    The enthusiasm, techniques, & home design of these people you interview are so wonderful. You never know whats behind closed doors! The tropics is such a relaxing place. Plants just grow so effortlessly, while others struggle with cold weather just to keep them alive for next year. I’m always encouraged after watching your videos to rethink & give my plants a better environment and care so they can stay happier, which makes me more positive and less stressful. The cabbage tray setup shown here was so cool. Love this video!

    Is it always necessary to plant Heliconias along a wall? Otherwise, how do you make sure they don't break when there's a strong wind? Also, can they do well in shade? Thanks for your tips!

      Hey, you can use other big plants too. For instance, Calathea Lutea is a good choice. But The wind definitely will destroy them occasionally. But hey, they will grow back. No worries

    Another question, after making a round moss ball and securing with fishing line. I feel like the moss always feels hard, even after soaking. Is it possible I made the moss too compact during mounting, and is it a problem if it is?

    • @aloneinoasis
      @aloneinoasis 17 днів тому

      Yes, being too compact with pure moss is also a problem too. That's why I always use chunky media in the core to ensure good aeration. Make sure to soak it longer to let the moss fully absorb the moisture.

    What about the drainage? Do I need to put drain holes in my pot or is it ok to hold a little extra water?

    • @aloneinoasis
      @aloneinoasis Місяць тому

      I always encourage to have a drainage layer to drain out the water. Stagnant water usually encourages bad fungal or all kinds of diseases to plants.
