I understand what you're going for here, but I'm not a huge fan of putting 95% of your firepower in only 2/5 of your ships.

Can you identify the types of ships by all of those methods? If yes , are some slower than others?
Very cool, this is similar to what I played with when the game came out, except without a separate PD ship as I am too lazy to manage so many ships. I enjoy the CLs, so will play around with this concept again.
These new OSP names really don't ring with me.
It's shocking that this game isn't more popular. It does have a steep learning curve and slow burn but still. You can get some decent skirmishes with ships from the workshop.
Any skinny on the carrier update?
It wont commence development and be released until after Conquest (next major update)

I kinda dislike the OPS getting ship class names they are supposed to be civilian ships pressed into military service so being called a shipping container or bulker made sense

In WW2 when the military “borrowed” civ boats they would throw armor plates on them and reclass them as a light attack boats
There are a bunch of ww1 and ww2 navy combat ships that was possessed uparmed and armoured merchantmen and passenger liners, that fitted into patrol and convoy escort roles. They got renamed and classifieds into cruisers, destroyers and minelayers. All by the weight of their armament.
I really hope the campaign varies the typical spherical asteroid cluster map.
From my understanding it will. Locations on the strategic map will translate into battle locations to vary locations. I havent seen it yet but I do agree fighting a conquest campaign on Pillars will get old quick.
@@JDeeGaming that sounds good. Rather like older total war games had you fight on terrain thst mirrored wherever you happened to fight on the campaign map.
I do like the new DC board, and the quick reference icons next to it The behavor buttons are also much cleaner, love it Really the only thing that bothers me is the new unit tab thing in the upper corner. Something about it just messes with my brain and I keep finding myself looking in the wrong places for information Probably just me being used to the old UI, but it's certainly going to take time getting used to
best change for me is the bow to enemy heading option!
Oh my God, tell me about it. When it comes to some of the capital ships, the ability to do this and perfectly bow tank toward the enemy will allow you to bring more of your weapons to bear. For instance, let’s assume you’re running 120 mm on the ax. Duty human error, manual heading will only allow you to bring two of your small Tourette to bear, but this will allow you to perfectly angle toward the target and get for Tourette’s blasting 120 at your target.
I love seeing the little QoL changes come through.
Definitely not a casual arcade style game. Deep strategy and serious minimaxing for play styles.

Conquest might be it by removing the 3000 point limit for MP balancing and allowing you to make different hulls for specific purposes, fully loading a hull with components and designing missiles more expensive then a few points.

Mmmm... someday I still want to get into this game. Tried it a while back but it was a bit too overwhelming. I'm hoping there's a good way to get my mind around all the multitasking and high level military concepts. Thanks for your videos. As a side note, one thing I thought of a long time ago that feels like a good change would be the ability to reorient what is considered "up" to be any point on the sphere. I think that would make maneuvering around certain tricky obstacles a lot easier. But I don't have enough experience in the game to know if that would be a bad idea.
To help ease in I'd recommend playing a starter fleet or TF Oak or Birch. Controlling 2 or 3 ships that work in close proximity eases the burden of decision making on the player.
@@michaelrobinson5796 Yeah for sure that helps. Though when I tried a 1v1 Oak vs Oak skirmish, I got creamed. It's a lot harder than you'd think. And I'm a RTS veteran. Definitely a whole new way of thinking.
No idea why someone else hasn’t told you yet, but that suggestion is already a feature in the game. If you go into settings, you can look for the exact key, but if you press the buttons, the game will literally flip upside down. You can do that. As for the other thing, try looking for more experienced players to help you out.
@@Recon777x best suggestion I can think of is to always present your bow toward the enemy. At the same time, remember that armor angling is a thing if you were firing HE, that can still bounce off the Oxford at angle areas, so perhaps you should’ve fired AP instead. also, always maneuvers so that you are invading and dodging the enemy. Finally, if you can use cover so that as many of your ships as possible, can fire on as few of the enemy ships as possible, you can defeat them in detail.
Just read the art of war, join the navy, and graduate West Point. You’ll still be a noob 😂 at least that’s how I feel playing this game

