the best upgrade for me. Sadly also the most expensive, I dream so hard on a 1300 gram trail wheelset that rules. Cool to see the X!
@@jerryspeedbumps512 Love these X wheels.
+i think that the jeffsy core 3 from YT is a better option for a little bit more money (3k) cause you get a carbon frame... not that aluminium is bad but still.....
link doesnt work btw....

I'm sorry, but weight focus on a mtb is just ridiculous. Put on the bike what you like, but stop obsessing on the weight of parts. It just all creators new and old constantly blah, blah, blah about the weight of parts/bikes.
@@CJGrand1 it’s not just the weight that I’m talking about here. It’s the overall wheel weight which is that rolling rotational and unsprung weight. I think you have to really try a heavy tire and wheel and then ride that back to back with a light weight wheel set to understand how big of a difference it really makes.
How tall are you?
@@donclifford7017 6’2”
Jared, I have a Polygon T8 and instead bought Hunt Proven wheel for about 1k, big difference on climbing and cornering, thank you for your informational video, keep it up.
@@ramonbarreras9714 I want to try out the hunt proven carbon wheels next
Would love to buy it as frame and suspension only. The parts it comes with as a built bike ain't bad but I think it could be more practical, I'd definitely cut corners on the drivetrain and put AdventX groupset there, a Rockshox Pike select+ for the fork then splurge on a better wheelset, maybe a 170mm crank too. As for the dropper post and stem, meh.. it can be anything.
Glad you don’t spec bikes for Polygon😂
@@stanley909 That’s the great thing about MTB. We all setup our bikes a little differently.
@@joshuaallswang8016the spec is for me and my available parts lying around. why spec it higher when what you have still works

Im working on a brake setup now i am putting an mt410 caliper on the rear an mt420 caliper front and xt 8100 levers. I want to test and see if i can get the brake modualtion like the magura trail set up. But with the ease of bleed of shimano and way better levers.
@@WV_MTB heck yeah 👍 got to try different options. I was just talking to my buddy the other day about how Shimano levers are just so damn easy to bleed like ever since I was a brand new beginner mechanic I could bleed those things perfectly yet you give me a set of SRAM breaks forget about it. I’m just learning how to bleed those things.
This video was super helpful in considering whether to buy one of these or not. Your improvement back on the street after only a few tries with the machine was pretty impressive. It made a huge difference.
@@patrick764 To be honest, I need to get back out and use this again. Life gets busy and I don’t spend enough time improving skills. You still need to get out and practice on the street but this gives you another option to practice in the garage quickly.
Another quick comment spec that I think may have been missed. A 27.5 wheel puts the rear axle physically lower than a 29 wheel can. I know geo adjusts but it can only adjust BB height. My thoughts are the 27.5 places the rear pivot lower
This aged like fine wine! Now, you get a budget EMTB at just $2000 with great, quiet rear hub motor and buttery smooth torque sensors! On top of that, it has insane waterproof rating that one can literally submerge the battery up to 30 minutes and would still run well! After diligently following and scoping out e-bikes for over 2 years now and not owning one yet, I will be excited to get my very first e-bike this coming winter after countless of hours of deliberation: the Velotric Summit 1!

my Newman GL30 Tough enduro wheel set alloy are 1660kg a set still a 100g lighter than these carbon wheels and absolutely solid! Been a massive surprise tbh the fade hubs are so nice and silent and good engagement im about 300 lbs all kitted up on them 9 month's and standing test of time up to now amd the anti ding rim protection, but with your standard alloy wheels being 35mm wide im wondering if its that whats giving you more the feedback through the wheels with the new ones being 30mm wide same as mine and just a perfect width! I got a 3yr crash and defect Warranty on mine these were actually my Standard wheel set on my new bike certainly not cheap but still half the price and lighter than the Berds, but I would like to try the berds for heavier riders see how much flex there is in them

Windslayer ended up being useless for fishing. Gopro hero 13 overheated in 45 mins and it was just on 4k30 with no hypersmooth or gps. The mediamod was not as bad as I expected. I have 2 of them and never used the onboard mics because when testing, it sounded bad.

I ride bike parks in NZ all the time, I used to have a 150 rear 160 front trek slash enduro bike a few years ago, recently I switched to a 120 rear 130 front, 67.3 head angle merida one twenty trail bike and find it much more fun to ride, its so much fun to corner on, its agile and poppy, plus stable at speed, the shorter travel means you can feel more small trail features that you wouldn't feel on a bigger travel bike, and the funny thing is I can still ride steep double blacks on it, and I can still keep up with my brother on his 160 rear 170 front trek slash, and we're pretty much the same skill level, but you do have to get your suspension spot on due to the fact that you haven't got much of it to play with.
@@benjy288 nice 👍
For me as long as the wheel is carbon. Have both. Really dont like aluminium wheels. But not the weight or feel. Have like 2000 dollar carbon wheelset and about 800 dollar aluminium wheelset from same brand. For me the worst part with aluminium is that they get out of true and wobly. Other than that the difference is a bit in vibration feel.
@@Stockfish1511 good points
Wheels look great! If you had to choose between going carbon frame alloy wheels , or alloy frame carbon wheels which would go with !?
@@billyvancise8141 Alloy frame carbon wheels. But also depends on the allow wheels. I have a set of i9 EN300 alloy wheels that are amazing, but they cost $1650
Thanks! Trying to decide about YT Capra core 2vs3 only difference is carbon frame. Thinking of going alloy and getting carbon wheels with the bit of change left over!
@@billyvancise8141looks like the bikes have same suspension and similar spec. I also like the white colored Core 2. Id rather have a core 2 with carbon wheels in my humble opinion. But you’ll be happy either way.

Comparing ride quality you needed to be tubeless on both. Otherwise, you’re not comparing the wheel. You’re comparing tubes vs tubeless.
@@MTNMAX88 I kind of get what you’re saying. This was supposed to be a test of the cheap stock setup that comes on your bike versus an expensive upgrade.
Nah not good enough. Do it again, otherwise its a waste of time. Same psi same tires and same rotors and same size too@JaredHoff
@@JaredHoff the stock ones came tubeless ready. To compare wheels, you need to only compare wheels and not add any variables. But I enjoy your videos either way, so thank you for putting them out
@@MTNMAX88 I’ll make sure the setups are better next time.
1.73 kg for the set of wheels is heavy compared to the 1600 grams I have for 850 euros.

@@davemcbeard true 👍

@@viperdemonz-jenkins get a Polygon full suspension ASAP.
I get it $2000 is a lot of money! And if you choose not to spend that amount on a set of rims, that is totally fine I understand but there’s a reason why these are award-winning spokes. The ride is unique. they have a lifetime warranty, which means that you will take them from bike to bike. i’m not trying to sell you on these rims, but I must say try them before you talk shit about them. I believe they have a money back program if you’re not satisfied in a certain amount of time. Some of these comments sound just like a bunch of people hating on something they have not tried. I see some of the same hate towards the. schwalbe radial tires and those are another great new product that most people have not given a chance. But hey, your opinion is your opinion. Good day.✌🏾
