It's not the transmission. It's the torque converter. I went through it with my 17. Done it myself for about 800. Don't let these mechanics tell you it needs a transmission. If it's jarring and the rpms move slightly when it does. It's the torque converter not the transmission. The pressure switch allows it to get hot and it comes apart and it needs a torque converter

I switched to a V8 Tundra, problem solved.

Is the 4t65e better or worse than the 6l80e? I've had jerky shifts (now a bit of a shift flare into overdrive as well) since I got a 2007 chevy impala 3.9l at 99k miles. Still going at 118k miles, but definitely on its way out lol. (I even changed the fluid and filter at 102k miles... Womp womp.)

I can get my 4l80 rebuit for 1500 and go for a 200k.

I rented a 2022 Chevy Silverado from U-Haul before the Fall of 2023, but I don't remember what kind of transmission it had.

I just started my 96 psd the other day, been sitting for over a month not plugged in and 20 sum degrees F. And it fired up after 4-5 seconds of cranking but it was not to happy to be woke up after its hibernation haha. But she shook it off and was ready to go to war!!

You can absolutely delete the active fuel management. In ANY motor. Cam, lifters, valve springs and pushrods.

Poor maintenance and NOT paying attention when the TC “shudders”…. If you pay attention to your vehicle and actually maintain it it’ll last. This does NOT apply to Powerstroke 6.4L lol

The proper test would be to count how many 20 year old chevys are still running vs how many 20 year old fords and dodges are still running. There will be 3 times more 20 year old gm cars and trucks still going than ford and dodge combined

Fact of the day: 99% of cars that come to a transmission shop need transmission work. 99% of the ones that don't come to a transmission shop don't need transmission work. Its all in where you select your samples.