Nice overview video of the new bells & whistles. As for the redone OSPN ship names they are Ferryman (Shuttle), Draugr (Tugboat), Flathead (Monitor/Cargo Feeder), Marauder (Bulk Freighter) and the Moorline (Container Liner ). It'll take a while to shake the old names so don't be surprised if you hear people referring to them by their old designations.
While I really love the UI changes, I'm growing a bit annoyed at having to go back and make little tweaks to all my fleets because of the points cost changes. I fixed 3 of my osp fleets and then got annoyed and haven't gone back to play since. I might wait for the next big update or until someone makes another campaign mod.

@@magnusred2945 yeah, and I have over a dozen osp fleets and 8 ans fleets that I cycle through that all need to be updated. That's not even considering testing them in pvp and making new builds to experiment with since they buffed S2s and nerfed plaz and rapid cycle cradles and so on. It's hours of extra work on things that will just change again in 3 months.

@@Skenderbeuismyhero interesting to hear another perspective because to me, building the fleet and tweaking the ships is the most fun part of the game for me; I couldn't care less about winning in MP or beating the meta, I just care about having fun and trying to survive with what combo I come up with. Sometimes I just watch the AI vs AI (of my own designs) too.

Was really excited about this title, but it does not seem like much has changed in the past 2 years since release. At least this was released in some form, unlike falling frontier.
Devs have had 2 major updates (missiles and the OSP factions) and many smaller balance, quality of life and minor features. That said outside of Multiplayer or Skirmish no. Conquest mode is well under development now so I would say this year/early next year that would be released which would bring a lot more to the table in terms of singleplayer replayability and new features.
I think the intent is to kite the frig swarm. You can do a decent job flying in reverse and maintaining distance once you're in firing range.
I think so too. The first time I played this mission I lost at the last moment as I didnt have enough ships left to take down the heavy cruiser.
Really enjoy your Neb content, there really is a very limited amount of Nebulous UA-camrs/commentators. Do you plan on making more multiplayer vids in future ?

mmmmm, you may need to create a different channel for these non-sci-fi, non NFC related videos. And if you want to move away from NFC but keep the same channel, you may have better luck by playing other spaceship games (like playing homeworld 3 or something like that). Just my opinion.
Honestly a good opinion and something for me to think about. Frequency of uploads have slowed down and random diversification is probably not the best thing.

I take it you arent banned from the game itself just the discord? If so you can keep playing just without voice. Otherwise I believe there is a mod mail bot. Another account could submit an appeal on your behalf. I dont know what you did to get banned but they are usually pretty lenient and give warnings before full bans.

0:52 will be a good litmus test. Will the game be numbers under a hood, or experienced. IE will "covering fire" just mean "no overwatch triggers" or will it mean "Enemy sticks head out to take passing overwatch shot, but covering fire character burns off a quarter of a mag their direction, and they're forced back behind cover.
Dropping by to say that after an attempt at the game when it came out and giving up on it, I gave it another shot after your video. Lost my first conquest skirmish 1500 to 1450ish points. Won my second conquest skirmish by killing all the ships. Thanks so much. I am now enjoying this game :)

1:37 I just noticed something. Just before firing its missile the CLS launcher is venting a short orange flame. Maybe because of the missile’s Hot-Launch setting?

Not sure what the Axford's internals are but assuming it has a reinforced CIC and a 500 type drive nothing in your fleet would be able to break the DT on that. You're gonna have to kill everything else in the battlespace and then render the Axford combat ineffective, likely with a big missile dump followed by mass sustained fire.

An interesting custom campaign for sure just sadly limited by the current capabilities of the AI. Seeing one of the vauxhalls just sit there not even returning fire while it let you tear into its broadside is a bit sad
Yes agreed. The AI will need some work before Conquest is released so we can play singleplayer.
