    This is called jamming even though some fault this. It's not a perfect production, but. Anything with Buddy and this group is worth a listen.

    This is one of the worst PSG shows every. The guitar player was over playing from start too finish . Buddy Emmons was the only one on stage with any class .

    Why do we all have to get old and die? It just isn't right to live in a particular time and not be able to enjoy it for years longer than we get to. Buddy was my biggest influence when I started learning to play steel back in 1979 and I got to stand next to him at a show in Fort Worth. It was one of the biggest thrills of my life to this day.

    I'm still puzzled. Why mask off the guitar logo? I mean really? We know what it is! We knew who it was.... We'll miss him forever ("The Master")....... Enough should be enough.

    Buddy still owns the pedal steel guitar benchmark , it is very doubtful if anyone will ever surpass him.

    Jeeeezzzz There was a lot of "overplaying" in this show and messing up ....... not from Buddy he had more taste than that.

    Could never get shows like this today. Ticket.....r scalper co-conspirators would screw it up and price the average fan out of the market.

    Live tuning by master with the play by ear. Not a dam..danged one of the "new country" spoiled boys could do that on stage today.

    @sandburgmartin7947 Рік тому

    Jazz archival folks should really give this Buddy Emmons and Boogie Sherrard some SERIOUS attention. You are missing a big connecting cross link. These guys are 'Boiler Plate' alternative jazzers. A good trumpet or sax player could float in and jam with this. More please. I'll bet Ms. Donna Sherrad-Williams may agree. She was great on Ode To Billie Joe.

    Take Me Out to the Ball Game. On the 7th inning stretch Harry Cary and Phil Rizzuto would say, "Holy Cow, that's a Home Run. He knocked it out of the park !".

    Tuneless

    • @WildPhotoShooter
      @WildPhotoShooter Рік тому

      Yeah, I agree , most of it was tuneless.... there was a lot of overplaying and missing notes , Buddy was the only one who was in control and kept it tasteful....but I still don't like the jazz on pedal steel .......it seems to be a quest to play as many notes as they can inside the tune.

    I was there but I remember the lineup being Shonna Derrard, Eddy Bummons, Shoogie Berrard, Pen Glillips, Tary Galbot, and good ol Scred Froggins. I was pretty drunk the whole time but it was a great show.

    Thanks so much for posting this great material. My opportunity to see Buddy was limited and this fills the gap nicely. Boogie was an excellent guitarist and yet played steel with a flatpick. Great stuff.
