I was writing for a Wilmington, DE publication called Fine Times when the Waitresses played the Chestnut Cabaret in Philly. Their drummer Billy Ficca was from Wilmington and also married Patty later on. I have a great shot from when I interviewed Patty after the show. She was very nice to talk to and left us way too soon.

So, are there actually people living around the area now? I was under the impression that no one really lived there anymore, but that street that has the "satanic" church on it looks really nice and lived in, or on.

I was there 3 times ,Geauga lake once,seaworld once,then six flags when they joined them together. When all 1 park with zoo between the 2 was probably best park outside Disney for a couple years

I'm a Duran Duran fan but I'm absolutely fascinated with Patty Donahue. I have their rare 2 CD collection titled Just Desserts. I live here in Cleveland and have visited her grave a couple times. My 1st factory job was on the street next to Holy Cross. She is buried right by the hotel in the upper left hand corner of the cemetery . Fascinating life. I wonder if she ever met Kip Winger in Alice Cooper's band or Chrissy Hynde of the Pretenders. She's interviewed on You Tube on the Morning exchange. Awesome gal. The bass line in Christmas Wrapping is just mind blowing. I play bass myself.

Cedar Fair ruined Geauga Lake!! I saw just recently that Cedar Fair was going under, karma baby, Karma! I still don't know why SeaWorld closed down. There was absolutely nothing wrong with either one of those Parks.

I'll always be bitter, I grew up in the neighborhood right next to the park.

I work there! I live in Richfield & got some of the story of its history. It's a centennial building, back in the early 1900s. In our area, you cannot tear down or rebuild on the property. It used to be an open air market 6 months out of the year with fresh produce, meat and essentials grown and made in our area. It became Country Counter then Fazio's before Giant Eagle purchased it in the late 90s. Also, It has a fireplace in produce area, a 2 lane bowling alley upstairs and is haunted. I work in the front end. If you notice, the "i" in "Thanks for shopping" has been painted on because they no longer make letters like that anymore. Please come visit our awesome store. It's like stepping back in time but also you get a personal shopping experience, which is no longer a thing, unfortunately.

I have 8mm of many of those rides in action in 1966 to 1971.

I live 7 minutes from the abandoned parks. I grew up there. I met my 1st love waiting in line to ride Raging Wolf Bobs! I am so sad that my kids didn't get to experience the good times I did. Cedar Fair is a joke. 😢

I had a scary experience when I went there about 8 yrs ago. It was before they made it a park.

Everything is made so cheaply nowadays straight from China. I do not like any of the inflatables anymore. All of them have been made cheaply and they look cheap.

Truly fascinating to think when I was at Wildwater Kingdom as a kid, all the old SeaWorld buildings were rotting away behind the scenes. This park was truly massive.

39:22 I've lost count of how many times that i walked through that security building over a period of 10 seasons (1995-2005). It brings back good memories of how things used to be. I sometimes wonder what it would have been like if Anheuser Busch had not sold the Sea World portion to Six Flags. Hopefully they'll find a way to preserve some of what remains.

I grew up an hour from Geauga Lake. Sea World was a favorite weekend trip for our family 2-3 times a summer in the 70's early 80's. Seeing some of my favorite childhood memories reduced to this is just depressing. As I get older I begin to understand what my grandmother meant when she said she had lived too long.
