Derby Lightweight DMU With DCC Sound
Thanks so much !! My Procab went unresponsive yesterday when I had visitors !! After watching your youtube, took me all of 5 minutes to fix, now works perfectly !! I used a power screw driver, so took much less time to undo and redo the screws than by hand. Regards, Adrian in Australia
So nce powers up but wont respond
Thx for the instruction! The thumbwheel design could use a redesign. But replacing the part looks easy to do. Ordered an replacement encoder this afternoon. Great that you sell the NCE parts! Saves me high shipping costs and train fun down time!
Thanks to your clear replacement instruction video, and making available the sparepart, my NCE power cab is again back to full functionality! Thx!
It looks as if it could have been designed to have support on the opposite side of the thumb wheel. Perhaps the encoder gets some side torque when pressed by the thumb......
thank you for this video, i just updated my power cab. 100% painless. i did have to use your needle bend process. that was the only time i was a little worried(that i might bend them too far. SUCCESS.
Really helpful Kevin - thanks
Wondering if you could help. I having issues with my NCE system. When I encounter an accidental short cct the system seems to rest the locos and mess up the sound settings and acceleration systems. I find I need to reset the loco using cv 8. However, it doesn’t always effect every loco on the layout, the most susceptible one are the one with sound chips onboard. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks for the video. My NCE was looking pretty grubby and some buttons needed a good press. All cleaned and working now. Thanks again. Roger.
They recently repaired my cab, sent away Thursday afternoon, fixed on Friday and returned Saturday morning. Absolutely brilliant highly recommended
Bizarre NCE do an 'update' via installing an new eporm!
Can you quote for installing a stay alive in the new 08? Please thanks.
At the moment the Stay-alive fitted into that 08 is currently unavailable, the manufacturer is due to produce a replacement, but we don't quite know if that will fit or how much it will be.
Great do you know what to do if something’s wrong with starting it up and being unable to leave the cab number select screen
There could be a number of different reasons, but it is down to the handset not being able to communicate with the command station. However is this issue with a Power Cab or ProCab?
Great information and great channel 👍 I think I’m going to try this my screen on my power cab is all squares or boxes and won’t do anything
Great video, always good to clean the buttons first to test. 1 question slightly off topic, how did you get the loco address to read 003AB? I didn't know you could use letters for the address
Going follow your progress just found your channel buddy 👍💯👍 layout looking good
good idea saves accidents or pile ups.
have you ever had the system stop listening to controls and it just starts doing what it wants to do? I have changed the battery in the 5 amp system, and it still does it.
Do you know how to turn the back light on in regards to the display? because mine has never worked
Oops ,brake's not so good

Very useful information Kevin, thanks for posting. Best regards, Vivian
Great video. I have a problem with my Gaugemaster prodigy 2 speed dial at the bottom of the controller, it works sometimes so I have resorted to using the Del and Enter buttons to control the speed. Do you do spare parts for my controller or is it possible to clean it?

Is this the original Hoover sound or after they were modified?

Nice one kev!
Great Sound, shame about the signal.
I know was a while ago. I have fitted these in to my voyager with 4 func decoder but can't get them to work properly. Using dynamis light func turns on all forwards lights (marker/day/night/top marker) on both ends. Func 1 and 2 control reds and func 3 and 4 does nothing. Any ideas?
I half expected the loco to go THROUGH the shed doors!!!
Nice loco appreciate the vid...
