What if it is not the catalytic converter and you have an exhaust leak? Sometimes that code for catalytic converted means either dirty or wide open. Others exhaust leak.

I have a 2010 BMW X5 throwing this code. Why are you putting both non-foulers on? I've seen other videos using just one.

It works. Use a 1/2” drill bit to drill center out, code went from perm to pending, then gone. Only one needed…

So my o2 sensor upstream is bad on my 2.4L camry. I had the first cat gutted and the second cat deleted. My upstream sensor is bad. Is there a way I can trick that sensor or will I absolutely need another one? It’s the AFR sensor.

So this hack is not really a fix of the actual problem P0420 identifies. It's a way to fool the emission test into "thinking" the exhaust doesn't have a problem. Will continuing to drive the car eventually damage the engine?

I do add the o2 spacers on down stream only or upstream too?

This "cheap fix" doesn't actually "fix" anything, it just covers up the problem.

The entire O2 Sensor thing is a SCAM just to make huge money for the manufacturers. The air that we are breathing is NO DIFFERENT than it was in the 1960s when there were no catalytic converters. The manufacturers LOBBY the law makers to pass laws that FORCE you to buy THEIR expensive equipment. Believe me - those law makers could't care less about clean air. It's TRUE.!!!

I wouldn't call that a fix. Cheaper to solder in a filter to change the time constant...but still not a fix

You’re just throwing a Band-Aid on it diagnose it and fix it right in the long run. It’s going to cost you more money. If you put this on there computer or not be reading correctly it’s just a full system.

I had a bosh 02 sensor, and 1/2 inch drill bit wasnt wide enough to drill enough space for the o2 sensor. I ended up drilling 3 spark plug defoulers to get the correct size. After 200 miles my check engine light is still off, fingers crossed
