Good day. Wonderful videos. Long time drinker... first time producer here. I’m getting ready for the summer season and looking to make some mash. Do you have an email I can contact you at (if you’re still around)?
hmmm wondering how long do you leave it {the last step} 1 week, 6 weeks, 8 weeks? pls n ths
wow looks great how much blueberries water and suger would you need for a 20 gallon run I'm new to doing this and would appreciate the help
Long time no see Martin,i hope you and silent Bob are doing well.Just wondering where do you get your alembic stills and how much are they? I am in Eire and everything here costs so much,i have a much bigger setup but i recently had to move house an put all my brewing gear in storage.I want to get back into hobby distilling but i am left with a situation now where to do that i would need to buy a smaller countertop setup like what you have as cheap as possible.Even them airstills are like €250 here, just looking for some advice buddy.Cheers.
Interesting video; in my opinion you'd be better off smelling and tasting for the heads and tails. If you're not sure what to expect really you can divide your whole process into small quantities and you will clearly smell them once you're done. Thermometer placement can affect the temperature reading.
Hi I fully understand the comments on thermometer placement but with the kessle Still i have in the video the thermometer always sits just below the spout were the condense steam is expelled. This then always give a true reading of the temperature and works very well. As for the temperatures i use in the video i always try to air on the side of caution, heads are taken up to 81.5 degrees a half a degree over the minimum required schnapps is taken up until 91 degrees again half a degree below the tails etc. With the quantities i use the most important this is repetitive and exact measurement of the material used. Finally i can speak out laud and tell you after several years of using such a great small still the finished product is fantastic too lol....

Cider Meister Nice one Cider Meister :)
How did the cider turn out? Cheers.
BeerZerkeraidian the bad alcohol r still there with freezing but will not blind you, if u drink 2litres of apple cider, is no different than drinking 500mls of apple jack, but if u distill the right way, u can drink a litre and no hang over
I've been thinking about making some different types of schnapps. Can you give me an exact recipe for what to do? I've got the still. I've got the hydrometer to test it afterwards. All I need it the shopping list and time table. Thanks. Cheers. - J
excellent info ,,thank you so much.
Hi Martin, Love the videos and giving this a go now. You mentioned you add 1/3 of the sugar now...when do you add the other 2/3? Cheers, David
***** Hi Dave, with the mash i tend to try to add the sugar each other day whilst fermentation is in full swing and very aggressive, just dont leave it till the fermentation has stopped as your alcohol content wont rise. dont forget the check the vinometer each time you add the sugar and stir the mix each day too to dung the head of the mash. good luck Martin
Are you guys still out there? I hope to see a new video soon.... Cheers!
Hans says your ARE LATE SCHNELL RAUS RAUS
when you said "If ive offended too many people, I'm sorry" there must have been a typo in the script chap sorry was meant to be pronounced "fark oaf" great video chap, V funny. cheers

Cool contest. I like the whole comparison thing. Those will make for interesting reviews. Good Stuff!!! CHEERS!!! DJ
Hi Mark I zink you know nozingk Klaus is not my Twins Brozer but he might be ze sister ! ! ! !
Cider... my guess it must be pasteurized, otherwise you'll risk getting something like Unclejona did LOL... I'm no expert but I'd bang it in a demijon with some cider or champagne wine yeast. Let if ferment out (3 or 4 weeks), measure it's gravity and taste it. It's likely to be very dry and to benefit from back-sweetening. Assuming you want to bottle it you'll then need to decide whether you want fizz? I prefer fizz to still so I add sucrose to bring the gravity up to 1015 - the sweetness then balances with the blinding acidity (at least that's my experience with my apple juice!). (I'm not a fan of Unfermentable sweeteners as they tend to provide a chemical-like after taste). Cap the bottles and keep them in the house for a few weeks for bottle conditioning. Keep a close eye on it to make sure that it doesn't over-carb. If they do then you'll want to burp off the excess CO2 and re-cap. You'll manage fine to get it drunk I'm sure with 5 litres, so unless you plan storing for ages just enjoy it. Another option is to try Pat Mack caps (homebrewingcaps.com) - they're great for fermenting out after primary - if it continues to ferment in secondary then you simply choose whether to drink it earlier (and have it fizzy and sweet) or leave it longer (and have it fizzy and dry). Feel free to message me as and when you're up and running with it and I'll chip-in with anything else I think might help. Looking forward to seeing how you get on. Cheers for now.
Thats it with such a comprehensive instruction list to follow i have to take your offer and dive in Keep you ears and eyes open for HBW #015 for a shout out Cider Meister Cheers Martin
Next time you do a vid you might want to ask Brewmaster Ben if you can borrow his brewing mopbucket to clear up after Klaus
Martin, did you need to wipe the camera lens down after the cuts to Krackers Klaus?? He sprays more than he says!!
