where it would not connect to the phone but that was brief.

Thanks! Appreciate that! I love the sensatec seats very comfortable. I had Dakota leather on my previous 5 series and those sucked. Rock hard. Made long drives unbearable. Now these are very soft and have a lot of give.
