PCIe SSD vs SD vs. USB SSD: Which Is Best On Raspberry Pi 5?
Переглядів 7923 місяці тому
I tested SD and NVMe SSD with external USB case and PCIe adapter on Raspberry Pi 5! Ubuntu 24.04 Noble Nombat was used, since I use Ubuntu almost everywhere. PCIe was clear winner. If you want to replicate results, you have to have tested medium unmounted, and create another small partition if you want to do write tests, otherwise you’ll overwrite the Ubuntu itself. Why not tie it on the stalk of a badminton racket?
@@reallife1496 try it
@martincerven Have you ever tried it? How's the result?
@@reallife1496 If “stalk” you mean shaft, then I don’t need to try it. You should try it! I think it just wouldn’t work.
A question from your old video I am going to buy a badminton shoe and my options are comfort z and eclipsion z My priorities are ankle protection but I have a really short height and I want to know that do the extra weight and stiffness on these shoes really slow you down as I love to play fast and if yes can 65 z3 perform much better or I can stick with these 2
You can comment on old videos all right…buy Eclipsion, the added weight is a non issue
@@martincerven ok thanks
Bro that's not a arduino that's a raspberry pi pico
That's called a "Joke" bro, but you can actually run Arduino code on pico: github.com/earlephilhower/arduino-pico
What kind of string that you used?
Rubber - textile one for sewing
What program does it use? Is it rviz? Please advise.

Thanks for sharing
@@jumeDIY Thanks for watching! Anything ROS related you’d like to see?
Nice...like whats the length size of the rubber rope ?
@@smileshiban3309 I think it depends on how stretchy it is, this one was like 1.5-2m, I have to try this sometimes again 😄
Thanks.. and warm regards from Maldives.. ur video has reached here.
Thanks, check out my other badminton videos too! Kodai training is super effective
Hello Martin, thank you for the review. A simple video showing how you implemented it in ROS using RVIZ would be great. I’m using ROS Noetic on Ubuntu 20.04 (I’ve been able to launch Gazebo with control of the turtlebot and iris model quadcopter). (I also have a Pi 4B with python dronekit, as another possible option). I’ll be mounting it on a quadcopter that I have running Ardupilot with a Cube Orange. It looks like your setup is different, but I’m sure I could follow along. Thanks again!
Why ?????????????

Hi! Did C1 runs after power-up or not? My C1 is stopped after power up. Previous Slamtec A1 was runnign on powerup. I'm couriius if this is standard behaviour.
I think motor running only when the node/program is communicating, is much better approach than running any time. The motor also has limited lifespan
@@martincerven I have trouble in ROS to stop_motor - it do not work for me. Do you have same expirience?
@@mackubecka What do you mean? After you stopped node the motor keeps running?
Brooooo!!!!?❤❤❤ It's insane 😮❤
Thanks! 🏸
Excellent video, you helped me decide and buy one of these again. In Latin America we cannot afford to buy something much more expensive.
Thanks! What will you use it for? Robotics?
@@martincerven yes robotics, slam for RC car and drone
Good luck! Will you use ROS?
@@martincerven I want to start with ros and it seems like a good option to use this lidar
Thank you very much, I’m looking forward to your video about a practical example of using it in a project with the necessary settings.

Thanks for the video. I got one after watching it. I am new to ROS. I would appreciate a video on how to set up the device using RVIZ in ROS2 Iron Irwin . I would like to use it in a autonomus robot 2WD with ORB SLAM3. using a Raspberry Pi 4GB and a Ubuntu virtual machine as a dev macine to control the robot using twist messeages and a joy node for joystick control. Any guidence would be appreciated.
I made this robot long time ago: ua-cam.com/users/shortsc6rpKZGmOfw It also has raspi, and I want to upgrade it to ROS, maybe you can follow along
@@martincerven thanks for sharing the link.
Thank You😀, I was thinking about buying it and this review helped a lot making a decision. Would you, please, do a video showing a concrete usage of lidar in some sort of IT project?
Sure!

I tried to get Steam running on Raspbian. I installed Steam and Box86 and Box64 using Pi-apps, but I kept running into the "steamwebhelper, a critical Steam component, is not responding. The Steam UI will not be usable" error. Did you get the same error and if so how did you bypass it?

It is
How did you managed to make Box86 work on Raspi 5? Everytime I try to install it, it simply failed. Care to share link to where you got the information from?
I will make a full setup video
Why is the SSD card used ? Can I just use a Micro SD card instead ?
You get 10-20x higher read/write speeds, useful for Robotics & AI
Can you try call of duty 4 ? at least the demo as I did in PI4 with box86wine but it was very slow I wonder how it' performing in PI5.
I’ll try
Can't the Strings get damage?
no
The Raspberry Pi 5 does not even have an HDMI cable plugged in
Are you blind? Hdmi is plugged into 1 port 🙄
This black cable next to power cord is the hdmi.
Can I use ubuntu 18 to install SDK manager? thanks
Yeah, but you can’t use arm64 device. And to use new Jetpack 6.0 you need at least 20.04 🫶🏻
In your MC badminton making video I have a question that from where we can borrow that the rubber sting
Thanks for watching, you can try sewing supplies or cloth shops.
I finally managed to run Steam on Raspberry Pi 5, but CS doesn't work. Do I need to install OpenGL or Vulkan, or are they pre-installed?
did you tried cs2?
Pls Make a Tutorial I don’t know how that Works

Thanks!
I am following the setps but when i connect my pc to orin nano with usb a to usb c cable, it doesn't show in ubuntu. the only reason i could guess is that cable not support data transport.
Could be, some cables are only for charging. Also disconnect the jumper after plugging the power. And update the app.

i actually like the way you guys analysis about kento momota's footwork like after that shot , what should we do and the arm movement . But i think you guys should restrict do these exercise like this because your skill and footwork need to improve more before do this exercise . For example : momota's coach was doing a flat lift for that exercise but you guys was doing high lift , if it was a high lift, the opposite can move fast to reach the shuttle , but the guys in this video move wasnt fast enough , that why i say you should focus on different things before doing these exercise . But I really like the way you analyze it . Thanks for reading
The guy in video is 10cm taller and 15kg heavier than Momota, so obviously he is slower. And yes although he is very good player, he is not super fast in this scenario, but that is why we try to train this. You have to start somewhere. Pick any player in your club/area and he/she would very much suck with this footwork. Even some pro players ( especially tall Europeans) don’t like these flat lifts. I didn’t find any video like this on YT that’s why I made it. So you should definitely start with high lifts and then play it flatter as you get better. And thanks for your comment!
what do you think of the max speed for writing and reading for this Jetson orin nano can get? You showed in the video that its read is around 2600 Mb/s, but SSD is capable of around 7450 reading and 6900 writing. Would it be OK if I buy an SSD card that has around 3000 Mb/s read/write speed and connect two cameras? I would love to learn more about this so eagerly.
I have another video about SSD speeds with Raspberry, the AGX Orin actually has PCIE 4, and Orin Nano only PCIE 3
He is a finished player. 😢
Momota? Sure but before his accident he had best technique, footwork and style of any player competing. Lot of players can learn much from him.
@@martincerven sure. But the horrific injury made him to struggle. I hope he recovers and proves everyone wrong.
Satisfaction 🥰
