John Lennon interviewed by Bob Harris (1975)
seems disappointing without a video
Something happened in 1966 that broke up the Beatles according to George.
Where is the rest of the interview?
"Right I need to go and have another poo, Steve".
tenia 10 cuando mataron a Lennon, como pudo ocurrir algo asi. Desde ese dia entendí que el mundo podia ser muy feo, por primera vez se suspendió mi infancia
4:05 How about those choppers??? 😂
This is brilliant, the best I've ever heard these fellers talk on the media, just two people with history talking about things they have in common. It beats the hell out of listening to them answer stupid questions from stick-up-the-ass talk show hosts. That Malcolm fancied himself as a modern P.T. Barnum (footnotes by Brian Epstein), and fell far short. The Rock'n'roll Hall of Fame carries much the same stench. Gatekeepers all, and who needs them? Submissives. I think Green Day gets a bit of a bad rap, because idiots accused them of ripping off the Ramones, and they responded by refusing to admit that they were trying to imitate the Pistols musically, without the media outrage. They're really very good at it. It's like '60s pop groups imitating Chuck Berry or Little Richard.
Gosh I had never seen that. It certainly makes a complete mockery of all the fabricated drama about the Beatles. Sure there was a bit of fiction at the end but you can see that here it is 1975 and he's already fully again mates with Paul, and a bloody awesome attitude about everything. As an aside I have always loved how all these British musicians seemed to all know each other, respect each other, and get on
He died just as the music industry was about to change its face forever due to MTV and CDs.
Great to hear these two chatting so relaxed.
Dickens' Scrooge wonder what he's plying.
Sad, gone way too soon. John was very smart and talented. There could have been a Beatles reunion, he said that a few times, he never said never. If the feeling came to him, now with George gone, another talent gone way too soon, both too young to die.
What's a chocolate Oliver?
Pete Townshend showing love to Johnny Thunders is beautiful
Looking back, it is still quite shocking that John L and Yoko O had the nerve to release an album called Two Virgins (1968) with them full frontal naked on the cover. You think surely they didn't? Well, yes they did. Crikey!
Pure Class -best artist ever
2 deranged people seen as important....
God bless Mark Chapman.
😅no elvis pls😊
John: "My friends are my friends...whatever way..." Love it!
Both knew they were blagging it!
His voice and His Guitar were a marriage made. Wish they would bury the hatchet 😢❤
hearing john discuss guns has an overtly ominous tone
Lick lick 👅
John singing to this is everything

TAKE JUDE by APOLOGETIX a Beatles parody
I truly believe had he lived he was planning to reconnect with his family in Englad and Julian.also. i think in time I think John eould have divorced Yoko....
John being John; would not want it any other way.
Love to hear these 2 icons shootin' the shit.
I feel the same, I nearly always prefer the original rather then live version of just about anything.
That song takes on a completely different in light of Lennon's end.
That DJ he beat up was called Bob Wooler who introduced the Beatles to their future manager, Brian Epstein and was paid off after the lovely Lennon put him in hospital for making a crack about a holiday John spent alone with Brian in Spain.
Incredible to discover this amazing interview in the last days of 2024, one of my favorite songs and he sounds so excited about it. I always thought this one was one of his best songs ever, and I think he would have agreed. Miss you John, you had a one-of-the-kind talent 🙌🏻
Have never seen\ this! ❤❤❤❤❤
maestro john!
These are lies, DONT BELIVE THIS SHIT!
If only knew what eventually happened to Phil Spector.
Jahn beet wif lmao
It's lovely hearing John and Steve getting along. Sad that they will never be friends again.
John Green’s DAKOTA DAYS, Seaman’s THE LAST DAYS OF JOHN LENNON, and May Pang’s LOVING JOHN are my trio of truth regarding John & Yoko’s life behind the high stone walls of The Dakota…
What a great interview. I never saw this. A happy John is a good John. I'm 61 and have made a living playing and recording Beatle music since 1981. I thank them for my cars and houses. I don't know what my life would be without their music. I've never met any of them but I have played with Joey Molland and Denny Laine. It been a good time. Thanks for this upload.
Wow, that was super sweet. 👏
For me ,this is the best interview with John Lennon I have ever seen ,he was just so relaxed non confrontational ,smiling ,laughing and being John. Bob Harris had this brilliant rapport with all these mega musicians ,bands ,singers they all seemed to relax around Bob no matter their good ,bad or indifferent reputations. The Old Grey Whistle Test (Bob's TV Show) introduced so much to so many.
I was born in netherfield nottingham...a victorian terraced housed shit hole right next to the railway line ...my folks left england when i was 3 years old and started another life...they were pre rock n roll....very polite....never listened to the sex pistols...but...till the end of his life dad always said england was a shithole full of nasty oppressed people with no hope and no future....and that he would never ever go back....my dad had figured out exactly what god save the queen was about long before the sex pistols and although he absolutly hated the music he completely agreed with the message...thanks dad that i never had to grow up in shithole UK
And i had my first shit in almost a year the other day....fantastic....so john you keep shitting...dont take it for granted...youll miss it when its gone..
